BrickMonkeyMOCs Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 Nice model, but I'm not a fan of the stickers. I don't get why TLG promise not to sticker Star Wars UCS plaques anymore, but continue to sticker the plaques in other product lines. Quote

On the engine block, you can see end of 77765 pin 3L with end stop. But considering engine block is 2L thick, those 3L pin make engine block unstable. Maybe that is 2L version of that pin. And seems like engine use new cam piece with old piston. Quote
NV Lego technic Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 But the engine block + the part holding it are 3 studs together. Quote
Sokolov Edward Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 There is very little attention from the community to motorcycles in Lego Technic, and even less to the scale 1:5. Quite an interesting model with free instructions, suitable for assembly during the New Year holidays, provided that it does not contain any difficult to replace new parts. Quote

The only thing that confuses me is the panel under the tank. 38 minutes ago, msk6003 said: Technic motorcycle windscreen This part is really new, but it is quite possible to install glass from BMW 75544pr0001. The color of the parts is not so important - with others it can turn out even more interesting than the original. Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 Seems that the engine uses the small engine cam, but is somehow connected to the large cylinders.. Very unusual. Quote

Unfortunately I think you're right. One step forwards (gearboxes are getting better) but one step back (unrealistic engine, less realistic than what we already had for decades). Quote

I think the engine's at least 6 studs wide (4 of those are cylinder blocks, something is in between them), gonna be interesting to get a more detailed view of what they actually did. The axle on the other side of the cylinder is probably a 4L with stop inserted from each side, so that handles stability fine, the pins just maintain the angle. thekoRngear Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 As usual, good preview video for a Technic set. He has some interesting observations regarding pricing. My only question [for now] is though: how come an upcoming set can already be declared legendary? 😕 Quote
NV Lego technic Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 To home everything with a gearbox is legendary. Quote
danielhstahl Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 The actual bike has 6 speed...would have been more interesting if this had more gears. Quote
allanp Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 I mean, the gearbox of the Yamaha was a legendary improvement in gearboxes for sure (the gearbox being the most mechanically interesting part, so that's wonderful!), but if this Ducati doesn't improve on the gearbox in some way (like adding more speeds), and it uses the newer, less realistic cam style engine, then it's a step backwards overall. pleegwat Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 When was the last 1:8 car with a new gearbox? Quote

Not sure how this relates to this set, but the 42172 mclaren P1's gearbox worked quite differently to previous lego car gearboxes. I wonder why they didnt use the orange changeover drum in this set instead of the medium azure one Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Looks like new panels under the seat and under the fuel tank. Quote
