This seems to be the most interesting set of the wave. It's something different, and it seems to have plenty of functions for the size. Or, differently stated, it's the Technic set hiding between the cars.

I can't see how tilting the engines works, the knobs on top are to spin the propellers and fold the claw away.  Maybe just a manual thing where you angle them on friction pins?  The rear one connects through a U-joint so it has fairly limited range, but the side ones could hypothetically point straight up and down.

I expect the engines to be connected to the tail part with a simple lever mechanism.

Edit: Here you can see connection:

This looks nice too, and mechanically dense :) Is this a new panel color though? If yes, I bet this will be used in something bigger this year.

It does, very cool design and alot of functions. By far the best set in 1H

I agree but

1. TLG doesn't do vintage cars

2. They already did a Ford GT

3. The mudguards wouldn't fit the shape and I do think it would be profitable to produce them jus for this submarine in thus color.

A whole days work, but it's finally done and all parts accounted for! The folding mechanism is pretty cool. 42201.io

Fun fact: On the official box images and lifestyle pics the propellers spin opposing ways because the right tan bevel gear is mounted wrong. In the below image the right prop would spin CCW, not CW as shown. But all 3 props are supposed to spin in the same direction. The only place it's shown correctly is in the 360° animation.

Ideally the two side propellers should spin in opposite directions, to counteract each other's rotational torque.

Agree, but then you'd also need a new propeller element with opposite pitch angle, which LEGO did not use here. So they need to spin the same way on this sub.

Oh yes, we could have known it by looking at the images carefully.

I'd wish that TLG's designer had a little bit more of technical understanding and knowledge - or even would do a little test run before inserting wrong arrows into their official images... or even better, they would doublecheck if their promotional images show exactly the set as is it is intended to be built via instructions (which is an old and common isssue...).

Thank you for your effort!

So, if a reviewer can't find negative points about a set, you automatically assume they're being bribed by TLG?

Well that was just a bad joke but nice to see a set wich don't have any negatives or bad things:)

Those propellers should spin faster, but due to placing of universal joint, t20 gear does not fit there :(
