Aurore Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 Day 6 : Alrune Dresghar - "Very well, no musical introduction. Might I, at last, proceed with my tale uninterrupted?" Alrune - "Go ahead, Uncle. We're all set up!" Spoiler Quote
GeoBrick Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 And at last a view of Alrune, in a new outfit and quite ready to be entertained. I recognize the skirt piece, but I'm not familiar with the torso. Star Wars or Ninjago perhaps? Quote
zoth33 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Alrune looks great. Just reminds me of how I need to pick up Rivendell before it retires. Quote
NOD Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 A great Advent calendar with story! This is a very nice place by the fireplace. The fireplace, furniture, carpet and objects are interesting and well constructed. Dresghar and Alrune are sympathetic characters, I'm excited about the further builds and the story. Quote
Aurore Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 @GeoBrick Thank you! The torso is from Star Wars indeed, from the "Morgan Elsbeth" minifig (which also has very interesting head and hairstyle). @zoth33 Thank you! Rivendell is such a beautiful set, I hope you’ll manage to get it! @NOD Thank you so much! I hope you’ll enjoy the rest too! Quote
Aurore Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 Day 7 : Firewood Dresghar - "Every tale requires its stage: a crackling fire, a cosy nook, and a patient audience. Now let the flames unveil the story yet to come... Which leads us to the first scene of this Calendar already! Quote
The Stad Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 I look forward to your Advent calendars every year, and this and last year’s are true standouts. I love the daily additions to the larger scenes and, as always, your builds and fig combos are top-notch! Quote
Aurore Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 @The Stad Thank you so much for those heartwarming words! I’m so glad you enjoy the concept of adding to larger scenes I followed this year! Quote
Aurore Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 Day 8 : the Storybook Dresghar - "Once upon a time..." Spoiler Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Days 1-7 came together so beautifully! It looks so cozy Quote
zoth33 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 (edited) The whole scene with Alrune and Dresghar came together beautifully. Edited December 9, 2024 by zoth33 Quote
Aurore Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 @Umbra-ManisThank you! Coziness was indeed the goal... @zoth33 Thank you very much! Quote
Aurore Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 Day 9 : the (Micro) Forest Dresghar - "...there was a forest, silent beneath a blanket of snow. It was not just any forest, mind you, but a sprawling, ancient expanse where the trees whispered secrets to the wind." Spoiler Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 The first scene was really fun to see come together and I already love where this second one is going and how it's tying into the story. Awesome concept. Quote
Aurore Posted December 10, 2024 Author Posted December 10, 2024 @Kai NRG Thank you very much! It was my very first time building microscale, and I really enjoyed doing it. Quote
Aurore Posted December 10, 2024 Author Posted December 10, 2024 (edited) Day 10 : the (Micro) Lake Dresghar - "Our tale unfolds in the heart of this wintry wilderness, where icy rivers run untamed, and waterfalls hide treasures untold." Alrune - "Come on, Uncle, is this a tale of heroism, danger, and improbable odds, or a lecture in geography?" Spoiler Edited December 10, 2024 by Aurore Quote
GeoBrick Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 And here I was thinking you would expand on the room for the whole Advent. The wall with the wood storage and the owl statue to top it off is a nice closure piece of the scene. Out of curiosity, did you use a panel or a window piece behind the owl? I can't really make it out because of the background color. For the new part, a splendid idea to use a book cover to depict the scene. And I'm already curious on the blank (tiled) parts of it where appearantly no small scene can be attached. Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Love the use of the new muffin piece. I'm surprised this is your first microscale, I was almost sure we'd seen micros from you before. You're off to a cool start anyways! (sigh ) Quote
Aurore Posted December 11, 2024 Author Posted December 11, 2024 @GeoBrick Thank you so much for all these kind words! There is a panel behind the owl, indeed. @Kai NRG I definitely hope we'll get more colours of the cupcake, for summer trees as well! 13 hours ago, Kai NRG said: You're off to a cool start anyways! Aurore Posted December 11, 2024 Author Posted December 11, 2024 Day 11 : the (Micro-)Garden Dresghar - "At the edge of the frozen forest, far from the nearest village, lived two sisters who tended a small garden to eke out a simple life." Spoiler Quote
LordDan Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I’ve been following along with these on Flickr and I have to say how awesome the micro waterfall scene is! The splat and energy effect pieces are great, and like Kai mentioned the cupcake/ muffin piece is perfect for micro scale trees! Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 The grill tiles for the garden are brilliant and subtle. I'm pretty curious as to where this cut out curve is going... Quote
Aurore Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 @LordDan Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoy the waterfall scene...as it's probably my personal favourite! @Kai NRG Thank you very much! The scene of the garden was welcomed here at home with "what, that's all for today?" () so it's nice to see that someone appreciated it. And the curve...well, it does have a symbolic meaning but I'm not sure how obvious that will be. Quote
Aurore Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 (edited) Day 12 : the (Micro-)Cottage Dresghar - "Alas, the younger had been gravely ill since the onset of this harsh winter, and her elder sister was consumed by despair—beginning to fear that nothing could save her." Alrune - "I certainly hope she'll find a way to save her. I don't like unhappy endings." Dresghar - "Darling, aren't you a necromancer?" Alrune - "Of course I am. What's your point?" Spoiler Edited December 12, 2024 by Aurore Quote
GeoBrick Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 The plot (and the scene) thickens... Impressive parts use for the sisters' dwelling. And it looks like it can be used as a Christmass stall in a pinch. I love all the extra details like the heaps of snow around the it. Quote
