Umbra-Manis Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 That cottage is adorable, brilliant use of the rocker plate bases! Quote
Aurore Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 @GeoBrick Thank you so much! The cottage would indeed make a nice Christmas stall in a micro-market, that's a great idea @Umbra-Manis Thank you very much! Quote
Aurore Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 Day 13 : the (Micro) Monster Dresghar – "As the winter solstice drew near and her younger sister grew weaker with each passing day, the elder made her choice. She would venture deep into the forest, facing the frost and the monsters that lurked within..." Spoiler Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Looks like a really lovely homestead and a massive frog Quote
Aurore Posted December 14, 2024 Author Posted December 14, 2024 @Kai NRG My first idea was to cast the Friends salamander as the monster...But it looked way too cartoonish! So a giant frog it is. Quote
Aurore Posted December 14, 2024 Author Posted December 14, 2024 Day 14 : the (Micro-)Spirit Glade Dresghar - "...for she had heard legends whispering of a hidden glade, veiled by enchantments and revealed only on the longest night of the year. At its heart, it was said, lay a crystal of untold power, waiting for one brave enough to claim it." ... Which puts the final touch to the second scene! Scene 2 : the Frozen Forest Quote

That's a nice visual way to hint at the new chapter, placing the next location a bit separate from the previous. Again, marvelous work on the snow -and landscaping. And now I'm curious if the new type of tree has any significance for next weeks' part of the story. Quote
Aurore Posted December 15, 2024 Author Posted December 15, 2024 @GeoBrick Hehe, you guessed the topic of the next scene! Quote
Aurore Posted December 15, 2024 Author Posted December 15, 2024 (edited) Day 15 : the Mischievous Pixie Dresghar - "She had trudged through the snow for hours, her feet heavy and her spirit heavier, when she encountered a pixie perched high in a tree. Eyes glinting with mischief, the creature offered to guide her to a hidden treasure, tempting her to abandon the search for the crystal. Yet the girl refused, her heart unwavering as she chose her sister’s health over riches and comfort." Spoiler Day 15 - Mischievous Pixie by Aurore, sur Flickr Edited December 15, 2024 by Aurore Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Great use of the horn piece in that tree! Quote

Aurore Posted December 16, 2024 Author Posted December 16, 2024 (edited) Day 16 : the Pink Fairy Dresghar : "A little deeper in the forest, the girl found a delicate fairy, frozen in a cocoon of ice. Her wings, once vibrant, were now brittle and cold. The fairy whispered weakly, calling for help, unable to live without warmth. With tender resolve, the girl cradled her in her hands and sang a song, one she had once sung to calm her sister. As the melody filled the air, the fairy’s colors bloomed once more, revived by the warmth of love and memory." Spoiler Edited December 17, 2024 by Aurore Quote
zoth33 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 The pixie in the tree is a fun idea. The color usage in the pink fairy build are a nice aesthetic. Really looks wonderful Quote
Aurore Posted December 17, 2024 Author Posted December 17, 2024 @zoth33 Thank you! The scene of this week is something the person who opens the "physical" calendar each morning requested me quite a while ago... Quote
Aurore Posted December 17, 2024 Author Posted December 17, 2024 Day 17 : Birch Tree Alrune - “Quite the densely populated mysterious forest, is it? When I go for a stroll, all I ever find are brambles and bugs.” Dresghar - “That’s because you’re not an innocent heroine, dearest.” Spoiler Quote

Aurore Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 Day 18 : Friendly Pixie Dresghar - "Further into the forest, our innocent heroine encountered another pixie. His wings shimmered faintly, like frost touched by moonlight, but his eyes were warm and kind. 'The storm ahead will test your heart,' he told her. 'But remember this: the light within you is stronger than the darkness around you.'" Spoiler Quote
Eyrezer Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 (edited) I love the little faerie folk. I still need to get some of the Harry Potter ones. I think the story explanation of the fairy in ice helps sell the part use by the way. Like others, I'm delighted to see you have an actual advent calendar that can be opened! Have you done all the photographs in advance for us online audience? Edited December 18, 2024 by Eyrezer Quote
GeoBrick Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 That's a nice blend of those translucent pieces in the landscape. And I feel you have the color shades in the birch tree spot on. Quote
Aurore Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 @Eyrezer Thank you very much! I’m very fond of the various fairy folk in LEGO form, they’re all so cute...And yes, I take all the photos in advance. I’m a bit late currently though, as I still have not finished the last three builds! @GeoBrick Thank you so much! Quote
Aurore Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 Day 19 : Frost Fairy Dresghar - "The forest turned wild as snow swirled and winds howled, blinding the girl and filling her heart with despair. At the heart of the storm appeared two fairies sculpted of ice and frost, their voices sharp as crystals: 'What keeps you walking through the storm? There is nothing for you here but death.' Kai NRG Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Way to use all those transparent fern pieces, they look quite magical against the snow. Love the hint of yellow in the tree too, helps sell it as a birch! Quote
