Thirdwigg Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 (edited) Tipping Dump Truck 462 pcs | $49.99 Looks pretty good to me. Edited December 1, 2024 by Thirdwigg Quote
Aurorasaurus Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 It looks like it should have HOG and a tipping bed. To me, the price seems a bit much. But maybe it has more to offer than it seems. The wheelarch in black is nice. Quote
msk6003 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 (edited) Looks awesome. I must buy it. Hope this set has medium linear actuator. Edited December 1, 2024 by msk6003 Quote
Auroralampinen Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Well i like this set i think this set is strongly inspired of 8052 set but its sad to see power functions gone in new 50€ set because the 8052 was 50€ with power functions and the tipping bed had 2 different modes first was the tipping and secon was you could lower the bed to ground and leave the bed to ground and drive away without bed:) 7 minutes ago, Auroralampinen said: Well i like this set i think this set is strongly inspired of 8052 set but its sad to see power functions gone in new 50€ set because the 8052 was 50€ with power functions and the tipping bed had 2 different modes first was the tipping and secon was you could lower the bed to ground and leave the bed to ground and drive away without bed:) well i have to pick up this set on second hand market because they look really similar and fun to compare:) Quote

Oh_Hi_Mao Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 (edited) What a refreshment after all the cars. Nice looking set with some OG vibes (perhaps because it is unlicensed) Edited December 1, 2024 by Oh_Hi_Mao Quote

But I agree with you, that only steering and tipping function (and doors) is a bit poor for a 50€ set, as these are the same functions as the 42147 for 10€... Overall, it looks nice and for a discount with a price of 40€, this is a really nice parts pack :-) Quote
R0Sch Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 (edited) Looks nice but the price is outrageous. How can the John Deere Harvester with 100 parts more cost 43€, the Mack Garbage Truck with 40 parts more 35€, but this small no-name truck here 50€!?! Edited December 1, 2024 by R0Sch Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Yeah for 50 EUR I'd expect at least something extra, like 4 axles or 3 way tipper. Quote

At this point I start to believe that some license owners are paying for Lego from marketing budget (e.g. Mack) and so we get cheaper sets on their behalf and some licenses Lego is buying (Ferrari) so we get inflated prices. Maaboo the Witch Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Think this ugly thing was concocted to suck up surplus dark blue parts from the Red Bull car. Ironically, the truck and excavator in the background look better. Quote

Both the harvester and the garbage truck had a lot of system parts. And small parts. They are smaller even though they use more parts. Quote

Better look at the simplistic tipping function. 2ttoys has higher res images of the rest of them posted here before. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Doesn't even use a linear actuator! What the hell? Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Is the chassis just like, 2 frames slapped together? Quote

Well the simplistic tipping function could be resolved maybe with L linear actuator but last time we saw those was in cat d11 buldozer and that would need a much more crancking so i think personally if this new mechanism work faster and would not be hard to move in unloading heavy cargo is win win but i still wish we had those cool functions from the 8052:) Quote
Timewhatistime Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Not regarding the price, I like this tipping dump truck. The colours match it's (little) brothers 42112 and 42147. Seems like dark blue becomes what once was yellow for TLG's construction vehicles. I wonder how the tipping mechanism works exactly... still cannot understand the purpose if the 2x4 L-shaped liftarms beneath the bed... looks very wobbly to me so far. The lbg half bush ABOVE the HOG wheel is a thing I really don't like. There must be a better combination of axle lengths! Quote
M_longer Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Sooo basically we have 8052, which was ripped off everything that made it cool. Power Functions, linear actuator and hooklift mechanism. For the same price! Well to be fair, not the same. Inflation adjusted value of 8052 would be around 70€: But I'm still disapointed that they use same simple lifting mechanism in 10€ (42147) set and 50€ set. Quote
