Aleh Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 (edited) Hello and welcome my new crane. I hope it deserves a separate topic, bacause it's simply another crane :D Implementaion of the world famous Mammoet SK series ring crane in a small scale. The crane consists of ~1180 parts but reflects absolutely all real crane functions: -Tower operating with double chain, forget about the winches here! L motor - Slewing with 8 * 8 formula and L motor - Winch with L motir and 1:5 reduction - Able to hold the tower horizontally without anny additional counterweight - Can load 500Gr - which is not the limit but alraedy great for this scale All functions work smooth and easy. Small amount of parts allows to assemble it to a bigger amount of fans! All images Building instructions Edited December 2, 2024 by Aleh Quote
bruh Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Looks cool! Probably not mini, but still big! Good job! I like the train wheels. Quote

bruh Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Yeah, that's what I was comparing it to when I said it was tiny. To me, its still really big, and VERY impressive, especially the engineering. Quote
mdemerchant Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Nice job. It should be more accessible in this size for more people to build. You even have a tiny operators cab. You are missing the box for the chain to pile into though. Do they use that on all the sizes of SK cranes or only the biggest ones? Quote

I skipped it here intentionally because of the battery box location. Moving battery box to the fron part of the support leg will reduce the counterweight force and the crane won't be able to hold the boom horizontally without additional ballast. And this box is skipped in my SK6000 because the chain got stucked inside often, So I had to refuse from that basket. 6 hours ago, mdemerchant said: Do they use that on all the sizes of SK cranes or only the biggest ones? SK series includes only 3 monstersize cranes if I'm not wrong. Both the newest SK6000 and Sk350 have this basket for chain. About the rest models you can google my friend. Thank you for the comment! Btw I think I need to update my signiture photo here :) Quote
ILoveSeatron Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Nice crane! It looks great! I especially like it because it is a rail crane. I think you did a good job on it. Quote
Aleh Posted December 5, 2024 Author Posted December 5, 2024 Because of the high demand I added power up edition. Only a few parts needed to be changed + motors :) https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-202022/OleJka/75cm-mini-mammoet-sk-series-power-up-edition/#details Quote
nerdsforprez Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Very cool crane and idea. I think the "mini" title fits perfectly. Even though it is >1000 pieces it is mini to scale of the actual beast. I have several builds on my to-do list right now but I wouldn't be surprised if I return to this and build it sometime! Quote

Thanks) The original idea belongs to MAmmoet engineers, I simply implemented it of Lego Technic It's mini not compared only to the original monster, but even to my SK6000 crane - that was the idea. And do not postpone the build - I think it will took only a few hours to build from zero :) Quote
