So ran into a review of 40649 "Up Scale Mini Figure" and can't help but wish we could get this template for a few comic heroes. Namely, Giganta, Apache Chief, and Atom Smasher. At $50 I could see this being a solid range for a set or sets based off of the giant characters of DC comics. I figure it's almost guaranteed to never happen, but I think it'd be so cool to get these characters in this format.

Also on a side note, but if the Asylum is based off of the Arkham games, we very well may get our first green skinned Poison Ivy variant through this. That would be really exciting. I think Harleys nurse outfit from the first game would be lots of fun even if its very similar to her TLBM CMF series figure. If anything they should have a plethora of designs to choose from for her.

We've gotten our first Superman minifigure since 2021, and you're thinking about Apache Chief and Atom Smasher? :roflmao:

So as the Arkham Asluym game is T rated in the US there is a chance but the problem would be minifigures most of them would have to be new prints and if its off the game they probably wont be in jumpsuits as they didn't have jumpsuits in the game other than zsasz and ivy but they weren't standard ones.
I really hope so i imagine it that would sell better than BTAS or comic or other.

Hey, lay off Atom Smasher! He was in the smash hit film Black Adam, everyone wants Atom Smasher now

Would be funny if the supporting cast showed up before Adam himself.

…I forgot he even was in the movie :laugh_hard: I would like to see a minifig of his (and Doctor Fate), but what chance do they stand when even Robin is too much to ask for?!

The hierachy of power in the LEGO DC theme is about to stay the same.

No re-uses is the trick. If 2-4 of the minifigures are guards or doctors made of re-used parts from other themes, and another 4-5 are inmates all using the same head and torso, they could probably get out of it with the same amount of new prints as the average marvel modular.

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say only 10 minifigures in a $400 set with 2-4 generic civilians made from existing pieces and 4-5 using the same torsos and legs would be one of the worst minifigure lineups in history. Not to mention it’d completely defeat the point of making it video game based if the designs are all generic jumpsuits instead of the video game designs.

But notice how I am not ruling it out.

If they had sets out alongside the film I probably would have bought a small or mid range one with Doctor Fate. Some of my friends would have too- and did end up buying other doctor fate merch- all of us who saw it agreed Black Adam wasn't remotely interesting but that Doctor Fate looked awesome.

But I mean that's expecting lego to produce non batman figures.

See, you know, with that last sentence. You know that it sounds like something they would do.

Right? If that happens then the five new figures would probably just be Batman, Joker, Harley, Mr Freeze and Penguin or Catwoman again

This sounds more and more plausible come to think of it

Honestly the costume designs were great in that film, if they had minifigures you could just put hair on Black Adam and swap out Atom Smasher's arms and have figures pretty close to the comics

Right, remember how it was a massive beacon of hope we were even getting a Superman figure last year? Now if we get Chris O'Donnell Robin it'll be a welcome surprise.

We're devolving year upon year

lol I literally said in the post you quoted that its almost guaranteed not to happen. the fact of the matter is the template they created for huge figures works perfect for various DC (and even some Marvel) characters, and I was lamenting how that potential would never be fulfilled. Kinda redundant tbh.

This works for his old job as well, seeing as his wrestling diary changes depending on how well his film career is going at that moment.

You say this ironically but I would gladly pay for a buildable Atom Smasher set lol. As long as its not like the buildable Ant Man we got recently, I like my buildable figures blocky like Ares or the up scale figure set.

My point exactly. This new system works sooooo well for various characters its a shame they won’t take advantage of it.

Between the building system for giant figures being perfected, to the vidiyo head mould that works perfect for Clayface, I am constantly reminded how good this theme could be, but likely never will.

The atom maybe?

Or maybe a big batman with a minifig atom to represent a shrunk down atom? We know they love batman.

Lol I figure they’d just make the Atom a micro figure and a regular mini figure. But this idea is so campy and ridiculous I almost enjoy it.

well ita a good start to the new DC sets on the lego Australia website,  2 are sold out and 1 is on back order.

hope everyone in the group is supporting the Superman mech to ensure we get more DC sets down the track other then Batman.

if not, stop your whinging and go out and buy it to support the theme.

Anyone else seen the rather blurry Arkham image? It looks promising if it's legit.

Please tell me you're not talking about the very-obvious fake from November on Instagram.

As far as I remember, we know and have seen nothing from this set besides the set number and its price.

It’s a fake. For one, the guy who posted it admitted it was a fake in the comments. For another, it was posted by TheBrickMisinformer.

Do you reckon you could have been a teensy bit more condescending when constructing your reply? Your sense of superiority didn't quite come through enough.

As a matter of fact of a fact, I have.

I believe it’s fake. But a rather convincing fake at that.

Thank you.

I've only seen it in a reel and don't know the significance of that username.

Ah, gotcha. Not sure if your native language is English or not, but here’s the definition for misinform.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/misinform

I know what the word means, but a username doesn't always dictate the identity of the person behind the screen. For example it may come as a shock but I am neither the fictional antihero Red Hood, nor am I an actual pug.

This is true, but generally when a news outlet has "misinform" in their name I think it's safe to assume they are a parody account or other fake outlet.

Very disappointed to hear you aren't the real Red Hood, my day is ruined. I was really hoping you were going to someday make at least one city in New Jersey a safe place to live.
