wesker Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 I'm wondering if the Batcave will be based on Batman Forever specifically. It makes more sense for the set to be focused on just one Schumacher movie than trying to cram both together and next year is the film's 30th anniversary. The Riddler's attack on the Batcave/Wayne Manor was also a pretty big moment from the film the set could take inspiration from. Batman, Robin, Riddler, Two-Face, Alfred (reused from Shadowbox) and Chase Meridian would be a solid realistic line up for a set like this. Quote

The set has 909 pieces (with a 100€ price) and it's releasing on August 1st. The big thing though? Apparently it's based on Schumacher's Batman movies—one leaker has posted the above information with the Batman & Robin Batcave in the background, and another is saying that this image is very important to this particular set. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Comic, new batman adventures even nolan but noooooooooo Comic cmf 2 only salvation Sounds like a troll, not sure if you or the leaker made that up Edited December 22, 2024 by thephantasm Quote

RedHoodPug Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 It sounds like TLG have story gaming dice, one with six Bat-builds, one with age ranges, and the other with the stipulations. We'll make a *rolls* Batcave, and it will be *rolls* Schumacher based and *rolls* 7+. Will they buy it? Who cares, the dice have been rolled. Quote
thephantasm Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 (edited) Wheres the source it still sounds made up I feel like a schumaccer set would disappoint despite what posters here might think. Edited December 22, 2024 by thephantasm Quote

I wouldn't doubt it, the fact we got a Superman mech was an act of divine (meaning Dummy based) intervention, a Superman side randomly appeared on the dice, no-one understood why but if anyone in the DC department goes against the D=dice they're taken behind a poundland and shot so no-one dared question it Quote

I don't know how many kids these days are big fans of the Schumacher films as opposed to modern glorified toy commercials. Those movies aren't exactly shining examples of staying power. 6 hours ago, RedHoodPug said: It sounds like TLG have story gaming dice, one with six Bat-builds, one with age ranges, and the other with the stipulations. There's a six-sided die with each ninja's name on it, a second die with some price ranges, and a third one with mech/jet/car/motorcycle/combo vehicle/dragon. If the die gets stuck on an edge or something we get a villain themed set or a temple respectively. 6 hours ago, RedHoodPug said: Who cares, the dice have been rolled. THE DIE IS CAST Quote
psqidexslizer Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Any way you slice it, set for an upcoming Superman movie but a $100 set for one of the worst films of all time is absolutely insane. Maybe Lego does hate DC. Quote

Okay, they're not anywhere near the worst films of all time, but assuming that they're not solely based on Batman Forever it is damming that they're willing to touch one of the biggest bombs in the genre's history with Batman and Robin Quote
NovaBricks Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Batman Forever is as close to a true comic movie as there is. Whether or not that’s a good thing is for you to judge. Quote

Batman and Robin is overwhelmingly, comically bad, to the extent that it's hilarious, but Batman forever's just... bad. It's not BORING, like some other bad films, but it's neither a good movie nor is it comically bad, so it's just kind of... there. Quote
Max_Lego Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Hot take: while the Riddler was ruined by Schumacher's vision of the character, Jim Carrey's performance was the best thing he could do. I wonder what Robin Williams' take would've been like... Quote

It was so bad, DC took a break from making Batman films are 6 years, rebooted the series in a wildly different direction, and we have yet to see Robin, Batgirl, Mr Freeze, or Poison Ivy appear in another film. Heck, the director and cast even apologized for making it. That said, I do kinda enjoy Batman Forever just for Jim Carrey and I will gladly add the Schumacher characters to my collection. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 (edited) I don't really want a Shumacher Batcave, but if it has the turntable that's a plus. I really liked that feature in the old 2006 Batcave. And then an Uma Thurman Poison Ivy might be nice to have. That movie's version of Bane would also look pretty good as a minifigure. I do find it kind of hard to believe this rumor, however. A playscale Burton Batave or 66 Batcave? Sure. Versions from the Nolan or Reeves films or BTAS? Alright. But Batman and Robin of all things? The movie has its appreciators (I'm one of them) but it's not particularly beloved or well-remembered compared to any other version.... Batman Forever is a little more believable, but I don't find that too exciting. It would mean a somewhat more traditional Robin minifigure, at least. But honestly a turntable for the Batmobile would still be the biggest draw for me. :P Edited December 22, 2024 by SoupOrFishOil Quote

Heck, the director and cast even apologized for making it. Sure but on basic elements of filmmaking craft it's nowhere close, like pretty much everything in it is competently done it's just all in service of a script and tone no-one was a fan of. I think as a movie Forever is actually a lot worse because it's really awkwardly edited (Schumacher's original version was apparently much more centered on Bruce as a character but that got hacked off in favour of a lighter romp) leaving a film that's not really sure what it wants to be, Batman and Robin is going 90s Adam West and I think it does capture that pretty perfectly 1 hour ago, Mandalorianknight said: Hot take: Batman forever is less enjoyable than Batman and Robin. Lego Nostalgia Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 A TDKR Batcave with Batman,Bane,Catwoman and Alfred would be cool, include a Batpod and Bane's Tumbler Quote

Darth_Bane13 Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 kinda crazy how the 2006 batcave is still the best one we've gotten. Quote

I don't believe it, we all thought this set was to help bleed figures from the arkham d2c, hard to imagine arkham would be based off of schumaccher, that is a large gamble And apparently the whole forever rumor is just based on the pic used by another leaker Edited December 23, 2024 by thephantasm Quote

Batman and Robin 4. Batman Forever Quote
calebcold3 Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Assuming there is merit to 76304 being Schumacher Based, I can already imagine the cursed Minifigure line up: 1. Batman (with a New Torso) 2. Batgirl (Head and hair Reused from 2024 4+ Batcave on new torso) 3. Bruce Wayne (Michael Scott Torso with 2012 Bruce Wayne Head with black hair piece, so pretty much the Professor X Figure with Black Hair) 4. Mr. Freeze (reuse from the 2025 4+ Batmobile) 5. Alfred (reuse from the Shadowbox Batcave) And of course, knowing LEGO recently, no Robin in sight. Quote
