Hi everyone!

I finally finished and shot my 1:5 scale Technic motorcycle. It's based on the 2012 KTM 690 Duke, a fun and light motorcycle I owned and loved!

It has a punchy single cylinder engine with single over-head camshaft that I tried to replicate faithfully with a 3 studs bore and 2 studs stroke.

bore (piston diameter)          stroke (piston travel)

Lego                   3 stud   24 mm                     2 stud  16 mm

Lego x5                  120 mm                             80 mm

Real life                  102 mm                            84.5 mm

Features:

  • Detailed fake engine with big bore piston, timing chain, camshaft and a lightbrick to demonstrate ignition/combustion
  • Sequential gearbox 1-N-2-3
  • Detailed tubular trellis frame
  • Suspension and steering
  • Motorized display stand (bluetooth)
  • Many engine and bike details (clutch, alternator, radiator with fan and pipes...)

The gearbox is made with the Yamaha new pieces

Frontpaged.

On a side note: can everyone else see the pictures?
Joko, as with your previous posts, I tried using three different browsers, but none of them show the pictures, only a stream of letters.

I see the photos well. Sometimes I have like you sequences of characters in posts, no idea why!

Did you frontpage without seeing the pictures? :look:

I tried on mobile firefox and chrome, did take a few seconds for the links to turn into pictures.

Thanks for confirming. Can't remember having this anywhere else on the forum.

Initially I read the post on a tablet, all was good, then when on the PC, the pics wouldn't show.
Nevermind, let's talk about the cycle1.gif

That's a nice bike
I love the detailed engine with timing belt and ignition.
Do you have more detailed pictures/video on it?

Stream of characters / no pictures here (Firefox)

right click -> open image in new tab
leads to some M$ OneDrive error reading something like "this element can't be loaded at the moment".

I have the same issue of only having lines of string instead of pictures. I can only see them if I open the thread in a private Firefox window. Had that same issue with the last posts, too.

Anyways: cool bike! That orange frame looks really good. Also nice density of mechanisms

I remember seeing and liking the WIP topic, so I'm glad to see that you finished the model! It looks good!

Also, pics work fine for me, on web Firefox

The use of the light brick to show the ignition/combustion is seriously wicked! *oh2*

MOC makers should be taking notes of that for future inspiration.

Actually I was inspired by this one: https://youtu.be/WnrrxUuZl4c?si=bgbNKofEhxsHrjb3
