*thomas* Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Hi all I'm building some easy mocs based on RC base plates. I have a spare RC motor and controller, but would need a base plate. My own base plates all have a black switch, but there's on for sale that has a red switch. Will it work with my controllers? What's the story behind these? I'm tempted to buy one, because it also has a larger opening to feed a power cable trough, making it suitable to use a second motor for heavier trains. Cheers Thomas Quote
zephyr1934 Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Looks like you've already grabbed an image from the BL listing. Under "additional notes" it says, "This part is known to have 2 variants with different switch color and cutout size as shown in the additional image." Generally BL is true about lego (though for some rare items it is incomplete) and the fact that the studs have "LEGO" on them is also a telling sign, usually the cloners stay away from the TM. I don't believe Lego changed the communications protocol so as long as the electronics still work it should be compatible. Quote
*thomas* Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 I do feel a bit stupid now: I didn't see the additional info on Bricklink. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Nothing to fret about. Nothing is obvious until you know where to look for it. Quote
LegoAlf Posted January 8 Posted January 8 @Thomas: Just search for 55455 in Bricklink. It will show you the correct train base with the information mentioned. Quote
