JohnTPT17 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 The Book Nook idea was first voiced by be - I just thought it was odd that the leak came from nowhere and didn't seem to have any other sets tied to it. Ergo, it could have been some kind of a one-off retailor exclusive, which is why my mind went there. If we're getting more Sony Spider-Man sets, though, my idea could very well be wrong! Quote

I assumed they were just normal bookends, which case I was imagining something like this: *image* Love the image. Thanks for making me laugh today. I feel like a system set would be most likely for this scene, anyway, as the most iconic shot is Tobey holding the train back with the webs, but it may be tricky to have the webs extending outwards but not connected to anything. Unless, of course, they built connections on the ends, but that would be a needless increase in the piece count (not that that’s never happened before). Getting more Sony Spider-Man products, with the original Tobey films and the Spider-Verse films, is great. I can’t wait to see what they have in store. Are they going to reuse the minifigure(s) from the NWH final battle set? I still see it around, so I assume it’s still in production, and the Tobey suit seems mostly accurate. A new Otto is much preferred, though. Quote
mrcngrck Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) I feel a little bit excited for non-mcu spider-man sets (proper ny subway car, doc ock with dark green coat) but I'm trying to cool down because looking at marvel set right now, they are bad, except the one, non-mcu spider-man for spider-verse (overpriced but good) actually... so maybe Edited January 7 by mrcngrck Quote

I've speculated a lot about sets relating to it. My ideal hope is that we'd get a Doc Ock Hideout remake. Most likely option would be: Origins set: Peter Parker, Spider-man, Green Goblin (Mask/helmet and glider) Doc Ock's train heist: Spider-man, Doc Ock, Train Driver, Civilian Spider-man 3 Final Battle (Suspended Taxi/scaffolding build + Sandman arm) with Venom, Sandman, New Goblin, Spider-man, Mary Jane and J.J.Jameson Quote
upliftingbricks Posted January 7 Posted January 7 With Sony Spiderman sets being rumoured, I wonder if the "Spiderverse" CMF leak does turn out to be "ITSV/ATSV" based or ends up being generic "Spiderverse" with anything up for grabs (whether all Sony or all Spiderman). Any good Modulars from Sony Spiderman? All I can think of is Flatiron Bugle but Bugle already exists on shelves. Quote

I do hope it's generic spiderverse, there's so many cool spider-man variants that aren't in the movie. I would really like some of the major players from the comic. Yeah, I don't think Sony Spider-man needs a modular, there aren't many buildings that would really make sense. Even past that, I think any raimi spider man modular would struggle to including interesting minifigures- in terms of costumed characters, you have Spidey, Goblin, Ock, Venom, Sandman, and New Goblin, and that's it. Sure, you could stretch it a bit by adding the Raimi symbiote suit or something, but still not many. I'd rather have a comic oscorp with a few sony characters coming out of a portal or something. (Or the Baxter Building, or the Avengers Mansion, or what have you) before a Raimi modular. 3 hours ago, Rwbricks said: Love the image. Thanks for making me laugh today. I would assume they'll re-use Tobey, no reason not to (though I hope he comes with a new unmasked head- he's not masked in the iconic part of the scene and they head they gave him in the NWH set doesn't work great). I hope they'll do a new Otto though, especially because the set really doesn't have a ton of costumed characters- civlians and/or a train conductor could get away with re-using parts. I actually am really interested to see how this turns out because aside from the modulars, I can't think of the last time we got a (non-Pepper Potts) civilian in a marvel set. 2019 Aunt May? Potentially Katy from Shang-Chi in 2021? Also I finally did pick up marvel rivals (THE MOON HAUNTS YOU) and have really enjoyed it- it's also very popular, so I could see Rivals designs showing up in the generic comic sets if it's still popular down the line. thebricksbear Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Honestly I'm not buying the rumor. Seems like the discord comment is derivative of the other. NGL tho, if not Spiderverse, I'd really just rather they build out the 'comics' rogues gallery. Rhino headpiece in Spidey & Friends was nice but we're due a new Kraven when the dvd hits (a la Morb) and a few others. Quote

Renown is one of the most reliable leakers out there—he seldom posts anything, but when he does, you know it'll happen. And what's wrong with the Discord comment? It's also from a really reliable source. Quote

They could just do a minifig Sandman. Though given we've got two giant men coming in a 6 month period, you're right that it's not unlikely they'll just slightly modify the NWH expansion model and plot it in the Raimi set. Quote

Thats the point I was making that the initial rumour could have been slightly misunderstood or phrased badly. Spider-verse is a generic term for spiderman universe not just ITSV/ATSV and Sony spider-verse could mean anything Sony Spiderman related even if the initial rumours are 100% accurate Quote

Sure, even proper leaks from reliable sources have involved misunderstandings before, but there‘s nothing to suggest that‘s the case here Besides, most people associate „Spider-verse“ with the movies. If the CMF series was comic-based, they would‘ve simply used „Spider-man“ to avoid any confusion. None of the comic-based sets, even the ones that feature the same multiversal characters as the movies did, ever used that term before. Quote

Im not saying its likely just that spider-verse could have been misunderstood/misused/mistranslated/misseen or any other mis word to explain the current rumour being wrong. Until we know more we wont know so we can speculate on why we're all of a sudden getting multiple different Spiderman content sets and if/how they could connect. Quote
cosmic Posted January 8 Posted January 8 So sort of off topic because I don't think this should happen for the Spider-verse series, but I do hope that eventually, one of the licensed CMF series we get has over 12 figures, back to the original 16 or more like the Disney Series had and imo should continue to have. Marvel Series 2, the Muppets and the DnD Series all had 12 figures, so it seems Lego has not only kept this format for their own original series, but for Licensed ones as well. I think for all these series, 12 was a good number. I don't remember enough of into the spider verse, and I honestly haven't seen across the spider verse yet either, so its hard to say if this franchise needs 16 slots. But in a general sense, I would like to see a comic based Marvel cmf series, or a Disney Series 4 to have over 12 slots. Just a personal wish. Quote

I remember when the Harry Potter series was something close to 20 figures and now we're almost half of that. Quote

I remember when the Harry Potter series was something close to 20 figures and now we're almost half of that. I understood that for their original series, the pressure to come up with professions, archetypes and original concepts can be immense, and it may be easier to shorten the series from 16 to 12 to relieve some pressure, and also extend the lifeline of the theme by allowing certain concepts and designs to be spread out throughout various years. But that makes sense for original CMF designs. For licensed series, there are already existing designs and characters and sometimes, the licensed theme has more than 12 characters that need to be represented. I personally would be very upset if Disney Series 4 had a 12 figure roster. There are still so many designs left to cover for Disney, we're gonna need a lot of Series to cover what's missing if we put out 12 figures at a time. That said, not sure the Spider verse series is going to be the one to get more than 12 designs, lol. Quote

Agent Kallus Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Don't these sets often release in different time windows in different regions anyway? So a few months later is really no big deal, probably better for sales if it comes out closer to the movie release anyway. Quote

Yeah, we in the states got the AT-TE a few weeks later than everyone else due to shipping or something. And some years ago we used to get star wars waves several months later- I remember ordering some of the 2017 RO sets from the UK in january so I didn't have to wait two months. Quote
