Black Falcon Posted January 13 Posted January 13 So we are getting another set without (moulded) Dinosaur it seems. Wondering what it will be since we already got a buildable Dino and a Skull, and I don´t really think we will get a second of either. Quote
icm Posted January 13 Posted January 13 With those parts counts, 76973 is probably a T-rex transport and 76976 is probably a base with two big dinos, maybe a Spino and a Mosa. Quote
AxolotlPlays Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Well he does say that due to the good PPP Ratio of that set it is likely to be similar to those other buildable baby dinosaurs, but who knows, maybe due to the size of the Titanosaur in the film and as its an important animal supposedly, we might get it but brick built? FinlayTheFaithful Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Just one more Chaos Theory set among the bunch, that's my only wish until more details surface Quote

I heard a rumour there would be a small mascot dinosaur so maybe it could be that brick-built like Bumpy was? Very unsubstantiated rumour but r/jurassicpark talked about a small Aquilops the size of a cat. Quote

Thats true, i have heard the same rumours, as long as the build whatever it is looks good, im happy with it, but i would prefer more Rebirth sets, not sure about any JW 10th Anniversary anymore Quote
mantax Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I'm not a fan of there being another buildable dinosaur set, or at least it definitely isn't a regular set based on that PPP, as that means that there will be just 4 standard sets for the film. I could say that there would be at least one more set, since exclusive sets are always revealed later. But still that feels a bit small compared to Dominion for example, which had 9 sets. 76972 285 pieces $35 has to be a set with a small dinosaur(most likely a velociraptor), for the build I would expect that car that we have seen from some images, but that feels like a bit too much pieces for just a car, so I could also see there being a small side build. 76975 199 pieces $50 has an awful ppp part, even for Jurassic standards, so I could see this being a Mososaurus set, which would also include a boat That would explain that price and the small age range, as the build would mostly be one big boat piece with stuff added on it. 78976 - Has to be a big base/lab set, which would include 2 big dinos, my guess for that would be the Spino and maybe the T-rex. 76973 583 pieces $100 - this might be the titanosaurus set, for the builds I could see this maybe having a tree and a vehicle. The most important thing for the movie are the 3 biggest dinos from Land, sea and air, so what I wrote here leaves Quetzalcoatlus without a set, so I would expect for the lego store exclusive to be that, or it could be swapped with 76973, but I really don't see a $100 set to be just for the quetz. THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Wow, those prices are absolutely awful. I am also kind of surprised we're only getting four actual sets for this movie (without counting a buildable dinosaur). As a start, I'd say that three dinosaurs are essential to the movie's plot—Titanosaurus, Mosasaurus, and Quetzalcoatlus (although I could see them skipping the latter). Then you've also got a T. Rex and a Spinosaurus, which are too iconic to skip. The last one that is almost guaranteed to appear (probably in more than one set) would be an Aquilops, since it's really small and is apparently the mascot of the movie. 76970: The most obvious buildable dinosaur if I've ever seen one. As I've said, an Aquilops is the mascot for the merchandise, so it fits perfectly here. 76972: The PPP ratio is fairly good, so probably nothing more than a Velociraptor. It's supposedly more colorful (like JP3 ones), so maybe they'll use the Pyroraptor mould. 76973: The PPP ratio is worse than some 4+ sets, so I expect at least two fairly-sized dinosaurs. I'd say that Mosasaurus or Titanosaurus would be one of the dinosaurs in this set, since they require huge specialised moulds. Then, to justify the price point, they'd add a Quetzalcoatlus (which they already have a mould for). 76975: One of the worst PPP ratio I've seen in a modern, regular set. The price isn't that high, so I'm expecting one huge dinosaur—again, either a Mosasaurus or a Titanosaurus. 76976: The PPP ratio is bad, but not as bad as the other set—so I'm expecting two big dinosaurs, but one of them with existing moulds. Hence—Spinosaurus and a T. Rex (unfortunately they'll probably lock the most desirable dinosaur behind the biggest set they have). Quote
Dinobricks Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I do fear there may be not many rebirth sets, but I also get that's an unpopular opinion. 9 hours ago, Black Falcon said: I hope not. Chaos Theory could get more Sets next year while it is unlikely we will get more Sets for this movie after this year. I totally agree with you. Personally, I think (and want) them all to be rebirth sets. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I‘m not surprised we‘re „only“ getting 4-5 sets based on Rebirth as it‘s essentially a soft reboot. Sure, it‘s still a sequel to JWD (and thus technically JP7), but with an entirely new cast, so it could be perceived as more risky compared to JWFK and JWD Then again, kids mostly care about the dinosaurs and not the human characters, so there may be other factors at play. That said, 4-5 sets is still great in comparison because other big releases this year either only get one set (F4) or none (Thunderbolts*, Supes) Quote

I don't see kids being more likely to buy / ask for sets based on one over the other. It's still dinosaurs with some cool minifigures and nice vehicles. Jurassic is one of the only franchises that doesn't really rely on its characters, especially from the longterm perspective. People just want to see big dinosaurs, and the movie will make bank anyway—whether it's Sam Neill, Chris Pratt, or Scarlett Johansson. Quote
Dinobricks Posted January 14 Posted January 14 One thing I will be disappointed at is if only like 3 of the summer sets are for rebirth. Hopefully all of them are. 5 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: I‘m not surprised we‘re „only“ getting 4-5 sets based on Rebirth as it‘s essentially a soft reboot. AxolotlPlays Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Brick Fanatics also has 76974 on their grid of everything else which we know about, so hopefully that is true, that'll give us 6 sets (as that good PPP isnt confirmed as a buildable dino, but an educated guess from what i understand), and the important species from the rumours are Quetzalcoatlus, Mosasaurus, Titanosaurus, Spinosaurus, Mutant Dino and probably Aquilops. T.rex and Velociraptor are easy ones that are staples of this franchise so i'd assume they'd have to go somewhere too, i worry they'll skip important species, but becuase species like Quetzalcoatlus have already been created, it should be cheaper for Lego to produce right? Maybe not by much but better than nothing anyways lol Quote
Matichado Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Here are my predictions: 76972: I’m CERTAIN this is a pteranodon set because of the piece count: it has 104 more pieces than blue and betas’ set and that set retailed for the same price, amd we know LEGO loves to do cheap sets with pteranodons. I’m just hoping it’s a brand new color scheme: I’m hoping it’s either either tan and azure, black and white with yellow eyes, or tan and brown. It will probably be a chopper now that I think abt it and will probably include 2 figs and I hope it includes a mini aquilops 76975: I think this one will 100% be the mosasaurus maybe with a boat of some kind 75973: I’m pretty much certain this will have spinosaurus and a hervibore dinosaur which I’m praying is maiasaura. 75976: this would be the set with the Titanosaurus (what a weird pick for biggest land creature, Titanosaurus only 13 tons) as for the second Dino I don’t think it would be a T. rex because the sauropod molds are too big for there to also be a T. rex so I’m going to say it will include gallimimus and velociraptor and include an enclosure similar to the one from Dino 2012 and lastly I’m going to speculate that there will be 1 more store exclusive aside from the one we know is comming out. for the 1st store exclusive I say it will be 76971: im saying this will be a 50$ with 250ish pieces set that will include a brand new ankylosaurus color scheme with a small truck And 76974 would be a set with T. Rex Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I'm fairly sure 76971 and 76974 might just not exist. LEGO loves randomly skipping set numbers, and we've heard nothing about those two. For now, I think it's safe to assume they are non-existent, unless proven otherwise. Quote

Brickmerge also has no entries for these numbers, so it‘s very unlikely they exist Quote
mantax Posted January 17 Posted January 17 49 minutes ago, AxolotlPlays said: Lego teasing that Parasaurolophus again lol That doesn't mean absolutely anything, as the magazine has had plenty of lego like dinosaurs featured in it before that we didn't get in lego form yet, which I also believe are just from that Lego Jurassic World show. Speaking of the magazine, I really love what comes with the next issue. In the Dreamzzz magazine there was a character with just 2 regular stud shooters on the back, but here in the one from a more realistic world they just have an ACU guard with a 6 stud shooter, and a poor baby raptor which most likely is there as something to shoot at. It really doesn't have anything special included in it, but it just feels quite fun, by how absurd it is. Quote

Yeah, Also a lot Dinos exist in Lego "form" because they were designed to include them in the Lego Jurassic Video games, so reusing existing material is pretty easy IMO. And probably they have plenty of unused designs from concepts for Sets that didn´t make it into production anyways. Quote
AxolotlPlays Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Yeah, it is a shame really, wish we got the design of Brach in a set from the video game lol, that would've been beautiful, and ridiculously expensive 🤣 Well i reckon one day we will get a Lego Para, especially considering that it is the only species that has appeared in every cannon movie/show (counting the prologue into Dominion of course lol). Fingers crossed 2027 TLW 30th anniversary! Quote
Lion King Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I think I do prefer video game Brachiosaurus over the actual one from 2023 too. I cannot believe that we haven’t gotten Para for so many years…. Quote

Yeah, the colours, the size and posability are much better on the video game, the molding on the one we git is still beautiful, but it doesnt beat the the games one lol Quote
