Aramar Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Today I finally finished building the Snow White cottage that I bought a couple months ago. I'm very happy with this set and I've enjoyed the building process. Personally I would have preferred a simplified roof so that the set was cheaper. The roof alone has hundreds of pieces. That being said, I hope Lego continues making this kind of iconic sets with a lot of minifigures. Winnie Pooh's house, UP house, Snow's Cottage and the upcoming Lilo and Stitch's Beach House are my favourite Lego sets. Come on Lego, give us more Disney houses! (The Madrigal House, for example, or Rapunzel's tower, or Arendelle's castle, or Aurora's cottage, or Merlin's tower, or Notre Dame, or Prince Eric's castle, or Tarzan's tree house, or the Emperor of China's Palace from Mulan...) karrit Posted January 11 Posted January 11 There have been several versions of the Madrigal House, multiples of Rapunzel's Tower as well as Arendelle Castle. Granted they are mostly playsets but they do exist already. Quote

At any rate, those minidoll sets were targeted towards a different market. 8 hours ago, Aramar said: You're right, but I meant with minifigures instead of minidolls Exactly! Re-make them, geared towards adult nostalgia! Snow White cottage did go on backorder a few days after release, and I believe it's gone on backorder at least once after that. Quote

There's already Notre Dame. We just need the minifigures of Quasimodo, Esmeralda and the gargoyles (maybe in the next CMF) Also, Tarzan is off the table, unless Disney regains th Quote

Rapunzel and Flynn are too expensive as stand alone minifigures. I can buy a whole set for that money. Encanto only has Bruno in minifigure form. Kristoff and Hans from Frozen have never been made in minifigures. So even if the locations exist in minidoll sets, most of the matching characters aren't available in minifigure form or are extremely expensive. Quote
Lion King Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I want Belle and Maurice’s cottage or the Beast’s castle!!! Quote
karrit Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) I agree with everyone that we need more Disney Minifig sets. I totally missed the minifig reference in the original post about the Snow White Cottage. I would like a few more detailed Disney sets with Minifigures rather than Minidolls like almost everyone else. I guess that's what has kept me from actually buying any of the Rapunzel sets or some of the other sets I might have considered getting. And I don't want any of the smaller micro mini dolls or whatever they call them like what they used in the Advent Calendar. I did buy & build the Snow White Cottage. It was such a lovely set and enjoyable build. I even built a mine for the Dwarfs. Edited January 12 by karrit Quote
DisneyLego Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Just picked up the 3 CMF I wanted from Series 27, boogeyman being one of them, and am I way off or could we see that head mold used for the beast? I know we’ve had the yeti/bigfoot but they didnt allow for horns. The boogeyman headpiece has the horns and allows for anything to be printed on the front due to it being flat and not structured like the previous yeti head. By no means do I want this to be the case but as I was putting it together I couldn’t help but think of it being used for the beast in minifig form Quote

Not only to The Beast's horns not stick out that far or at that angle, but his head is not that big, nor would printing on the lower half of that mold for clothing look good. Honestly, the Friends mold is honestly pretty good for a minifigure (outside of the "cute" eyes). Quote

You’re likely right (and hopefully are), wasn’t necessarily thinking they’d print clothing on the head piece, I was just trying to point out that with it being flat, it allows for any style “face” to be printed, whereas the previous yeti mold had more structure to the front which limits the printing the friends mold is good but wasn’t familiar with their history of repurposing special pieces/molds like that across both minidolls and minifigs Edited January 12 by DisneyLego Quote

Not sure how Beast's features would look with it mostly just printed. 15 hours ago, JohnTPT17 said: Interesting idea, but I think the chances for that are nearly zero. But maybe some day... Same, I would have loved a Sleeping Beauty castle set. Especially if they used the Disneyland Paris design because there are some excellent MOCs for that. I don't think the new castle has really been selling all that well since it's basically just a reskinned version of the original castle set. By this time, most everyone who wanted that castle would already have bought the original during its long shelf life. I would definitely like more Disney minifigs, not just for new characters but also new minifigs of previously existing characters who weren't done well the first time around. Namely Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, and Sorcerer's Mickey since their minifigs were more based on how they look in the Disney Parks or merchandise rather than how they look in the movies. But I'd also like to see more animal molds. There are a lot of classic Disney animal characters who deserve the Lego treatment like Figaro, Thumper, Flower, Timothy Mouse, Jaq, Gus, Lady, Tramp, Pongo, Perdita, Abu, Iago, Timon, Pumbaa, Zazu, Meeko, Flit, Percy, Djali, Scuttle, etc. Quote

Completely agree. I wonder if lego is bound to stay within certain ratios of pieces to minifigs, because the house couldve been half as big as it is and would've been far more successful if it still included the same figs. Honestly looking back it was not a great build experience for how big the set was. The last handful of bags were all the ridiculously complicated roof, and I just wanted to be done. Quote

Then they replaced it with the regular box. How long do we expect this to be on the shelves? Lego probably thinks that just because the castle did not sell well, then there is no market out there. LOL And yes, we need more of those supporting characters! Quote
