the Inventor Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Fastrum is an important town of Hellum that lies just north of the upper Ebba. Today, many inhabitants and even some travelers from Faldia are feasting in the town as the grand carnival is held today. -- A new build in the Whispering Woods series. mrcp6d Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Great MOC! I dig the different styles of half-timber structure and of course the jesters doing their jolly thing bring the necessary life to the build. Cobblestone work is perfection for me here and the lower camera angle sells the overall immersion. Cool stuff! I do have a suggestion related to "MOC post-processing"--get some selection of dark and earth-tone construction paper or cardstock to cut and fill in the areas behind the windows in the facades. Easier than dealing with the photo editing to eliminate the bright background showing through windows and you're 100% sure no light is going to leak through single stud width walls if you've got those in a build. And, it's fast to achieve. Quote
the Inventor Posted January 1 Author Posted January 1 @mrcp6d Thank you, good suggestion for the windows, I already added some bricks behind it, but it still looks a bit too bright on some parts. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Wonderful glimpse of medieval buildings! What makes it all so real is the presence of the crowd and the circus people. The lady dressed in lilac and with red hair stole my heart! Quote
Sebeus I Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Lovely scene! It works very well with that background. Quote
hikouki Posted January 4 Posted January 4 I just love how you made the scene so animated! Fantastic work! Quote
the Inventor Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 Thanks all, glad you all like it so much, was fun putting this scene together. Quote
JopieK Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Wow, very nice @the Inventor. Is this still a a render or a real build? Quote
the Inventor Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 @JopieK Thank you, it's a real build, with a photo of the sky photoshopped behind it. Quote
JopieK Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Absolutely stunning photography and lighting as well! :) Quote
The Undo Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Such a lovely scene. The buildings are great, the cobblestones are nicely done, and one can never go wrong with a festivity scene :) Quote
