Posted January 1Jan 1 Today in the middle of winter it's Norway's turn, wrap up warm while I present the electric locomotive EL17. The NSB EL17 is a class of twelve electric locomotives built by Thyssen-Henschel and Norsk Elektrisk & Brown Boveri for the Norwegian State Railways (NSB). The class was built in two batches, the first delivered in 1982 and numbered 2221–2226; today I show you the EL17-2222 with rhombus pantographs; I found the same model with more modern pantographs, but I think that the rhomboid ones reflect more the era in which the locomotive was produced. For the NSB7 carriages I chose a clearly identifiable version: red livery and black stripe at the height of the windows. The convoy was supposed to be composed of a locomotive and two first and second class carriages (with respective head, tail and end of convoy lights)... ..but then a nice Chef arrived looking for a good job, appropriate to his status and I had to add a third carriage with a cafeteria. I know that coffee is popular and that in these carriages they serve perhaps more snacks than lunches ...but I'm more for sausages so allow me the license. I think that the convoy with three carriages is more harmonious, so having added the central carriage was worth the expense! The locomotive is managed via bluetooh with Sbrick and two 18650 lithium ion batteries, and at maximum speed the locomotive tips over at every curve, the weight of the carriages is necessary to safely launch the convoy at full power and perhaps use curves with a wider radius than the standard 40. January 1Jan 1 Now, this is what I call a Eurobricks 2025 train opener! This train is fantastic - the color alone makes me jump up and down. All these details at 6 wide ... crazy ... crazily nice and so well done. Well, what to expect from a master builder: Only the best. And then the video - 0:46: I don't know, but ... these hands look somehow familiar. Hmmm. 0:17: These look like they would nicely cook on a patio grill as well! To be honest @Phil B these are windscreens purchased for less than 20 cents (25 pieces brand new for 4,95 euros on Bluebrixx); the glass, instead, is Lego because the quality of the transparent is superior ...but the glass (always brand new) can be found for 10 cents. (Have to admit that occasionally I also use BB parts when the original Lego ones aren't available in the needed colour, or for old moulds that are just too expensive - and last autumn I built an entire Peterbilt truck from clone bricks, just to test them... )

January 6Jan 6 Excellent train set, just how I remember NSB. Now the railway situation in Norway is just a mess (it's always been problematic but the politicians seems to always making it worse). I have so far not used "non-LEGO" bricks (I do have a mix of different tracks though)in my sets but I built a BR103 set that needs tan train window frames...

Thanks for the compliments. If you've to use tan colored windows then non-Lego is what you need
