The final ship set has to be a villain set right? There’s no way the MTT is the only play-scale villain vehicle of the year right? Something needs to counter the ARC 170, U-Wing, Ahsoka’s Interceptor, V-19 Torrent…

It makes no sense for Lego to allow the light-side to have complete aerial superiority. Who are they supposed to fight against?

From my point of view the MTT is the only hero vehicle being released :D

Those would be great alternatives instead of another clone one.

I just looked it up, and the leaker referred to it as a „Turbo Tank“, rather than a „Clone Turbo Tank“. I‘m still fully expecting a set based on the Battle of Kashyyyk, but combined with the smaller size, I could actually see this being the juggernaut from „The Believer“ instead  Mayfeld and Tank Driver Mando would be so cool to get!

But yeah, I really shouldn‘t get my hopes up. My predictions are wrong pretty often :snicker:

But yeah, you're right, with the exception of the X-wing being Halloween coloured for Poe all the others are way too similar to the OT ones to justify production. People who'd buy the sequel ones would probably be more likely to buy the OT ones than OT fans buying the sequel ones. Probably why they haven't done Captain Rex's Y-wing either.

Yeah, the resistance bomber from Last Jedi and the resistance transport from the force awakens are about the only fully original designs that are prominent enough to get sets again. The Raddus too, but that's too close to the Home One, and since we haven't gotten a system scale version of Home One yet I'd be shocked if they made the Raddus first.

Personally I'm a bigger First Order fan though, and they actually have new designs that could be made. I would absolutely love a UCS First Order Dreadnaught.

I don't understand why we aren't getting more Andor sets this year as it's probably the most popular and well liked Star Wars show, it's the only Disney Star Wars show met with near universal praise. I think it at least deserves the same number of sets as The Mandalorian got.

Because is its gritty and dark. It doesn't lend itself well to toys.

I agree, but then realistically what sets could they do that would actually sell well to all ages. I feel like most would be £100 plus sets. I think the problem is and this goes for most things in SW is that people want the characters but a lot of the scenes they appear just don’t/can’t realistically transfer in to a set.

take Dedra can’t do a set where she’s torturing someone or when she’s sitting in a meeting room. I do hope season 2 offers a chance at more sets but I think the key is Andor success and popularity. Season 1 was very good but don’t think it had as high viewing numbers as the others shows, with it being the only new thing left this year I can see it being more popular

Well for one thing, The Mandalorian is objectively so much more popular than any other star wars show that it's almost silly. It might not have retained the juggernaut status it had, but the first season was MASSIVE. Baby Yoda alone was a cultural phenomenon none of the other shows have matched. It's really not hard to see why Mando gets the most show sets.

As for Andor specifically, it's the only star wars show that doesn't stick to family friendliness. As a result not many kids are watching it, not just because of maturity in terms of the traditional film/tv factors, but younger kids would just be bored. The best scenes in Andor tend to be monologues, ones that are incredible character work and thought provoking, but if you give a kid an option between that and a guy with a lightsaber slashing stuff up, it's no contest. Andor doesn't have the action-per-minute rate of the other shows, and what action we do get is a lot less "cool space battle" or "lightsaber duel" and more "our antihero shoots some guys in cold blood" or "rebel holds a rifle to an officer's innocent family".

Since it's not actively TV-MA, we can still get some sets, and I'm glad we do as I love the show, but it's not exactly a mystery as to why it's not getting the coverage other projects have.

Mandalorian season 1 and 2? Sure, but after season 3 I think people are tired of it at this point. Rethinking it though perhaps Andor doesn't have as much set potential but I still think we should get a couple more than we're getting. Lastly, Lego clearly is trying to cater to the teen/adult market more which is the exact target audience of Andor, not sure why we're acting like Lego hasn't made more mature sets.

Andor is the only SW show that’s gained viewership as the episodes came out.

Everything else had a decline in viewership as the show went on.

I wonder if the buildable Chopper is supposed to be a Rebels’ 10th Anniversary set of sorts.

18 sets? Good luck with that, I struggle to come up with 5 viable set ideas :laugh_hard: The Fondor and the TIE Avenger (?) are the only semi-realistic options.

A Partisan X-Wing or Aldani TIE Fighter are not likely since they tend to use OT vehicles primarily in OT sets (the RO Y-Wing and Solo TIE Fighter being the only notable exceptions).

The show just isn‘t toyetic enough for that many sets. And younger fans don‘t care about the show either, and that is still the core demographic

I honestly didn't know there were that many, I stopped watching the show after season 2 and I haven't kept up with the Lego sets.

Definitely not, since Rebels premiered in 2014  I think it‘s gonna be an Ahsoka tie-in instead.

I agree it'll likely be Ahsoka or just general star wars branding, but to be fair to @CloneCommando99, it wouldn't be the first time lego's released sets likely meant to coincide with an anniversary a year late.

For me the chopper set is an excuse for another buildable droid. He’s probably in top 5 most iconic droids in SW. they’ve already done the top 3 (3P0, R2 and BB8) with them doing K2S0 as well this year I’m hoping they’ve finished and won’t be doing any more

Watch, next year we will get a b1 and IG88 :)

Yeah, I agree, I'm not saying it's good that we're getting them, just that it's not impossible it was at some point meant to capitalize on rebels anniversary nostalgia.

It's been 8 years since the BB-8 statue so he's 100% getting a remake soon unfortunately, I wouldn't be shocked if we got the B1 and B2 too.

And then: Commando Droid, SM-33, Magna Guard, General Grievous, BB9E, Hu Yang, DT sentry droid…. And then they’ll start doing remakes.

It’ll never stop.

Everyone's forgetting about GONK.

Apologies- I actually would legitimately buy the GONK. He's a fan-favorite and by far the funniest character, and with his boxy shape I think it'd be really neat if they could have him be sort of hollow and leave an opening to store stuff (like a power bank) in there.

I hope eventually it will stop, but I think we're a couple years away from lego even realizing that this strategy won't work.

I believe I’m the only one here mildly excited for a V-19 Torrent. Sure, it’s no Headhunter or V-Wing, but it’s arguably one of the more iconic Clone Wars vehicles, besides the ARC-170. (For me, I always associate V-Wings with the Empire—probably because of TBB—and Headhunters aren’t that unique looking, per se.)

The news that it’ll come with Ventress is intriguing: If it’s based off the micro series, I hope Anakin is the second figure. As much as Clone Armour Obi-Wan is a coveted figure of mine, I believe that Durge would be a more fitting opponent. If it’s based off the canon show, then obviously TCW armoured Obi-Wan.

(That man looks so good in clone armour, I had to pause the episode, jump out of my Disney+ player, and look up TCW Obi on Bricklink—only to be horrified by those stark blue eyes.)

Clone fatigue is the only thing keeping my excitement for this set down. Still, I’m a sucker for cool and unique starfighters, so I’m looking forward to it.

Another buildable figure? Good Greef Karga, they’ve gone mad! I don’t even care what this one will be.

I think the final set will be a Y-Wing. It might be Clone Wars based, since Anakin was Gold Leader if I recall correctly. I would love an OT Y-Wing for the sake of an OT set this year, but really only if Vader’s TIE is included. If there isn’t a single OT playset this year I say we riot.

This year for LSW is definitely looking bleak. Creativity in set choice seems to be lacking, instead opting for a paint-by-numbers strategy prioritizing Clone sets first and everything else secondary.

“We need a Mando set for the kiddies,” becomes the 4+ N-1.

“We need a microfighter with a fan-favourite character so it’ll sell out and justify the line’s existence,” becomes the Plo Koon SF.

“We need small but overpriced collector sets for the OT and PT fanatic in his 50s who’s collection is starting to eat him out of house and home,” becomes the midi-Home One and Acclamator.

“We need sets that will appease clone army-builders,” becomes the ARC, the 327th, the UT-AT, and who knows how many more.

“We need more sets that those SW Youtubingers will buy to livestream and display in their studio,” becomes all the buildable junk we’re getting.

I’m mildly hyped for the UT-AT and Galactic Marines since both are new (if Ree-Yees can get a figure, why not Snowtroopers in maroon?). MTT being a CW set is disappointing; a brown MTT could’ve given us so many Ep. 1 characters we haven’t had in years. I personally don’t get the hype for 327th, am I stupid?

The U-Wing didn’t excite me all too much at first since it’ll be undersized (again), but anything non-Clone-based is something celebratory. UCS Slave 1 being $300 is slightly upsetting, since the Tudor Corner is $240 for around 3000 pieces.

I mourn the loss of the slim chance we’d get a TFA playset or a smaller Skeleton Crew set with SM-33 and Brutus.

Rats, BrickBob Studpants beat me to the zany speculation that the Turbo Tank is based off The Believer. Anyway, I’d genuinely love the set to come with Miggs Mayfield and a Shore Trooper (lunch tray included). I don’t believe it’d be too harmful for it to be Mando-based given it’s the smallest tank yet.

I'm with you on this. Already got the 2010 ARC-170 so from the new set I only really want the new pilot minifigures. The V-19 was made at the time when stickers were terrible and cracked so there's basically zero chance of finding one in good condition now. It definitely deserves a remake, and Ventress and Obi-Wan will be good figures if they do them right (I just REALLY hope they don't do anything stupid with Ventress's eyes. It's fine if they make them white like in the 2015 Anakin's Custom Starfighter set, but I'm worried they'd make them the terrible glowy blue type that they just love ruining figures with these days).

Also a P1 pilot. I don't like the new Clone design, so wouldn't care about the torso/legs, but at least with the new P1s their helmets are close enough to the 2013 design (not perfect though; they still managed to make some parts worse) that if the pilot gets a new helmet without the fin (no guarantee but hopefully) I could replace the helmets of my 2013-style pilots.

But even if the figures do end up not being great I'd still get the set in some way, maybe just get the build itself cheap on eBay.

Talking about the potential for a new pilot helmet, they could go further than just no fin and include the pipes that go from the chest box to the back of the helmet. The first order pilot had something similar and it would be a cool way to make the mould a little more than just no fin?

It would limit the ability to turn the head though.

I'm wondering if the reason we're getting a new P1 pilot helmet might be that they plan to use it for other, similar helmet designs *cough* clone commandos *cough*, so the pipes will be a good indicator of whether or not that'll be the case.

Yup. They're compartmentalizing way too much. Mando 4+ for younger kids, only 18+ gimmicks for OT fans (since clearly they're all old geezers who would never buy standard system sets...) and older PT fans, and clone sets for... who, exactly? Do they think the kids are all super into clones exclusively? Like don't get me wrong, they're popular, but so are mando and grogu and the empire and Luke. Have they finally realized there is a somewhat significant number of teens and adults who buy the system sets, but they did so by stumbling upon exclusively the MandR and Lifebricks channels?

What's funny is lego overusing the clones has entirely stopped my hype for them, if this was even two years ago I'd be over the moon. They're one of my favorite legions, because, as Callum says,
