jus1973 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I couldn’t find a dedicated thread for this so here’s one. My first thoughts are that there is some serious design in it, especially in the top floor walls and roof. I don’t see how it could have been done differently without printed tiles. Hats off to the designer for a really good build which captures the look and feel of these kind of buildings. It’s right up there with the best in my opinion. A couple of things that I’ll change. Number one being making the bar actually have traditional British style beer taps. If i have enough dark green, then I’ll change the right hand wall colour, as you go up the steps to the first floor. Whilst on those steps, I’ve removed the jumper tile beneath them, as its just too tight a grip to pull the stairs out with it there. A couple of oddities. Number one, the down pipe on the side of the top floor, which doesn’t go anywhere. Oddly, I had a number of black spare pipes and odds, that look like they could be used to extend it somehow. (It’s also possible I missed something in the build so will recheck). The lack of kitchen, bathroom and bedroom in the top floor is odd, and I can see it would be super cramped up there if you tried to fit it in. It kind of makes it more of a break room for the clock maker and his wife, and they live elsewhere. I’ll try to arrange photos of any mods I make, if i can wrestle my photo bucket account into submission. Whats everyone else think? Quote
hikouki Posted January 13 Posted January 13 What I would really love to see is another modular (MOC) or maybe even several to populate the 'British street' with at least three structures. I know there are already several MOCs with some nod to the British theme on Rebrickable. Anyway, it would also be interesting what those perennial MOCers would come up with in terms of 'supersizing' this singular set. Not that I would be interested in that. I'd prefer a completely different building as above. Quote
Legodt Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I already started building. I plan to use tan instead of the bright-light-blue. Most of the building in my 'town' are tan. I also will duplicate the exterior of the 2nd level to make the entire Tudor Corner taller. I have done the same for the last 4-5 modulars. My last BL shipment will arrive tomorrow with some necessary parts to duplicate the 2nd level. Anyone else planning to change color or make a taller version? Quote
cimddwc Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I modified the top floor to give it a proper timbering with wood in the corners (and a few places on the long side): Also extended it to the left by 1 stud making it symmetrical, which benefits the timbering. Quote
