Christian Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I just found the first pic of the upcoming 10189 Taj Mahal on Brickshelf. Link UPDATE-From the LEGO cache: Quote
Deinonychus Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 5922 pieces!? Youch! Looks very nice though Quote
Stauder Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Yeah Baby! Great find Chris! Looks great! Almost 6000 Peices is that a new record? To the front-page! *Na-na-na-na-na-na-na--Na-Na!* *Spinning staudie head on screen* Stauder. Quote
The Rancor Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 ! (It looks incredibly expensive though (£79.99-£149.99) Thanks for the pic though I could always get it at christmas since I have no money now! (You know why ) Quote
Shoc Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Must... Own... Unfortunately it looks to be the most expensive Lego set so far. To the front-page! *Na-na-na-na-na-na-na--Na-Na!* *Spinning staudie head on screen* Zap! Wham! Pow! :skull: Quote
commanderbly42 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 It's so beautiful. Expensive but magnificent. I love it! Quote
CP5670 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Looks very impressive. (It looks incredibly expensive though (£79.99-£149.99) $300 would be quite reasonable if it has almost 6000 pieces. I think it will cost much more than that though, given that the 5000-piece Millennium Falcon is $500. Quote
Trudop561 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 With the UCS millenium falcon (5195 pieces) at 500 $, imagine the price of the Taj Mahal. Quote
Front Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 The set includes a lot of small bricks, which probably will make the $ pr. piece quite low. Quote
Athos Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I bet it won't be nearly as pricey as the Death Star. No minifigures to drive the price up and no licensing fees. Also its mostly basic bricks, so that'll keep it cheaper. Still will be pricey, just not as bad as everyone thinks. I figure UCS DS or ISD prices. Imagine how cool it would look along side the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. Steve Quote
SirNadroj Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 That's gorgeous. The price is gonna dissuade me from buying it, though. I'll have to wait and see. But God, it's better than I expected. I was waiting for a picture of a crappy little "Factory" Mini Model. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Great find Christian, that looks like an impressive set that indeed would look cool next to the other landmarks! Thank you for sharing! Quote
legomilk Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 pics is from whung. thanks whung for this pics Quote
Hinckley Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I'm really impressed with this. When we first saw the parts list, I was worried about the domes, but this is great! I can't wait to see what other landmarks we get. But in the mean time, I'm pleasantly surprised with how much I like this. TajMahOn! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Well done Lego , Im pretty sure its going to go down as a well liked set. Looks like lots of cool details. Thanks Whung for the pic! Quote
Zzz Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Wow, it looks really sweet! I was also expecting something completely different! Guess they will take 450 Euro from us for this set. So far the mixture of the parts seems really interesting! While the Eiffel Tour was so interesting for the only grey parts and not too many different, here we get an interesting variety of parts and colours. Also the "architecture" or construction seems interesting. I wonder how big it is, and how heavy... Taj on! BORT! Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I am awed, it was only the other day I posted complaining we had seen a picture and lo and behold what turns up. I guess the price will be about £250-300 due to the size but lack of Lucas cut in it. Though I would hope it is a bit cheap I only just managed to afford the Eiffel Tower Quote
LegoFranks Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 With the UCS millenium falcon (5195 pieces) at 500 $, imagine the price of the Taj Mahal. Yes, but the Millennium Falcon UCS has that pig on its back called STAR WARS... Which always marks up those sets by at least 20% it seems... M. Quote
filefolders Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Ooooooohohohohoo. This looks very nice but I'll have to rob a bank or get another job to afford it. Quote
VBBN Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Oh crap, that looks nice but if it's 600$ I will NOT get it. I simply can't afford it. That dome on the top looks amazing however! Quote
Snake...SNAKE...SNAAAAKE?! Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 WOW. Just WOW. ( Not to be mistaken with world of warcraft ) Quote
Johnny 5 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Simply amazing, I'm pretty sure I here angels singing. This is a must-have for me if I buy just one other several hundred dollar set this year, it will be this one. Hey, I was right! Quote
darkrebellion Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 This set is really impressive I just it. I think it is gonna cost around $400 because even if it isn´t a licensed set and not contain minifigs it has such a big piece count . Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I'm guessing more $ than the Eiffel Tower, but less $ than the Death Star. Basic bricks. Man oh man, I hope that is all white!!!! Nice find on the pics. Quote
