Matteo Kenobi Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Wow very nice for sure!! I'm really considering buying this...however right now the breaking point on whether its minifig scale and at least has an interior that i can add on to somewhat. Any leaked picture or more information on that? It's just so beautiful though Quote

I'm really considering buying this...however right now the breaking point on whether its minifig scale and at least has an interior that i can add on to somewhat. Any leaked picture or more information on that? It's just so beautiful though I agree that this is quite beautiful, but it's definitely far smaller than minifig scale. Still, for most fans that shouldn't be an issue as sets like the Death Star and Star Destroyer have been similarly misproportioned and both have proven to be quite popular. As for an interior; if it doesn't have one you can always add your own. Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 The price is far more reasonable than I expected, though I think I’ll wait for a double reward stamp week at the Lego store before I buy it. Quote

Thanks for answering my question Well you appear to be right, the windows do look to small for minifigs but the door looks like it may work. I guess we really have to wait until we get more pictures from different angles. Oh yes i can always add my own interior...as long as there is space to do so =] Oh I'm sure it will be immensly popular being the center point of any room Quote
metalandi Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 It's WAY smaller than minifig scale. Just compare a picture of the real one: ..with the Lego one: The minifigs would be about as high as the red mark i set in there. Quote

Dennimator Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Hey, you can pre-order Taj-Mahal now! It´s 3199 SEK /299 USD/299EUR. The Swedish price (SEK) are really ...299 USD is 1.912 SEK, which means a difference on almost 1100 SEK (around 172 USD), over a third of the (Swedish) price. LEGO:s exchange rate really suck. Maybe I will buy it off Ebay instead... Quote
metalandi Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 It is really strange that everything is always the same in € as it is in USD. There is a lot of difference in between, if everything was right it would have to be more expensive in the US or cheaper in europe... Quote
Mirandir Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 This 1 USD = 1 Euro = 10 SEK exchange rate isn't exactly unique to LEGO. I've seen it be used for other products as well. I can't remember what it was about but I've seen that exact complaint about the exact same exchange rates elsewere and it wasn't about LEGO. This has been discussed like a billion times. There's even an official explanation from LEGO here. The only other option is to buy Mega Blox, Hawk Blocks or other clone-brands. But I don't think there are that many among us who would even consider doing that. Quote
prateek Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 MEGABLOKIN MEGABLOKS!!! that thing is $399 CAD here (not good) compared to USD prices Quote
Shoc Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 It's WAY smaller than minifig scale. No it isn't. Look closely at those little dots in front of the building. They're people. :skull: Quote
metalandi Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Yes, that is what i wanted to say with it. Compare it to the Lego Set, you'll see that the scale isn't minific compatible at all, it's like 10 times smaller Quote
