KimT Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I was slightly inspired by the competion we did in Legoland Billund in July. So I decided to see what I could do with the small creator set 4916. And this is what I ended up with: A very small Slave1 I tried to base it a little on the Slave1 mini and the keychain. So anyone else done something like this or do I have too much time on my hands right now? Quote
Erdbeereis Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I have never done this myself, but I might have to try it as it seems like fun. One time I did make a little truck out of the mini trains set though. Nice work! Quote
Holodoc Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 So anyone else done something like this or do I have too much time on my hands right now? That´s a brilliant idea and you made the 'first edition' very well! I love to build a complete different thing just from one set (like this). What set will be next? Shall we try 8150 again? Fun ON! Skipper 24 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I love building mini stuff like that form sets like the X-Pods. Your Slave 1 looks really good considering the parts you had and used. The main parts I don't like are those wings they just don't look right. Otherwise very good. Quote

I even tried using the green leafs for wings, but the Slave got too big to be build by the remaining bricks in the box. That´s a brilliant idea and you made the 'first edition' very well! Thanks and yes I saw that very fine Trainstation of yours Truly an impressive little thing - You managed to add quite a few things to the interior of that station No pls no 8150 again Quote
Shoc Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 This actually looks great considering it's been made from the pieces of one small set. So anyone else done something like this or do I have too much time on my hands right now? I've done things like this before, one that I remember is making some kind of bird (a seagull I think) using pieces only in a Star Wars miniset thingy. It turned out pretty good. I wouldn't say you have too much time on your hands when you're talking about a small set, rather more if it was something bigger maybe you have too much time. :skull: Quote
BlueBard Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Nice and clever construction thinking you've used a reduced number of pieces BTW, maybe someone have told you and maybe it's completely deliberate but have you noticed the clone soldier's helmet from your avatar looks like a polar bear head? I actually thought that for ages, only a month or two ago I realised what it actually was! :skull: Quote

Grammar is your friend! Anyway, on topic, this is pretty neat. It has a good general shape for using very limited parts. DSR Quote

That's a great wee version of SLave 1 you managed to come up with, good stuff! It's a nice little challenge to set yourself, I'll definately have to give it a try. Quote

You should give it a try. It's great fun, trying to build something from a limited and predefined amount of bricks. Quote
JimBee Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Looks cool! When did that Creator set come out? Did you completely base it off of the official MINI's or did you use your imagination? I like how you used the "teeth" pieces for the guns, good job! Quote

I like how you used the "teeth" pieces for the guns, good job! You can find info on the set here. It was released in 2007. I based it off the official minis as good as my memory serves me. I had the 2 minis in mind as pictured in the first post. And thanks for the nice comment. Quote
