Bobskink Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 (edited) Hy, I just got a red and white Boba Fett helmet trougha deal I made. But I'm not sure they are really made by Lego. The Green and Silver ones are unpainted Boba an Jango helmets I got a few years back. I know these are the real deal, but I have my doubts about the ones I got now. (the torso and legs are mine btw) For example, the shade of the white helmet is different than the ussual Lego white. I'm not sure about the red helmet, it's the same red, but it has spots. Unforntunatly is't not visible on the pictures. However, the main thing that's got me concerned, is the mark inside the helmet were the stud off the minifigs head goes. The green and silver helmet have a number inside, so does the red Darth Vader helmet. But the white and red helmet don't have this number, they have asomekind of stressmark instead, you can see that the plastic was cut/broke of at that place. (it's also not visible on my picture ) I know that there are red tests, like the red Darth Vader helmet. Red and I presume white are also is good to vieuw details and errors. But the seller also sells the helmets in yellow and black so that doesn't really make any sence. So my question is, doen anybody has more info about these, are they real or not. Old testshots, Some Lego emplye who went nuts on the machines in his free time, or a really good recast? Thanks, Edited June 10, 2014 by Bobskink Quote
Big Cam Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I don't know about the red one, but the white one certainly could be real. being that the legs and torso are no problem to find in white, adn the helmet COULD from or similar to the new white promotional boba. I'm jealous of he 4 you have though, very cool. Quote
Future74 Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Good question Bobskink. Especially since the release of the white-boba, but these are lacking printings the "official" one has. Cant help the feeling they are some sort of customs. But I think they look great no matter what. Why not also buy the yellow and black? Than you've got the colours complete. I'm stunned you've got official grey and green boba helmets?! I've heared of the red Darth Vader helmet, but thats it. Quote

Shadows Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Gut instinct says fakes. I know there are people who have moulded them in the past, and the white is always a little off, sometimes milky, sometimes bright. I have a white Royal Guard helmet that is clearly not official and it's missing the mark like you describe (plus it just doesn't have the right shine to it, but it's very slight). The fact that he has yellow and black as well pretty much seals the deal for me to declare them fakes unless it's one of a very small number of sellers I trust for that sort of thing. I don't think I've seen more than a couple of yellow test part in my life, to be honest, and I have a decent number of them. Plus the red has always been dead on perfect. It's a shame, really, those look nice. I'd just always doubt them unless I found them offered through one of those trustworthy sellers. I'm quite fond of the unprinted Jango and Boba helmets, though, I must admit. I probably would have been tempted to pick one of these up if he'd only had red. All those other colours though screams NOOOO! I kind of have a feeling the white helmet is the same as the white boba fett you linked, but I can't imagine why someone would break up the pieces to a fig worth $500 They wouldn't. They made white to play on the new Boba and red because of the old Vader helmet. Probably made black because it's cool. Yellow is a mystery to me. Maybe it's all they had handy to melt down. Quote
Bobskink Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 (edited) Thanks for all the comments. I must say that Shadows makes the most sence, sadly however. I emailed the guy I got them from and asked for some more info. To be continued... PS, Shadows, do you have pics of your differnt colored helmets? Edited March 2, 2010 by Bobskink Quote
Shadows Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 PS, Shadows, do you have pics of your differnt colored helmets? I've never managed a good set of inventory pics, though one day it'll happen. In SW, all I have are the unprinted versions of the Stormtrooper, black Stormtrooper, Rebel Pilot, Boba, Jango and the red Vader. At least as far as I can remember. There are a few more varieties in Castle, mostly unchromed dwarf, viking and knight helmets and such, plus the copper Troll crown. There are a lot of rare parts out there, far too many to even keep track of, let along try to collect. I'd be dead broke if it wasn't for some very kind people along the way (they know who they are ) and one day I'll show all of it on it's own rare parts website. Quote

I have the same, the prices on those are not to high, exept for the Vader, you had to be there early or like you say, need to know some very kind people along the way. Which I did. There's also Quote
Darth Legolas Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Is this a set up for a Mandalorian Christmas? They've got to be fakes, as said, because nobody would waste a minifig like White Boba, and as far as I know there were never widespread red test-molds of the helmet, only ever Vaders. If I were you though, as long as I didn't pay way too much or was tricked into trading something more valuable, I would definitely keep these! Quote
Darth Lion Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 (edited) Is this a set up for a Mandalorian Christmas? Lol, that's what I was thinking, too, when I first saw those. That's the greatest "unofficial Boba Fett"-collection I ever saw.^^ KEEP IT! That's a treasure, even Yoda would kill for. Btw: what colour do you get, if you just scrap of the printing? Usually, people use Brasso, I think. It's a chemical that gets it off easily. The color you get underneath is the color of the plastic, in this case green and silver. Quote
Brickus Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 They look cool, but I don't think they are official. Quote
KimT Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 MergeI've merged the topic on the plain Leia hair (buns) into this topic on rare Star Wars parts. And now the other plain Leia hair topic and the one on the mandalorian helmets end here as well. Quote
andy742000 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) Hi, I am looking around the web to catch how many unique items the TLC have done in the SW theme and then I stop looking at some comments about a Vader red helmet supposdly official. So the question is, is this real or something someone done and just upload in brickshelf and if this is real where it is auctioned, ebay or simply a contest ? There U have it lol not so cheap of course. red Edited March 4, 2010 by andy742000 Quote
KimT Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 There U have it lol not so cheap of course.red Now if you'd bothered to read the topic, then you'd see and learn that the price issue has been mentioned more than once. Furthermore the recent discussion in this topic is NOT on Vader's Red helmet - the post you quoted is a year and a half + old. Quote
Piranha Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 *Sneaks into back door of forum In this BrickLink store, there is for sale a white vader helm and black, yellow, red and white Boba fett helms. I have never seen these before? Quote
Brickus Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I don't believe they are for real, I think they are customs. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I'm sure this will be merged with the Red Vader Helmet topic as all Vader and Mando helmet topics are. The Boba's are definitely customs, a little pricey but I would take that deal for Mandos. Possibly, I'd have to compare prices though. The white vader helmet's probably a rip-off. Quote
CommanderFox Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 (edited) I don't believe they are for real, I think they are customs. Yup, I think they cast them, especially the boba helmets. They do look nice don't they. yes they are alittle pricey. CommanderFox Edited March 6, 2010 by CommanderFox Quote
Siegfried Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 As Shadows said previously in this topic, customs. I'm sure this will be merged with the Red Vader Helmet topic as all Vader and Mando helmet topics are. You bet! Quote
Pancake Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Hello members of eurobricks i would like to know what you guys believe the most prized/sought after minifigure(s) is/are, im not going to call them rare because it will just become an argument over what rare is, here is my list of what i think. Solid 14k gold c3po minifigure, 7 made 5 to public. Chrome gold c4po 10,000 made George lucus Pink r2-d2 prototype, r2-kt about 50 made Boba fett (cloud city) Red mold test darth vader helmet White boba fett Solid bronze boba fett, 2 made Quote
Mr Man Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Well all special edition figs (George Lucas, R2-KT, gold 3PO, chrome 3P0 chrome stormy, and magnet chrome stormy, white Bobba Fett, white Bobba Fett key chain, medal ceremony Luke and MC Luke with pupils, and the gold, silver, and bronze Bobba Fett's, and the chrome Darth Vader) are all incredibly rare, but in terms of production figs it think it is the one run only figs like Padme or all the Cloud City figs (except the stormtrooper), and the printed legs stormtroopers. Henchmen4Hire Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 None of the current minifgs have me salivating... they're mostly kinda "meh". I want characters that aren't made yet, Darth Talon, Quinlan Vos... Quote
Bobskink Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 They all are, but lucky for us, they aren't unique characters, there exist other versions of them. The real Gold and Bronze versions arent actual minifigures, so they don't really count. Didn't know there was more than one pink R2, but to bad, life goes on without, there will always be someone wwith a bigger collection. George Lucus doesn't count, he's not a SW character. The rest, if you want those, you can still find them. Quote
