Oky Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 (edited) Hi, everyone! When I was watching cartoons this Saturday morning, I saw a commercial for the premiere of the Ben 10: Alein Force movie "Alien X" on cartoon network (which btw sounds too much like the Venom saga of the old Spiderman cartoon IMO ). At the end of that commercial, they mention that there will be a first look at "the biggest thing to ever come to television" during that episode, and there are two signs that they are talking about the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series that will start on October 3rd: 1. While they say that, one can clearly hear the engines of a Republic Gunship and some blaster shots. 2. Immediately after that ad, they show a commercial for Hasbro's Clone Wars toy line. A coincidence? I don't think so. So, if I'm right, we can look forward to a sneak peek at the new Clone Wars show on August 31st! I recorded and uploaded this commercial for you guys on my YouTube account. You should be able to see it here. Any thoughts? UPDATE: The Ben 10 Alien Force episode has now aired and it turns out I was right! It was an awesome, over 2-minutes long trailer for the CW series! You can watch it here. darkrebellion Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Thanks for the info and the video Oky Wan Kenobi . I think you are right it clearly sound like blaster shots but I can´t hear the gunship engine I think is because the sound in my computer is not that loud. So we maybe see some of the George´s lastest project soon . Quote
simonjedi Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I think its just an ad for the hasbro's AT-TE not a commercial for the new series, the blaster noise is a sound the AT-TE makes. Quote

Yup, that's the one. It's quite subtle, but you can hear it right after the voice-over person says "Plus". As I said, this preview will be shown on Sunday, August 31st, sometime during the prime time on Cartoon Network. I will try to record it. I think its just an ad for the hasbro's AT-TE not a commercial for the new series, the blaster noise is a sound the AT-TE makes. I think you misunderstood something. The clues to the CW sneak peek are during the Alien X commercial, not the one for the AT-TE. It's what they call "the biggest thing to ever come to television", which is a very matching description of the CW show IMO. Edited August 17, 2008 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 He he, I agree about the series. Anyhoo, it'll be on Cartoon Network, right? I always hate having to scramble through channels and find that I missed the first ten minutes. Good times... Gee, do they always announce stuff so damn early? I thought it'd be like tomorrow or something. Quote

I always hate having to scramble through channels and find that I missed the first ten minutes. Well, duh! Gee, do they always announce stuff so damn early? Pretty much. They always make those teaser commercials for such "big events". They have been advertising "Alien X" for a while now actually! Quote
The Rancor Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 (edited) They slightly exaggerate the news of Clone Wars series. It's been shown before, so why so special? Hmm... Ben 10 'Alien Force'? America's CN must be so much further ahead than the UK's. We probably won't get Clone Wars as a TV series until Spring now! Yes, I do still enjoy cartoons, but they usually have to have some sense (not completely random for hyperactive kids) CN seem to keep blabbering on about new shows 'Chop Socky Chooks' and 'World of Quest' which sound eually as Edited August 17, 2008 by The Rancor Quote
Pencoin Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I can't agree more Rancor, i remeber when CN had good shows like Dragon Ball, even some random shows (Kid Muscle and One Piece) were pretty ok. I was looking forward to Clone wars but after the film, I'm not . Quote
Skinny Boy Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 I can't agree more Rancor, i remeber when CN had good shows like Dragon Ball, even some random shows (Kid Muscle and One Piece) were pretty ok. I was looking forward to Clone wars but after the film, I'm not . Oh c'mon, there were way better shows than that: Dexter, Cow and chicken, Johnny Bravo. Even though Dexter and Johnny were revived, the new episodes were crap. And something on topic: the ad does seem like its leaning towards Star Wars, but 'the biggest thing to hit tv' is surely just for kids. Quote
Pencoin Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 You kidding me right? Those shows were weird, random and a bit boring to watch, to be honest. Youre right though it is leaning toward Clone wars Man i think the Clone wars is the most over done star-wars thing ever, and one of the least intresting. Quote
Oky Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 They slightly exaggerate the news of Clone Wars series. It's been shown before, so why so special? Hmm... Ben 10 'Alien Force'? America's CN must be so much further ahead than the UK's. As I said, they always do that to build up anticipation. And don't get excited, Ben 10: Alien Force is not a very good show, way not as good as the first one at least. It's kinda boring and doesn't make much sense. I for one think that the original Ben 10 show was a very good one, and that CN has produced some other pretty good shows. My favorites are the ones created by Genndy Tartakovsky: Samurai Jack, The Powerpuff Girls, and of course the old Clone Wars cartoon! I'm not a big fan of Dexter, Johnny & Co., though, and I don't like any of that anime junk stuff either. But, please, let's not get off-topic! CW preview ON! Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 (edited) I'm not a big fan of Dexter... Really? Why not? I do agree, we'll get the Clone Wars and we'll get it good. Remember, it's just to tide us over until the live action show. But, in hind site, look at the text and background in the trailer. They were still talking about Ben 10. Edited August 22, 2008 by Lt. Col. Thok Quote
cartoondude Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Man i think the Clone wars is the most over done star-wars thing ever, and one of the least intresting. I think that the Clone Wars is the coolest part of Star Wars. You cant forget the best Cartoon Network show Tom & Jerry. As for the new Clone Wars TV show i think its going to be awesome. I have a book about the clone wars and it has some pretty awesome stuff. I think that Alien X commercial did mean something about the Clone Wars. Quote
Oky Posted August 31, 2008 Author Posted August 31, 2008 Only one more day to go until we find out if there will be a sneak peek or not! Quote
commanderbly42 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Man i think the Clone wars is the most over done star-wars thing ever, and one of the least intresting. I don't. Have you seen the amount of GCW things they've done? Sure, they've done another CW TV series before this one but the amount of books and comics that relate to OT events is unbelievable. Only one more day to go until we find out if there will be a sneak peek or not! Are you talking about this? I loved it! Quote
Captain REX Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 That........was....................Frickin awesome!!!!!! although the only problem is that my computer doesn't have sound so i don't know what the hell they are saying. when does thiis wondeful program come out in the UK? Quote
The Rancor Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 when does thiis wondeful program come out in the UK? Who knows? It will probably not come out this 'Fall' but next Spring. The same thing happened with 'Ben 10 Race Against Time' I think. Quote

Thanks for pointing that out! Are you talking about this? I loved it! Yes! That's the one! I was unable to record it and was looking for it on YouTube, but couldn't find it. Thanks for providing that link! That........was....................Frickin awesome!!!!!! My thoughts exactly! Looks like the series will be much better than the movie! Here are some things that caught my attention: A lot of General Grievous! Yoda kicks some megablocks! Many different Jedi, like Kit Fisto, Plo Koon, and Luminara, and new Padawans, like Nahdar Vebb, that Mon Calamari guy who dares to oppose Grievous! You can hear Plo Koon talk, but somehow he doesn't sound anything like I would have imagined. No action from Mace Windu. What are your thoughts on this trailer? Captain REX Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Who knows? It will probably not come out this 'Fall' but next Spring. The same thing happened with 'Ben 10 Race Against Time' I think. That would be an unwise move seeing as by then all the hype would of died down from the movie. So hopefully it may be a world wide realese (For any countrys that had Cartoon Network of course. Quote

Corvus Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Aha, the CW TV series. Now that's what I was looking forward to. While the movie got tiring, the show should be wonderful, lower-key than theaters, and I actually heard some good Yoda wisdom. He was kind of annoying in the movie... Quote
Captain REX Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Sorry to bring up an old topic but i just found out over at jedinews that in the UK the Clone Wars TV series will start on October 25th on SKY preimere. Luckly i have a SKY supscription Quote
