Dwarvenlord Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Holy moly! Are you going to make a landscape around the castle? That would even be more fantastic! Quote

Mortymore Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Congratulations Teddy! You are building an amizing castle! I liked the new stained-glass windows Regards Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 (edited) That's again an excellent piece of masterwork, Teddy! I really, really that really functioning mechanism for the drawbridge and the new building you designed (Will you add some interior to it, too?! - That would be amazing! ). Very, very well done! You might be surprised I know he has landscaped. But i ment if he's going to make a landscape around the whole castle. I browse enough on the fora, trust me Quote
Teddy Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 I know he has landscaped. But i ment if he's going to make a landscape around the whole castle. I browse enough on the fora, trust me Dear Dwarvenlord et all, thanks for all your cool replies. I am planning to extend the current moat around the castle. Currently, the landscape is modular as well, so I'll make some additional blue base sections and extend the raised courtyard sections to the back. I'm not sure if I'll extend the width of the landscape, because it wouldn't fit anywhere except the livingroom floor. And my poor girlfriend is already swamped in bricks.... I need a bigger house. I am going to build an interior, since I enjoy having minifigs in action on the inside. Strangely I only started to do interiors lately, before I didn't bodder. But now I really like the extra element they bring to a MOC. I had an initial plan, but I decided to do it differently, so now I'm not entirely sure anymore how I will make the interior. Kind regards, Teddy Quote
Dwarvenlord Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Cool! I think it's a good idea to use your latest building as throne room, like you mentioned earlier. Maybe it's a good idea to hang a chandler on the ceiling; just an idea Quote
blueandwhite Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Dear Dwarvenlord et all, thanks for all your cool replies. Honestly, with a MOC this scale, a larger landscape is probably more of a burden than a benefit. As long as the moat goes around the castle I think your good. In fact, if you're going to do any more landscaping I would suggest extending the front section out further allowing for a possible seige rather than adding additional width. While seeing the edges of the moat around the castle is nice, it really isn't necessary. Kind regards, Teddy Personally, I find that the way an interior evolves can be quite accidental. Planning an interior depends greatly on how each module opens up. Often you may intend to build a certain interior structure only to find that in order to accommodate a certain module you need to build something completely different. Stables can become a dungeon; a kitchen becomes a library; and a great hall finds itself looking completely different than you first imagined. Perhaps this is why I love building interiors. It requires you to constantly reconsider your plans. Quote
Wout Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 It looks very nice Teddy. Windows are nice done. Quote
Lego12 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Oh.....my....god....you have improved so much and it looks AWESOME! It is defianitly the best castle I have ever seen! I love the architectural designs and the scenery! Do you have like, unlimited soldiers!?! If your castle is big enough, you could make a torture room to torture your victims and a giant cage, so you can put a dragon inside of it.....and take over the kingdom! Quote
Tacitus Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Every time I see it, I am always stunned! Awesome, just awesome. Quote
Teddy Posted December 21, 2008 Author Posted December 21, 2008 Dear all This weekend I've been working on my castle. since it is a bit dark now I couldn't make better pictures yet. Any comments and feedback is highly appriciated. Kind regards, Teddy Pictures updated on December: Update of the "keep" Quote
I Scream Clone Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Pure Awesome Teddy! Though your pics are dark as said, there is no mistaking the sheer size and scope of this undertaking. You must have bought a lot of light bley by now Im very envious of this project, and if you ever want to submit a module for EBCCB drop on over. Cheers ISC Quote
Buttons Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I like the way you refer to this project being started because you were just bored I envy you Teddy Quote
Teddy Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Dear all, thanks for the nice feedback! Hopefully, I can make some better photos the comming days. I was thinking of making a module for the EBCCB, but I'm not sure which one. Kind regards, Teddy Quote
Buttons Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I had exactly the same problem as you Teddy. All I did was build an exterior freeform and thendecide from then on on what to base your module on. (To be honest you could just use your whole castle) P.s. If you are going to join the build then make sure you get on the beta team Quote
Teddy Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 (edited) Dear all, thanks for your nice replies! Today I uploaded some better lighted photos. I've also updated the scenery with some more small plant life. Kind regards, Teddy Brickshelf folder when public. Edited December 24, 2008 by Teddy Quote

Teddy Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Much better light I love the result of your work; it looks fantastic! I can see you have a pretty nice army Good that you've build a home for them! Thanks Dwarvenlord, I've collected the army mostly from the "Crossbow Attack" 7090 set and the "The Knight" 5615 set. Which I find to be great army builders. Only thing left now is to complete the interior and courtyard buildings. Kind regards, Teddy Quote
posades Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Looking great Teddy. One minor thing that is bothering me: what's up with that one white tree on the right, did you run out of brown pieces? How about maybe adding a watch tower down the line, or maybe some type of water craft? Quote
Teddy Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 Looking great Teddy. One minor thing that is bothering me: what's up with that one white tree on the right, did you run out of brown pieces? How about maybe adding a watch tower down the line, or maybe some type of water craft? Hi Posades , the white tree is ment to be a Birch tree wikipage. Those trees are quite common in this part of Europe. There bark of a birch tree is mainly white with black spots. A watchtower and a watercraft is a good idea. Kind regards, Teddy Quote
KimT Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Teddy, your work on this keep astonishing me I wonder where you'd have this displayed in a year or so? - there's not room enough where you have it right now And I like the birch-tree, we've got plenty of those here in Denmark, so I am glad that it's there. Keep it up and hopefully within too long, I'll have some updates for my lesser yellow castle. Quote
