maiq the liar Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Introducing my best Spaceship so far (and my only one that actually looks like a spaceship), the Barracuda-32! It's 100% SNOTty! It's my space sigfig's ship. Unfortunately, it's unarmed so it has to rely on Barracuda-8 fighters and barracuda-16 bombers to defend it (i haven't designed those yet) it's piloted by a B-24 Automated pilot, and has a B-20 Oxygen generator in the lower levels (as my excuse for being unable to find a way to finish the door wall and having the back open). Commander Andrew of 501 st Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Your SNOT funny. Only kidding I like the begining of your ship so far, although i'm not so sure about the yellow I can't wait to see the rest of it. How big do you think it will be? Quote
maiq the liar Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 The yellow parts are lights :) actually, this particular entry in the Barracuda series is finished. the barracuda-64 (barracuda-128?) will be larger. Quote
Infomaniac Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 you should design a space station using the snot technique btw what does snot mean Infomaniac Quote
maiq the liar Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 (edited) Ironic, you being the infomaniac and all... Studs Not On Top Edited August 18, 2008 by maiq the liar Quote
Chuck Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Get a better bridge; It sticks out too much. -Chuck Quote
Brickmaster Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Some tips: The shape is decent, make it longer - Right now it looks like a barge! The bridge isn't astounding, it sticks out alot, and I would expect to see it at an airport rather than the command center of a top of the line space ship. Give it wings? Fill up those gaps? Give it some nice engines? Give it some big ole guns? The shape is a great start, however. Quote
Holodoc Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Ironic, you being the infomaniac and all...Studs Not On Top Even more ironically your spaceship is not SNOT, it´s just studless. SNOT means the studs are not facing upwards but "looking" to the sides (or downwards). A good example for that is 007´s boat (in his sig). Guess you have to update the title of this thread. Quote
maiq the liar Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 (edited) There's studless dripping off my nose? :p @brickmaster: the Barracuda-32 isn't top of the line :p it's actually pretty much at the bottom of the line (it's a barebones ship designed to be easily modified). the -64 will be a midclass ship and the -128 will be a top of the line ship. at any rate, it's better then my previous atrocity. For some reason, the first model got rejected for "trademark violation"? How is Barracuda-32 a trademarked name? all it was was a nod to the BSB... oh well, on the LDD Gallery it will go by a more generic name (starcruiser-32a). Here's the updated model Edited August 18, 2008 by maiq the liar Quote
Dark Sword Ragnarok Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 So, is this like, an open-docking kind of ship? It looks like a small fighter could fly in and dock that way. Or maybe it just isn't finished. Personnally, I like the first dosign's command Bridge, it reminds me of a freighter starship. Quote
Ecto Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 (edited) I like the Ship, but I agree the bridge on the first sticks out too much. Edited August 21, 2008 by Ecto Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Very nicely done, you've improved on the original ship much. Quote
