Ras 74 Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 My wife already invited me to go to Legoland some time ago, but with the baby now I´m not sure if we can make it.Can those of us who never have been to a Legoland or to such an event maybe have some info what we might expect there? Apart from the basic "lots of fun" and "meeting interesting people in real life you always chat with on the internet". I think this will be a wonderful opportunity for you to come then.As CGH mentioned above there will be plenty of activities arround the event. You don
DJ Force Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Okay. Signing up for me, my wife and my daughter. Although she´s not even a year old then
Adam Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 My publisher says that it's strictly mid-May if it's going to be in May. So I'll see if I can make it, but my publisher's ticked off that he might have to make a lot more arrangments because of LEGO. So I MIGHT be able to come, but, since it's likely that I'll be unable to, I wish there was some way to converse with you guys in Germany (if I don't attend).
UniqueBuilder Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 No there is not really an age limit. I take it there's not any age limit on the Event booze then?
KimT Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I take it there's not any age limit on the Event booze then? Yes there is. 18...at least, depending on where the Event is being held.
UniqueBuilder Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Yes there is.18...at least, depending on where the Event is being held. Aww, take me off the list then.. But it is 16 in Denmark, no? Germany I don't know..
DJ Force Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Should be 18. Add three more to the list, my sister, her fiance and our best friend are coming, too.
KimT Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Aww, take me off the list then.. But it is 16 in Denmark, no? Germany I don't know.. Yup! 16 for booze and 18 for cigarettes - go figure
Dfenz Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 You can put myself and my son down as strong maybes depending on date. We have annual passes to Gunzburg and fly in from Dublin to Munich a few times a year so this should be easy to manage especially as there are normally very convenient flight times and daily flights. I'll probably also try to get to the Lego store in Reim Arcaden before driving to Gunzburg. David
DJ Force Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Sooo... are you going to update the list and provide us with further information soon?
Morten Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Looking forward to Event 2009. Sign me up, and I will do everything in my power to be there. The thing is that I am having my second child in february, so I can´t promise that I will be there. Morten
Quarryman Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Well, I'm certainly planning to be there, unless something unforeseen turns up and ruins all my plans. At least next spring there won't be exams getting in the way though, which was the problem this year.
Ras 74 Posted September 12, 2008 Author Posted September 12, 2008 So the list is updated. Sorry for not beeing arround to do that. Had alot of "real" work to do Since my Padawan... captaintau Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Absolutely NO CHANCE or me attending. Something to do with a wedding to find money for.
CopMike Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Something to do with a wedding to find money for. - is it a Mrs captaintau in the works??? And will the dresses then be gi´s ?CopMike
Zorro Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Ill be coming if I dont break my back and leg again
captaintau Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 - is it a Mrs captaintau in the works??? And will the dresses then be gi´s ? Yes, a Mrs Tau. And yes, Japanese attire will have to feature somewhere. Not gi though. I'm looking at wearing a hakama, kakuobi and haori. My best man (who came to EB event in Windsor) the same, with the addition of a Katana. Two ushers, each carrying tanto. Thankfully, Mrs Tau is 100% supportive of my LEGO addiction, though we've both conceded that it needs to give way to housemaking and wedding for the next year.
Jipay Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Doh, 26, starts to make quite a bunch of eventers !
SupaaSayajin Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I would conisder coming, too, but is there any topic/site that will actually inform about what side events are planned there? I mean it is obviously clear that we'll go to Legoland Günzburg, but where will all that be held and what will be done each day, how's it with food and sleeping, etc... just want some more infos.. ;)
Holodoc Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 I would conisder coming, too, but is there any topic/site that will actually inform about what side events are planned there? I mean it is obviously clear that we'll go to Legoland Günzburg, but where will all that be held and what will be done each day, how's it with food and sleeping, etc... just want some more infos.. ;) Of course we will only be doing the super-cool stuff on those days! To get an impression, browse the event-log from this year here and here. To be honest: We are working on your topics. Sleeping will be taken care of - just watch the event forum for updates. Food will be a personal "problem". The side events potentially can be secret. To cut a long story short: It´s all about fun, Lego and the persons behind the avatars. (But Copmike´s "Extras" for themselves are worth attending.)
Holodoc Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 While we are at it: Last year we stayed at the Kirchbauerhof 4 km away from the Legoland. It was a cosy and nice place but not really close to the park. I would like to gather suggestions whether we plan to stay there again (27 people attending can cause a problem, but we have enough time) or we look for another possibility to stay. There is a new "Holiday Village" (opened 2008) next to the park. Should be similar to the place where we stayed in Billund this year. They offer a 10% for annual pass holders by the way.
Kippy0001 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Yes...I will certainly be there. This will be my first event as a new AFOL. I hope I'm not the only one that only speaks English...
