Lord Santos Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) Lego said that the turbine had indeed Pfunctions, about the size of 4999 but it looks a little smaller, but not that much... Edited January 11, 2009 by Lord Santos Quote
Brickthing Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Couldn't the Wind Turbine Transporter transport the kind of turbine for a plane? Surely that would be more appealing to a kid than transporting part of an eco-friendly power maker. Also, there are LEGO planes to attach a turbine to, but not a LEGO Windmill to attach that kind of turbine to. Quote
Derek Posted January 11, 2009 Author Posted January 11, 2009 I don't think its a plane tubine. After the demand for 4999 over the summer, I'm pretty confident that Lego saw the potential of releasing a widely availible version and acted upon it. Besides, we haven't had airplane/plane sets (with the exception of postal) since 2006, 3 years ago. Quote

And stores do still sel the blue plane and the airport, at least in Sweden. Don´t think it will be a plane turbine either though, because a member (I think it was Lord Santos, whack forgive me if I´m wrong) said that he had seen a pic of the set some pages back. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 (edited) Lego said that the turbine had indeed Pfunctions, about the size of 4999 but it looks a little smaller, but not that much... Thank you very much for that information, Lord Santos! Great to hear that it will include PFs and will be not much smaller than the wind power plant in 4999! I don't think its a plane tubine. That's right - many of the airport/airplane sets are still available. Plus I bet that next year there will be a comeback of minimum one of following three themes from which we haven't seen new sets for a long while: aiport and/or fire and/or hospital (which I really would prefer - a really big hospital with lots of rooms and minifigs would be so !). Dr. Brick Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Does anybody know when the 7746 Single-Drum Roller will be released? It's on the official LEGO City products page but it isn't available in any shop yet I think... I would actually really like to have it. Dr. Brick Quote

Dr. Brick In the Australian catalogue it is listed as a March release and an exclusive, so it will probably arrive at S@H (and stores) with the next round of releases, probably along with the Farm line. We know it's gone into production since at least one person has bought (and reviewed) it Quote

Svelte Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Right here. The pinned indexes at the top of each forum also have most reviews linked as well Quote
osakana Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Is it really going to be Wind Turbine Transport, or is it just some translator mistake and this transport set is really gonna be this one here: ?? Quote
Freddie Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Nope. That's a completely different set, and was listed as such a very long time ago as well. Quote
Brickthing Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 That one is 7686 Helicopter Transport. Quote

Well, both the airport and the fire brigade are still widely available, it seems, but the last hospital was terrible and I really hope they come up with a new one. Ideally, the new hospital be the same size as the current police hq (or bigger), and incorporate the following: Ground floor: lobby/reception, pharmacy, garage, ER 1st floor: operating room, patient suites, doctor's office 2nd floor: administration I could personally do without yet another helipad and yet another rescue chopper... also, it would be nice to see an elevator inside the hospital. It would come with just one vehicle (ambulance) and about 7 minifigs (1 receptionist, 2 doctors, 1 paramedic, 1 nurse, 2 patients) with loads of utensils (no chainsaws, though... that was disturbing). I think this is doable for $100 (or less). Edited January 13, 2009 by Sammael Quote

Imo the hospital from 2006 wasn't bad - the only two things which disturbed me was that it was built on a hill and that the landing platform for the helicopter was smaller than the helicopter itself. Otherwise it was a really nice set - but not an amazing set! Your proposal for the content of a possible new hospital set is absolutely that what I'd like to see, too! If TLG releases a hospital like that this would me totally amazing!!! Why don't you write down your great proposal here?! Klaus-Dieter Quote
marvinblue Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 (edited) Hi all. I found these laast night at work and thought I'd share. They're not very clear, but you get the idea. Pencoin Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Remove them nao In the shaking evening! As I heard it, the Vestas set is a truck with a wind turbine on and nothing else. Quote

Justin Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) I want to buy 7641, once it's available this summer at Toys "R" Us. I could almost hear the city bus' diesel engine wailing! Here's a bus that looks similar to the LEGO CITY version in 7641 (notice that there are two doors on the left side): New Flyer 35LF Edited January 14, 2009 by Justin Quote
sens1992 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I have to agree with you Justin, LEGO 7641 with the city bus is a set I can't wait to buy! It is the first LEGO city bus in a long while and a fresh addition to the city line. It seems like TLG is finally adding a couple of buildings to make the CITY line look like a city as opposed to cars, trucks and emergency fleets! I also hope they come out with another bus set perhaps an articulated bus with the same colour as 7641 to make them look like they are part of a fleet! Something like that... Quote
sens1992 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) I already ordered my custom made bus stop complete with newspaper boxes and furniture. All I need now is the city bus from 7641! Edited January 14, 2009 by sens1992 Quote

Thank you for sharing, it's a very nice MOC. However, you should start a new topic for it. The middle of a news thread isn't the place to post a MOC. Please everyone, do your best to stay on topic in these long threads. People check these threads for news on new sets, not long side conversations, re-posted images and random MOCs. Browse the thread before posting to make sure you haven't missed anything or aren't re-posting anything and do your best to keep the discussion focused on City '09. Thanks. Quote
SeaKing61 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Looks like a little modding may be necessary for those of us who wish to add a bus to a city where the occupants drive on the left hand side of the road. At least it'll be better than the football/soccer buses (3404-3408 i think) from years ago that opened from the rear and you had to pull out a plate as long as the bus for the passengers to exit. Nice model, you should post it in the main forum! But, I think there's already a bus stop in the 7641, isn't there? But yours, of course, looks much better Quote
