Skipper 24 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I have some more box shots although these are stamped with confidential so you'll have to look at the gallery (when public). I have already posted the non confidential pics in the folder. (pic is link) Quote
ACCURATEin Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I called the Anaheim Lego store and spoke with a sales representative. These city sets will be available in the US starting in the month of June. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 We don't know that yet do we? They still have December items to release and besides, They didn't tell us about Emerald Night until two months before it's release. That's right, brickfreak. But the December items are the regular January sets. Given that TLG seems to consider trains as part of Town/City (the RC train sets say "city" on the box), maybe the Emerald Night IS our exclusive set for this year... You're right, jonwil. But that's even what I don't like since the PFs are totally overpriced and I would much more have prefered an exclusive set similar to 10184. Dear Klaus-DieterWe are still getting a modular building this year. Rumours are it will be a fire station. Dr. Brick You're right, too, Dr. Brick. But 1. CC styled buidlings don't count to the City theme - they are a mixture between Creator and City - and 2. I don't like CC styled buildings. Nevertheless we're getting the awesome 7747 Wind Turbine Transport, the great 7641 City Life set, the lovely Sports Car and the nice Tow Truck this summer plus surely some great stuff inside the advent calendar - which are really excellent City sets. And I bet and hope that 2010 will be surely as good as this year, too. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Dr. Brick Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Given that TLG seems to consider trains as part of Town/City (the RC train sets say "city" on the box), maybe the Emerald Night IS our exclusive set for this year... I don't think so. Let us not forget that sets like the EN, CC and TP are not City sets. They are all sets that go under the same theme: LEGO Direct. If TLC promised a City exclusive (which I wasn't aware of, but hey, it's always welcome ) it has to be a real City set, like the Coast Guard Platform last year. Dr. Brick Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 A few barley bigger pictures from Superspielwaren.de. Great figures, a few basic bricks in white and a bike are really what I need. Quote
Hewman Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 2009 City Advent Calendar Thanks Legomilk, I love the kid with the remote control car. Lego sure are putting a lot more short legs in sets now. Quote
Rick Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 (edited) I think the mailman (with Indy bag!) could be a sign that more postal sets (post office?) are on the way in 2010... (why does that &$^!@ Spielberg face has to keep reappearing?) Edited May 21, 2009 by Rick77 Quote
Brickthing Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 (why does that &$^!@ Spielberg face has to keep reappearing?) As a public worker too. Is that a minifig with a bandana/scarf and a cowboy hat in the background? I'm also loving that kid's hair. Quote
mikey Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Is that a minifig with a bandana/scarf and a cowboy hat in the background? I think that might be a helmet, like the kid skateboarder had in CityCorner. Quote
Svelte Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 More ultra-generic figs They really need to start over with City figs. Delete all the current prints and just start again! I applaud including rarer figs like the chef when we can't get them in normal sets, but this year we have that fig in a cheap Impulse. So now he's here dressed as half-chef, half maitre'd? It doesn't make sense. The snowman looks recycled from last year too. Disappointingly bland Quote
Natman8000 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Decent, but when was the last time we saw that tux torso? It was like ten years ago. Why bring it back and why not make a new one? Hard to believe that the Agent civilians are better then the actual city line! Quote
mikey Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Hard to believe that the Agent civilians are better then the actual city line! Very true, I think they could have used the Hawaiian Shirt Torso in this, would be a good incentive to buy! Quote
BlueBard Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I totally agree! In the City sets they're just repeating again and again the same torsos and faces (Take the 7641 or the 8402, for example ) while, as you say, in other themes not strictly town life related they're producing great new torsos Quote
wednesdayware Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I agree that there needs to be a bit more variety. Even across Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, and the Marketplace, there were some matching torsos. Surely there is room for a few more designs, even ones from the past. Quote
The Cobra Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Kiddiwinks has some new pics (at least, they are new to me), such as this one Quote
posades Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 S@H has added the Camper and City Corner on their site! And bizarrely there is also a LEGO City Coat Rack. Quote
BlueBard Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 S@H has added the Camper and City Corner on their site! And bizarrely there is also a LEGO City Coat Rack. Great! So it seems summer sets are going to be available before August! Thanks for the info, posades Quote
paul_delahaye Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Legoland windsor claim to have some of the city sets available now Going tomorrow so will confirm what is available! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Thank you very much for the pics of the new City Advent Calendar, legomilk! I think the mailman (with Indy bag!) could be a sign that more postal sets (post office?) are on the way in 2010... (why does that &$^!@ Spielberg face has to keep reappearing?) That's not neccessarily the case, Rick77. When you look at what was included in last year's advent calendar with the snow mobile, the snow man and the train worker with the pallet you could well have thought that we might get a winter theme and/or some cargo train stuff. But nothing of both did happen. Nevertheless I wouldn't say that a new post office is totally unrealistic since a post office, a bank and a grocery were the most demanded "shops" mentioned here. Otherwise there are a lot of other things demanded for City (seaside, zoo and housing area) plus we know that there already will be a new City trains theme in 2010. But since a post office is that demanded among us I think and hope that TLG will release one either next year or in 2011 (at the best along with a post bicylce and a redesign of the last post car but this time please with doors!).
