City Life - This kit is simply spectacular. In one small box you get three road signs, a stoplight, a bench, a fire hydrant, a cart with box, and four minifigs - including another female! Man, I love everything about it!

I think that the 8401 is named "Mini fig collection" and that a set named "City Life" is still to come. Or maybe I'm wrong ?

Crane - Okay, what is with that giant one-piece crane shaft? I'm not usually against big molds if they serve a purpose, I draw the line at molds that big that have barely any construction points.

I guess that´s not just one big´n clunky piece... look at this post from HoMa at 1000steine where you can see a very informative blowup... :classic:

if you wont too see pics of the city sets and

click on the link http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=337640

Plus, that link doesnt work. It says: folder not found. Though loads of folders have been made with the same pics.

Edit: Actually a search on Brickshelf revealed nothing. Are the moderators deleting them? At TLC's request maybe?

Although I am very excited about the farm and the construction site (no need for more cranes, but I really like the actual construction that is going on!!) I want to point out, like said before, what a gem the "city life" set is!

Minifigs ok, but very very cool street funiture. Traffic lights, bench but most important of all: traffic signs are back!!

I am really impressed with what lego will be throwing over us next year. My new house is almost finished, so I can start building and decorating my lay-out with all kind of new stuff!

And the farm will require some inventive country-side terraining ;-)

I am looking forward to this alot!

*start looking for extra green base-plates for the farmers to work on...*

I really like the new farm sets, especially the combine harvester. I actually started a harvester moc last weekend, half built and now parts again :sceptic:

Also love the new construction sets too :classic:

I saved the SW and Pirates pictures, and thought I'll save the city set pictures later :cry_sad:

I think he was probably joking. There was a tounge smiley right after the word "rumored," after all.

Yup. Another year of spending far too much money on LEGO.

As well as the fact that I still have to buy 10185 Green Grocery and 10184 Town Plan, I now have to buy:

8401 City Life

7635 Horse, Car and Trailer

7637 Farm & Tractor

7636 Combine Harvester

I could also be persuaded by the Pirate Ship and the Port sets. I'm not too bothered about the construction sets though, the large majority of them are oversized and the others are <insert that tiresome argument>. They wouldn't be so bad though if I didn't already have all of the old 2005 construction sets.

For me the real gem in 2009 is gonna be the Farm sets. They're outstanding. :classic:

Officially, and more important legally, they're still rumoured.

Indeed, they are rather neat. I might have to dig my old book of tractors from years ago out of the loft, just to celebrate.

Look at the front of the car in this set. What piece are those 1x1 Round Trans-clear plates put on? It seems to be hal a plate thick sugesting either this or this piece.

But if it is too wide (1x6) to be the 2436 1x2 - 1x4 Bracket. And if it were the 44728 1x2 - 2x2 bracket wouldn't that be seen as a half a plate behind that black front too?

Or is there any other piece that can look like that?

Thats a what i say, make alot a hay, for alittle pay.. Thats why i'll say...

I'm a hard working, god fairing combine driver!

Hoggin up the road in my pl- pl- pl- plower!

Chuga-luga-lung'in 5 miles an hourrrr....

On my International Haverster!!!!!!

:cry_happy:

We need the whole thing though!

I’m the son of a 3rd generation farmer

I’ve been married 10 years to the farmer’s daughter

I’m a God fearin’ hard workin’ combine driver

Hoggin’ up the road on my p-p-p-p-plower

Chug a lug a luggin’ 5 miles an hour

On my International Harvester

Three miles of cars layin’ on their horns

Fallin’ on deaf ears of corn

Lined up behind me like a big parade

Of late to work road raged jerks

Shoutin’ obscene words flippin’ me the bird

Well you may be on a state paved road

But that blacktop runs through my payload

Excuse me for tryin’ to do my job

But this year ain’t been no bumper crop

If you don’t like the way I’m a drivin’

Get back on the interstate

Otherwise sit tight and be nice

And quit yer honkin’ at me that way

Chorus:

Cause I’m a son of a 3rd generation farmer

I’ve been married 10 years to a farmer’s daughter

I got 2 boys in the county 4-H

I’m a lifetime sponsor of the F.F.A.

Hay! That’s what I make

I make a lotta hay for a little pay

But I’m proud to say

I’m a God fearin’ hard workin’ combine driver

Hoggin’ up the road on my a p-p-p-plower

Chug a lug a lugin’ 5 miles an hour

On my International Harvester

Well I know you got your own deadlines

But cussin’ me ain’t savin’ no time hoss

This big-wheeled wide load ain’t goin’ any faster

So just smile and wave and tip your hat

To the man up on the tractor

Chorus:

Cause I’m a son of a 3rd generation farmer

I’ve been married 10 years to a farmer’s daughter

I got two boys in the county 4-H

I’m a lifetime sponsor of the F.F.A.

Hay! That’s what I make

I make a lot of hay for a little pay

But I’m proud to say

I’m a God fearin’ hard workin’ combine driver

Hoggin’ up the road on my p-p-p-plower

Chug a lug a lugin’ 5 miles an hour

On my International Harvester

I’m a God fearin’ hard workin’ combine driver

Hoggin’ up the road on my p-p-p-plower

Chug a lug a lugin’ 5 miles an hour

On my International Harvester

Oh, I really want the horse trailer and the city life sets.
