Sorely missed Pirates, long-awaited Farm-in-Town sets, and, hopefully, a re-issue of one the most under rated, yet ingenious and beautiful theme the Rock Raiders aka Power Miners - all points to one of the best Lego-Years since the birth of our beloved MF. I admit I have been weak in faith, but as I see all the things I've missed and dreamd appearing and reappearing, I know I haven't fell back to dark ages. It's a tad bit too late though, this resurrection of the Pirates theme... They should've done it during the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I'd say they kinda missed the boat on this one... Are you kidding, man? For years AFOLs and kids alke have hoped, asked, begged, cried and raged to get the Pirates back to Legoland waters - let's just enjoy that now, ok?

YEah, just check out the great new figs and parts that come with the new pirate sets. A spyglass, new flamepiece, black barrels, fish, new shako's, new hulls, old school cannons, flat gold window panes, flat gold epaulettes and the best wench ever! Should i go on..?

I just wished they took this wise decision sooner... Aaaaanyway... These upcoming sets look amazing. They look pretty much like the ones released back in the day, but that's a good thing. I'm glad they didn't try to overly modernize the new pirate theme... Back to the golden days, my friends... Back to the golden days :)

She's obviously the admiral's daughter or something like that, akin to Elizabeth Swan. So mind your language when you talk about a true lady! PS. I wouldn't mind a proper female pirate minifig, though, but as Gizmodo's video about making minifigs hints, there will be a woman with an eyepatch coming up next year (could be from Agents, though, but Pirates seem a more obvious choice).

If I'm not mistaken, those Power Miner vehicles will follow the path set up by the ghost minifig, the original wizard's wand and Professor Snape's head. Edit: By glowing bricks, I mean the glowing parts of the vehicles, not the entire set. It could be just some photo manipulation done for the boxes, though. Edited September 3, 2008 by Sandy

Zarkan Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 ... Okay, this is really a supprise to me. Power Miners looks NOTHING like Rock Raiders, PERIOD. But, it still looks really cool - a lot of neat vehicles and an AWESOME color scheme. I only wish there was a base as well.

Racer-18 Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Hmm, like many sets, i'll remain undecided until better pictures emerge. I want to like it as it sounds like a pretty cool theme, but the first pictures have left me strangely dissapointed. Just my view though.

Besides, even if you don't like it now, you might like it better after we get higher quality pictures - the only ones we have right now are blurry and hard to make out in spots.
