Hi. I've be thinking about joining Reviewer's Academy for a while. I wrote many reviews for Slovenian LUG, much less for EB. I have a small Olympus camera, lots of sets, and less time than I'd like to. But I'm willing to join the RA, and take my time to improve my photography skills, learn some reviewing tricks and improve my reviews.

I'd like to join and see what this is about. I meet the requirements and have at least one large kit that does not yet have a review, and probably some other smaller ones as well.

Apologies for the delay. Welcome to Reviewers Academy. :classic:

Hy there, i would like to join the Reviewers Academy group so i can improve my review making skills. I already posted 2 reviews on some Town sets, but i think i have a lot more to learn from you guys. I have a DSLR camera and i buy sets from time to time (mostly Technic, but i think that will not be a problem). Thank in advance !

No problem, and thanks for letting me ''in''. I started reading all there is to know about the photography, and already learned some useful tips and tricks.

Apologies for the delay. Welcome to Reviewers Academy. :classic:

Hello,

I'd like to join and get into doing reviews, but I could really use some help adn tips! I meet all requirements as well! :)

Hello! I would also like to join the reviewer academy. I have a lot of Harry Potter and Star Wars sets and would love to help fill some gaps in the review indices.

Welcome both to the Reviewers Academy.

Hi

I'd really like to join the reviewers academy. I have a Fuji bridge camera and a pile of sets I'd like to review. I'd like some help on making my reviews worthwhile and relevant.

Welcome to the Academy. :classic:

Is it too late to join the reviewers academy now? I only recently started working on my LEGO collection.

I have a quite decent number of both brand new and completed LEGO sets , a Nikon D90, a tripod and assorted filters, and Photoshop.

May I join?

Thank you!

Hi,

Since I have already done two published reviews, this might be a bit of a strange situation, but I would like to be in the RA and/or earn those medals as well :sweet:

Of course, it's never too late to join - there's no time limit, we're not going to close the doors at any time, and we've been going for 5 years strong now. Welcome to the Academy.

It's not a strange situation at all, many people, myself included, published reviews before joining the Academy, but they do not count towards your progress in the Academy. Everybody starts in the Academy at the same point. Welcome to the Academy.

Ahh okay. And why can't I use my two reviews for the Academy? They have been published yesterday :sweet:

I see your comment in the other topic

Because you weren't taught on them. And if you had been, that may well have delayed their publication which was obviously undesirable under the circumstances.

As I said in the topic in Website and Forums, many people have published reviews before joining the Reviewers Academy, and everyone joins the RA on an equal footing.

Understood and no problem. Thanks for the clarification.

I do have some unopened smaller sets, so I will start with them

What about the maximum file size limit? If I were to make reviews on here, I'd want a lot of pictures. I can reduce the the size of my photos, but the quality will be terrible and I'll still only get about 5 photos. I have a Mac, so maybe it's harder to do on that (?). Do you have any suggestions?

It's best to use a photo sharing site like Flickr. That way you can upload the original and link it to a smaller (800 wide for example) version. If you make a link of your smaller version, people can click it to see the hires version.

Sorry if I was not supposed to answer this question, but it was pretty generic...

None of us use the attachment function to post pictures in reviews, and certainly most Teacher reviews here on EB have a lot of pictures in them. There are numerous photosharing sites; flickr (as mentioned), Brickshelf, Photobucket... many. Here is a good "how to" guide from Fugazi's index in this very subforum, and it includes lots of information about uploading images from hosting sites, including image resizing.

If you'd like to join the Academy then let us know and either myself or one of the other Teachers will add you. :classic:

Apologies for the oversight Freeksch, and thank you for your polite reminder. You're added now, welcome to the Academy. :classic:
