Can the 3 sets that you review be a set that someone already reviewed? In Example: The Brickster already reviewed Custom Car Garage set. Does that mean that nobody else can review that set?

No, a set can be reviewed more than once, but it's always better if it hasn't yet. :classic:

Are reviews of incomplete not-yet-reviewed classic sets (minor missing accents, such as a flag) accepted? Or must all parts be present for the review?

My personal recommendation will be reviewing sets which are complete. If the set is not complete, you must highlight in your review that the parts used are supposed to be part of the set but is not present in the review presentation of yours.

Some of my Classic Town Reviews which I had done earlier, is incomplete or replaced by other parts.

6358 Snorkel Squad

4010 Police Boat

This can be accepted with exception "if" the set is an old classic set which is out of production. The incomplete set must not have more than 5 parts missing from it, as it will deem to be an obvious incomplete set. Could you tell me what are the sets you are intending to do for a review in the academy? :classic:

To add on, Reviewers Academy welcome multiple reviews on a same sets unless that set is reviewed more than 5 times, and we will normally advice you to construct a new review on other sets.

Thank you for the reply. I asked as I am expecting a few sets from ebay (gotta love Parcel Post :hmpf:) and I noticed that a couple pieces are missing in the pictures. The sets are: 6074 (Falcon flag and perhaps the string), 6077 (the two flags, in their place is a blue one), 6989 (only missing one fig), and 10000 (missing the two flowers and possibly the innkeeper). I asked the seller about what is missing from the sets but heard no reply. This is why I try to avoid ebay as much as possible.

Your classic sets which have missing pieces, will have to be discussed in the academy to determine how "incomplete" will it be as we will have some mini discussion in there. :classic:

Meanwhile, if you have other complete sets which you are interested to write a review, it's highly recommended to do so. On the other note, I am looking forward to those mentioned sets above. If you have other sets which are complete, it's very useful for a good start in the academy. Therefore, if you are interested to find out more about Reviewers Academy and has met the above conditions, feel free to indicate your interest and we will let you in.

Oh, you don't have to worry about paying course fees.

I'll probably receive three of those sets (all the Castle ones) tomorrow so I will know how incomplete they really are. I'll report back when they finally arrive. :classic:

Oh, and I do have other sets which are complete, but I like to do reviews on sets that either don't have any or have only one.

Edit: I would like to be accepted into the Academy, if it's still open. :)

That was fast; thank you!

That's because I get an email when someone posts in this thread.

What do I do now? I'm new to Eurobricks, and don't know my way around very well.

Go to our main forum page and you'll see the academy forum somewhere near the top.

Would you please let me join the Reviewers Academy?

I have 12 sets including instructions and 7 of them having the original boxes. I love photography and making reviews. I have a digital camera having both optical and digital zoom specifications. I have enough time and I am motivated to follow the courses.

Dear members,

We are proud to announce the opening of "The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy"

What's this all about?

Some of Eurobricks finest Lego set reviewers have agreed to teach Eurobricks members the secrets of making a superior LEGO set review. Under their supervision, you will learn the tricks of effective photography, picture manipulation, and the secrets of presenting an interesting and informative review.

What's needed to join the academy?

  • You must have at least 3 complete sets (including instructions, box is not a must). These sets can be old or new.
  • You must have a decent camera (no webcam) and know how to move pictures from the camera to your PC.
  • You must have enough time to follow the courses and work on your own reviews.
  • You must be motivated to learn how to make the best possible LEGO set reviews.

What's to gain?

  • You will receive a free course from some of the best LEGO set reviewers on the Internet.
  • You are given access to a hidden forum on Eurobricks (The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy).
  • You have the chance to earn a special Eurobricks Reviewers tag upon graduation.
  • Some graduates may have the opportunity to become a "teacher" (and moderator!) in the academy (conditions explained in the academy).

Please post in this thread if you would like an opportunity to participate in this exciting program!

Everyone who's a member of Eurobricks can join when he/she meets the requirements listed above.

I would like to thank everyone who helped these past weeks to make this possible by working on the courses, graphics and the concept.

I would love to give this a go, WhiteFang suggested that I reveiw my vintage 50's/60's sets.

I wish I can join but I cant I dont have the time! :sadnew:

Time is not of the essence.

There's no time limit to completing the Reviewers Academy.

Rethink it and join - there's a lot to be learned in there.

There's not even a catch included.

If you join and decided that it's not for you - then you can freely leave and come back another time.

You're not going to get banned or anything crazy like that.
