Sastrei Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Hi all, First, for anyone that might read this and not the other 5 forums (what? I'm trying to get it noticed! :D ) I've sent this to, a quick explanation. BrickSpace is a mod built on the 1999 computer game Homeworld 1. It seeks/sought to bring the Classic Space era to life. Players are able to command fleets against other human opponents online, or play by themselves against the computer. All this happens in a completely 3D environment, with little to no restriction on range of movement. Always use to bet your friend that your Galaxy Explorer to kick his Galaxy Commander's butt? Well here's your chance. I'm releasing BrickSpace early, as I've run into some major problems after this point. It is a mod for HW1, so you do need that game to run the mod. It's an older game though, so you can snag it for under 5 bucks on Amazon. There's maps included for testing, I'd advise you to check those out first. For reasons unknown, I can't get the computer to give me a lego vs lego battle, still working on that. Can't think of anything else at the moment, so dl, and enjoy! http://www.classic-space.com/brickspace/ Edit: Criminey why is CSF the only forum with resize? LMK if that's ^ too distracting, I'll change it to a link. Please let me know if you find any bugs or glitches (I know about the salbeam). Any and all feedback is much appreciated! I'd also like to organize a (regular?) multiplayer game, if possible. -Stefan- Quote
Lost Viking Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 That looks fun thanks for showing us! Quote
Sastrei Posted August 13, 2005 Author Posted August 13, 2005 The only problem would prolly be payin' more for shippin' than the actual game. :D http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/store...51?s=videogames -Stefan- Quote
Jipay Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 that's funny because I am actually creating a mmorts, but not in lego bricks (this also explains why I'm not here that much lately). I do hope you will use all the space lines models for your game. A good mtron vs blacktron battle could only be good :-D Quote
Sastrei Posted August 15, 2005 Author Posted August 15, 2005 I've actually run out of room to mod Homeworld, and am looking at either modding HW2 or creating a new game platform from scratch. There's 2 other universes to draw from, and a lot of content for any of the 3. But yes, there are long term plans to bring as much brick to space as possible. :) -Stefan- Quote
Jipay Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 I think you should program the game yourself instead of using mod. Mod is ok but it requiers players to have the game. You could use a free game motor or even buy one *satis* Quote
Sastrei Posted August 18, 2005 Author Posted August 18, 2005 Ji, I am actually looking at what it'd take to make a new, commercial quality game. So far, about 2 or 3 years, several bottles of tylenol, aspirin, and corona, and more than a few late nights. :D I've added some demo movies, and purdied up the page. Take a gander and lmkwyt! http://www.classic-space.com/brickspace/ Thanks to SteveR and Fazoom for hosting me on C-S.com, and thanks to the which of ya that made the front page, 'cuz as you can see I ripped it off. :D -Stefan- Quote
Jipay Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 why don't you use darkbasic language to programm your future hit ? :) Quote
