Well, what does everyone think?

I myself like some of the parts and hope that they stick around for a little while. I won't miss the minifig size or the juniorization at all though.

And that just means more system sets instead! :-D

Well, it does help close the gap between the Duplo-sized sets and the System sets, but since I'm not really too interested in these types of sets, I voted for #2, although I think cheese tastes pretty good too. :P ;)

I wouldn't criticise this line so much. These sets were just made for younger kids and that's all. I wouldn't buy any of them but that doesn't mean they're bad. They are just not my type :) I voted for keeping some of the parts, for example pirate ship's hull would be a great base for a big System scaled ship, the biggest there ever was. They already used it in Harry Potter's line, but it didn't have any centre sections there. One could build a great manowar using this hull's bow and stern and, say, 4 centre sections... Yeah! I wouldn't get that whole 4+ ship but if I had the opportunity to buy only its hull and maybe masts I wouldn't hesitate.

DIE 4+ DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You said it Matti Boi!

I don't care if its intended for small children. Small children have plenty of other LEGO themes they can build things out of. No need to insult Pirates by mutating them with Jack Stone...

Here's an update to the 4+ issue.

From the Brickfest audio thread:

In BimP_13_08_13_05.mp3 around 31:35 mark:

"Our view is that we will stay with Duplo for pre-school and SYSYEM for in school, we will not build on this what we call this 4+ junior platform because we don't feel that there is a real space that is satisfying for the users between Duplo and SYSTEM. You see that in the City line for instance where we are pushing SYSTEM down to a 5+ range we know that sometimes their parents are buying that for 4+ age boy and that is somewhat problematic but that's the strategy we're introducing. Its always been a strategic issue for us to close that gap but we do it by extending Duplo out and taking some of the SYSTEM boxes down."

In summary 4+ wasn't doing it was suppose to so its going bye byes!
