meschepers Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 You know, I never really thought about using the guys with the blue and red stripes as regular sailors on imperial ships. I may have to try that now. Quote
Fluyt Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Mine is probably the same as infomaniacs' (or the same, but the red version), I also use them for my imperial factions (red version for imp. guards and blue for imp. soldiers). I also use the regular imperial guard or soldier with epaulettes, backpack and shako fairly much. Quote
Admiral Bejaune Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 It doesn't matter what color strips the minifigs have I use them both for my navy ships no matter what country the ship belongs too. There are some pirate minifigs that cannot be used on a navy ship because they are dressed to piraty. If that makes any sense.. And the nicer dressed pirate minifigs are good for the ship's doctor, or a diplomat, etc. Quote

It's easily exchangeable for a different more civilized one without that typical eyepatch. It can be used as a standard sailor, pirate, merchant, citizen or officer. One can even add epaulettes (check out the pictures in building book 260 where this guy is hanging off a rigging wearing red epaulettes) or change leg color into black, grey, red, light blue, orange or even green although that is not my favorite color match. And the brown or black tricorne can be changed into a bicorne, a standard pirate rag or a male or female hairpiece in different colors which makes him look different all the time. I even made some black pirates off this torso since the lack of yellow (flesh) arms and visible yellow necks makes this torso quite "versatile" so to say. All you have to do is exchange the hands into brown ones and use the heads of those NBA players and there you go. Edited September 1, 2008 by jamtf Quote
randomparrot Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I don't have any pirate LEGO but really like the Theme and will be scouring bricklink for them and buy the new sets. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Probably the striped torso, because it can be used for any type of crew or for town folk. They are readily avalible and they have very generic patterns so I use 'em for everything. Regards, Captain Zuloo Quote
Admiral BrickFin Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Hmm... got to be the stripy sailor, they're very versitile as they fit in as either pirate or imperial, even merchants. My second most used is the Imperial soldier grunt, for obvious reasons. True blue! Quote
