What display, what theme, what do you mean?

Any display really, height is a universal thing. but i'm doing it for my city.

You could ofcourse make some wooden stands with the same height as bricks and then build bricks around it...

Build high buildings in the rear and low ones in front, create some tunnels were you can build over......look at a lot of pictures of real cities or displays on BS...

I would use some hardcover books, and cover them with your color choice of cloth. You could also build stands with Lego bricks.

You can also use BURPs and LURPs in the corners and middle.

Of course, if i did that it would probably take hundreds of BURPs.

If you wanted it to be built out of LEGO, instead of using BURPS/LURPS, get some Duplo. Duplo bricks are pretty easy to get a hold of as parents offload the things when their kids "outgrow" them. Build the framework of your hill/elevation out of Duplo, then top it off with regular LEGO plates and whotnot to interface it with your display peices.

If you hide it all under the sets you are diplsying, no one will even know it's Duplo under there...
