JimBee Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I have to say I have never seen a MOC based off of a ride, but this is great! I imagine that machinery on the roof is the cart track? I like how you made all of that structure like wood. Good work! Quote
Sir Dillon Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Wonderful creation! You continue to impress me with your work. There are lots of great details spread throughout, but I think my favourite part is the sluice boxes and the way you've attached them. The building itself is also really cool. Building it sideways like you did is something I don't normally see, and looks really good. Quote
united brick Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 This is truly amazing! It looks much better outside though Quote
Aliencat Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Awesome! I love all the details and the atmosphere. Very nice work! Quote
Guss Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 it's really an incredibly awesome moc... really love it ! Quote
oo7 Posted October 9, 2008 Author Posted October 9, 2008 I return today to give a few belated thanks to those whose comments came in after I had taken leave and also to offer those interested a shot of my expanded setup, now elevated on an actual hill, I have room for the actual underground shaft visible around the back. More and better quality photographs to come once I get the chance for the first time in weeks to work on it further this coming weekend. Quote
Teddy Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Dear oo7, I like the updates you made to the terrain. I really like the rock formations with the different layers. Thats a nice touch. I can't make up what you used as a river in that photo? Transparant plates with flex-tubes on top? Thumbs up so far! Kind regards, Teddy Quote
oo7 Posted October 10, 2008 Author Posted October 10, 2008 Thanks for the kind words, Mr. Teddy! The river consists of a handful or so of 1x2 trans plates, 1x1 trans round plates, 1x1 trans round bricks, and 1x1 trans "cheese" slopes simply dumped into the "canal". Well, except for the ends where they're built up to prevent overflow onto the table. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Looking really cool now oo7! I love the muddy water effect with the tiles on tan Its great to see you haven't finished the build as it keeps getting better IMHO. Rocks are nice with the colour toning. Cant wait for more pics. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Sweet man. Nothing else to say but sweet. This is why you have "Moc Expert" under your name. Well done. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 007: I've been meaning to comment on this outstanding creation for some time, but never got around to it. As I always say after seeing your creations, this is another excellent MOC. Your Western MOCs (with the exception of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow), are your best. This one comes very close to your Mexican town (almost a toss up for me). I love your building style with use of numerous flat tiles and colors like brown grey, and tan. This mine looks so much like something you'd see in a Wild West movie, I could almost smell the dust from the cave and hear the picks clanking against the ore. I esp. like the way you created the flume, and the great details like the wheels, chain, and ropes. I'm also impressed with your design of the lamp pole/post. I've tried to create numerous wooden beams like this before, and they've never come out. Yours is a creative design that looks great. The figs are equally nice and compliment the mine well. Another OUTSTANDING 007 creation! I admire your building talents. Quote

Thanks, I am indeed continuing to update, however I've gotten caught up in some other things first including the expansion of my Japanese teahouse so it's likely that pictures of those will be coming before more of this. Sweet man. Nothing else to say but sweet. This is why you have "Moc Expert" under your name. Well done. It's also interesting to hear that you think my Western creations are my pinnacle along with that old old Halloween diorama - I don't get such solid statements of opinion very often. Thanks again, everyone! Quote
Lego12 Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 That thing is amazing! It's beautiful! I love it! It's great! One of the best things about it, is the walls? How do you attach the flat tiles on there? I must learn that technique! Quote
