Derek Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I noticed this on Brickshelf a little while ago, and found it to be rather disturbing. Is there anyway to report things on Brickshelf? I hope this person gets help with their problems... darthperson Quote

And this person may not have "problems" as you put it-maybe it's just their perspective on life, or maybe it's re-enacting something they saw on TV. It's one thing to be disturbed by something-you have a right to that opinion for sure-but you shouldn't, in my opinion, judge the person who made that MOC so harshly. Considering some of the stuff I've seen on BrickShelf and on prime time TV, I doubt it will be removed but I am sorry to hear you were so disturbed by it. Quote

rriggs Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 (edited) Just looks like a renactment of either a real life "Police Camera Action" type scene or something else from TV. Not a terribly fun subject but nothing that would offend me nor lead me to think that the creator has any issues. Maybe you could argue that Lego is an inappropriate media for such a scene but no more so than the muppets being used to recreate scenes from Pulp Fiction... There's nothing there that I would have said needs reporting. Cheers Rog Edited September 2, 2008 by rriggs Quote

Not to meantion i've seen alot worse on brickshelf. From mocs of video games ranging from "DOOM" to fatality scenes from "Mortal Kombat", to mocs of the "Running with the bulls". Like Hinkley said, sorry if you got offended by this, but i don't see anything wrong with this person. Quote

Sorry if this comes off as rude, but heck, it's a minifig with a LEGO gun pointed to his head. It's plastic. It's not real. Come on! If you really can't tolerate stuff like that (plastic people commiting suicide) you should disconnect your PC from the Internet. Quote

Its a Brown Revolver! Do you think Clone weapons even shoot like the Lego ones? Its just blanks! Quote
Fluyt Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 If you think this is offensive, the internet is not really the place for you. You're bound to stumble upon a lot more "offensive" stuff, even on brickshelf. Quote
voxel Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Hi! There's worse things on brickshelf...Say, Giant tampon spaceships!! "Carefree", LOL. A truly bloody spaceship ;-) The tampon ship we have yet to see, looks more like a sanitary napkin to me. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 COME on. First off, how can you NOT be surprised that a kid living these days would NOT make that? And heck, I could make that in a jiffy and I wouldn't have problems because I'd just be representing people who are mentally retarded who might try and do that. Anyways, not to take this a ranty flamish sort of topic, I'll stop there, and end it on a note ALL active EBers agree on. You know what's disturbing? Megabloks. Quote
Hinckley Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Let's play a game. It's called: Don't gang up on darthperson. All the responses left after his original post are saying basically the same thing. Only post if you have something new to add to the conversation. There's no reason for everyone to turn on one member. He was just expressing his opinion, after all and a counterpoint has been sufficiently established... Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I personally found the moc lacking in blood. Needs a few minifigs with those scared, crying faces running away with their arms up. I wouldn't have even realized what was going on unless someone had told me. ::goes back to building mecha with female genitals:: Quote
M'Kyuun Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 There's worse things on brickshelf...Say, Giant tampon spaceships!! LOL! It's so innocent, but yet so bad. You made my day! Quote
Corpreal363 Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 There's worse things on brickshelf...Say, Giant tampon spaceships!! Woah, You just everything bad in this topic good! And are those guns clones? if so, Where might I find these? Quote
JopieK Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Well I think I can understand why darthperson calls it disturbing. But we live in a world with a lot of disturbing rubbish. In case of pirates and castle, we make a myth out of it and then it becomes acceptable, in the movies most of such a things are also considered as common (and I myself am also fond of CSI). In this case it boils down to why that guy created and posted those images. Quote
Racer-18 Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Yes, this is a bit strange, but what can you expect is this modern day society when this sort of thing are played up in TV shows/movies/games/books? Quote
