A search interface! Are you trying to show us the same thing metalandi told us about in the post above yours? If so, you've failed to link us up correctly. Quote
metalandi Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I think what he means, is really what i meant. Here's the right link: http://powerminers.lego.com/en-US/Building...ns/Default.aspx If you meant the normal buildings instructions page, you are a bit late, dude. Quote
Svelte Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 It's interesting that on the usual Building Instructions page, the sets appear under 'Inner Earth' rather than 'Power Miners'. Obviously 'Inner Earth' was too close to 'Inner Child' or something when they were doing their market testing and they didn't go with the hippyish theme name I suspected those rock creatures were on something from their severe case of the munchies. Adam Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I like the look of that new "Boulder Blaster" MacK mentioned (the accessory count and part usage is smart), but does anybody know it's price? I'm sorry if this information has been given earlier, but I can't seem to find it in this thread... That's interesting... I guess that Power Miners will go under "Inner Earth" in some countries. By the way, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but here goes: There will be a Power Miners "mini-movie," on Friday nights starting February 9th on Nickelodeon. Quote
metalandi Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Woops, I saw this in my '09 Catalog but didn't notice that it was new! I think this looks pretty cool. Just saw that, and that makes me thinking about something interesting. Could it be that TLG gives us different hints in every country's catalogues on what sets are coming later this year? I'm just wondering, cause first i found the helicopter transport city set in my catalogue, and now this new PM set is in your catalogue. It seems they put at least one different new set in each new catalogue. Quote

I'm just wondering, cause first i found the helicopter transport city set in my catalogue, and now this new PM set is in your catalogue. It seems they put at least one different new set in each new catalogue. I don't know if it is deliberate, but one Aus catalogue every year usually has one set that appears as new or where images haven't been previously released. This time we had Power Miners/ Dooku's Solar Sailer, previous years have seen the infamous ExoForce 'Bad Guy Vehicle' and the first small pic of Dwarves Mine was also in an Australian catalogue. However with catalogues I assume that all artwork is supplied by Lego to the local arm of the company here, who organise production of the Club mag and the catalogues. You can often tell in the pages where the local designers have photoshopped over old sets that aren't being released in Australia any more. Eg, in the Cargo spread of pages all the mail vans from 08 have been replaced with mail planes in 09! Bizarrely in the most recent catalogue in the Farm section, the graphic designer has photoshopped over the individual yellow antenna which Lego has used to represent crops in the new theme, and replaced them with generic blurry wheat field photos! I'll have to find a pic of that one as it's really odd Quote
whung Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 (edited) There are 2 more small Power Miners set instructions found in Customer Service Instruction Page I believe these are promos again. 8907 Rock Hacker http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildin...ons/4556874.pdf 8908 Monster Launcher http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildin...ons/4556964.pdf Edited January 6, 2009 by whung Quote

The Cobra Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 (edited) There are 2 more small Power Miners set instructions found in Customer Service Instruction PageI believe these are promos again. Those are the only two sets available when searching by keyword (the keyword being "miners"), and as Whung said they are "co-promotion" (with whom? who knows.). Yet they do not appear in the brand search (brand being "inner earth", as Svelte corps said). Well, I really like the Rock hacker, while the Monster launcher looks a bit lame to me. But that's not really a problem, since here in Italy we see a Lego promo set every ten years, and we just did in 2008 (Exo-force with Duracell). Edited January 6, 2009 by The Cobra Quote
Brickthing Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I like those two promos, although the second one is probably only good for an easy crystal and monster. That is, if the sets are easy to get in NZ. Which they won't be. I think it's interesting how promos like these are larger than impulse sets, but are often cheaper... Quote

I have a feeling it will be on of the traditional $50 Target exclusive sets at Christmastime next year. Quote

If that costs $50, I, and a lot of other people will not be happy! It really doesn't look any bigger than the thunder driller which was $30... I guess we'll find out soon enough. Quote
KAHUKA Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I love the Power Miners but as none of you have posted ( or noticed) everybody is white thats my main problem with lego is that 99.9% of the minifigs are white guys. Quote

Why does that bug you? As others have already meantioned, there yellow. The purpose of this, i imagine, is not to distinguish race of any kind being Lego is such a world wide toy. Now thats not to say that i wouldn't welcome differnet color mini figs. I think the diversity would be great! But if TLC never did it (in city, or addtional fantasy theme's) i wouldn't be heart broken either. Quote
