Wout Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) Although I will not buy it, It is not a bad set. But not for 100 euro, I would be more logical to ask only +/- 65 euro for it. Edit: It's even worse. People in the Netherlands must pay 110 euro for it. (= +/- 175 U.S. dollar A.F.A.I.K.) Edited September 5, 2008 by Wout Quote
Hinckley Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Sorry friend but is old news yesterday, I was the first to take pictures on eurobricks. See Link http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...20245&st=30 TheBrickster didn't claim to find the pics. He posted news that the set is available. Original pics of this set actually appeared on this site weeks ago in the same thread you referenced. But, in case it's really that important to you, I put your name on the front page... Quote
LegoFranks Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 £69 quid!? For having the same, if not less, number of pieces as the Space Factory sets? Hm, well, TLC dropped the ball with the Space sets, let's hope they realise same with this one. I was ready to buy it for £49.99... M. Quote
Lego12 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 These look wonderful! I'll get them for Christmas.... Good price for the amount of pieces! Hot Rods ON! Quote
Matn Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) 110 euro?! Euhm? I hope this is wrong, because, well... It isn't worth that much of money? C'mon, and it's only 70 dollar? 70 dollar = 110 euro... I don't think so. Edited September 6, 2008 by Matn Quote
metalandi Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 And yet another strange exchange course of TLG. I really don't get that, this just can't be right. Do they think people in europe are more rich because the euro is more worth than the USD? Quote
DJ Force Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 They think that the US market has more competition in brick building systems than the European market. That´s the reason more and more rip-off brands pop up in Europe as well. Megablocks is widely available now in Germany, and more and more I see Asian brands showing up on fairs and fleamarkets. On the other hand, this evolution might lead to more competition in Europe as well, so the prices might drop sooner or later. ...rather later, I assume. Quote
highlandcattle Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Wow 175 US dollar. Why is Lego overcharging us this much? I'll just download the instructions and make the cars with my own pieces. Hopefully there will be printed instructions and not only LDD as with the 10183 Quote

canadianD Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 looks good i heard some rumors about something like this at brickfair. Can't wait for it to come out! Quote
metalandi Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 It IS out, that's what this thread is about Quote
The Rancor Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Seems like a good set and a good deal NO it isn't! £70 in the UK and $70 in the USA. How is that fair pricing? Quote
metalandi Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Yes that sucks, and i think we should do something about it, like sending a mail to TLG or something else. I really don't get that "exchange course" they have, it's absolutely wrong. How do they come to this? I don't get it. Everywhere else in the world everything has got a normal exchange course with the exception of lego. Quote
highlandcattle Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Do you even know what you are saying?Read it and weep, man. It's only 70 USD. Do you even know what I am saying, It is a $175 in Europe. I do not care what the pricing is in USA, this is EURObricks. Quote
DJ Force Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Then why are you making it so difficult? There´s no $ in Europe. We have € - and at least in Germany it´s 99€ Quote
Jameseh Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I don't think we'll see a PaB update, they just used some pieces to smarten it up from the original design, the sticker proves my point. Although saying that, there's alot of figures on eBay UK with that Naboo pilot torso, so I think there must be a supply of them somewhere, probobly from a in-store PaB. Quote
Pencoin Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 This is one bad deal if you ask me, add another £20 on and i could get town plan, Also i dont think those parts will appear in factory/PaB. I think they will be exclusive to that CD. Quote
DJ Force Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Is there a link somewhere to the original designs? Seems like many people here already knew the cars a long time ago... Quote
Eilif Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) NO it isn't!£70 in the UK and $70 in the USA. How is that fair pricing? Settle down, no need for Rancorous (sorry couldn't resist) debate here. I humbly suggest that before you go off replying in haste to a post, you read the quote in context (my location should be enough to indicate that I was referring to US pricing), and read the entire thread (in post 18 I state complete agreement with your feelings about brit/euro pricing). Dfenz Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 €99 seems pricy for a set like this - it's not that exciting and many small pieces. With a US price of $70, I would have thought a European price of €70 more reasonable (that's still a huge chunk more dough than $70). Seems like the Space Skulls/Star Justice - which were €99 here too on release, then reduced to €70 (although that price still doesn't entice me). Your wish has been granted. Its now euro 69.99 on LS@H to Irish and other euro country customers (listed as on 'sale' in Belgium for some reason). The UK price now stg£49.99! If I'd ordered it at euro99.99 I'd be looking for a refund. David Quote
highlandcattle Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Hah that price is better! I hope that the people who already ordered get a refund. If somebody buys it ,please tell us if a regular manual is included. My PC is to old to run the software. Quote

You may be right, but stickers prove nothing. A PAB update followed the release of the previous Factory kits Space Skulls and Star Justice, and both of those kits had sticker sheets. Quote

There's a printed set of instructions for the set. Being one of the designers of the set, I was very happy to see the US price point. And as for stickers and updates...I can neither confirm nor deny that:-) Joe Quote
Guss Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) in switzerland it cost 109 CHF , it's approximately 60-70€ I don't think it's really that expensive for a 893 bricks set. Edited September 8, 2008 by Guss Quote

As concerns a PAB update, somehow a "neither confirm or deny" from someone involved is way more encouraging than any other evidence for or against. Quote
