jmenomeno Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) Thanks for the info Joe. Congrats on this set. Care to tell us what part of the set you designed? As concerns a PAB update, somehow a "neither confirm or deny" from someone involved is way more encouraging than any other evidence for or against. I designed the garage. The cars that I designed up until deadline weren't all that great, but some elements of them got incorporated into the other cars. Turns out that I hit my car stride in the alternates, which are on the box art and in the CD. And you're catching on about the "neither confirm or deny":-) Joe PS Thanks for the compliment! highlandcattle Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Alright printend intructions I'm buying it for christmass Quote
brickzone Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Well, I will admit that despite my pseudo-premonition, I wasn't expecting the price to change so quickly! At €70 it is certainly far better value and quite a reasonable price! I agree with what someone else mentioned - that it seems odd for the main photo not to show the entire set! Quote
Johnny 5 Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Saw this on the frontpage but never opened this thread, then I open it just now and see that the engines are modular! That is FANTASTIC!!! That one detail alone has made this the next set I order (which is not to be confused with the next set I buy, 7739). Quote
Mirandir Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 It seems like there's been a few misshaps in European pricings lately... First there's the 10188 Death Star that goes up by almost 20% and now this set dropping 30% i price. Both whitin the first five days after "release" on S@H. Ok, two misshaps in three months isn't that much but, after all, this is two quite spectacular changes in price. I guess it could be that the latest change is a result of poor sales in combination with the pricebashing in this forum. But still the original price was extremely high for a non-licensed set. Quote

Both happened because exchange rates were not updated. It would be wrong to assume a price change would happen so quickly because of poor sales whithin the first month, much less the first five days. As for any one forum influencing any price policy.... Joe Quote
Mirandir Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Both happened because exchange rates were not updated. I'm afraid you lost me there... Exchange rates hasent changed *that* dramatically over the last three months, has they? I don't think that DKK has dropped by some 30% recently. Or am I totaly missreading you here. Buiness economics aren't directly my strong side. ;) And as far as I remember the european price on the 10188 skyrocketed becasue of an information misstake as the set was actually larger (piecewise/minifigcount) when released than was originally planned. So I'm wondering if this set was originally planned to be bigger than it is... The point I was trying to make is that it seems like the people at LEGO responsible for the European pricing doesn't seem to be 100% on top of things. And are wondering if we will continue to see sets that are released with suprisingly high/low prices that changes whitin a few days. Quote

Donnyboy, this is considered a past event news item, which most of us are already aware of. You could visit SHOP@Home website to view the item which is listed across different supporting countries. Next, there is a topic which was done much earlier ago. To prevent Eurobricks to be cluttered up by multiple topics of the same agenda which do not serve any purpose at all, I have merged your topic with this. Discovering this discussion is simple, use the search function to ensure that no such similar topic was done previously. Thanks. WhiteFang Quote

Sorry for bumping the thread back, but finally I REALLY have to know what that additional "rack" is supposed to be. I bought my second 10200 lately to enlarge my garage, and now I´m stuck with two of these rack thingies. If I knew the use, I could decide wether to keep both intact or disassemble one for the parts... Joe, maybe you as one of the designers can shed some light on this? I´m talking about the thing with the 4 grey handles... Quote
Rick Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Isn't it a limited-by-the-pieces-available-gas-pump? Quote
DJ Force Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Without even a hose? There are hoses in LDD and PaB, so my guess is they would have been included in a gas pump, IF it was a gas-pump :) I might think it is something to measure the tire pressure. The decals would give a hint for that.... Quote
