Batbrick Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Hi folks! Welcome to Bat Mocs'N'Mods Treat 5! Brainbox is back in full force now but seems to be getting mysterious haircuts, which we will find out why soon.... Today we have: 2 Mods 2 Updations 3 Creations And a close shave..... Here we go, as usual the Batmods are up first: Part 1 - The Mods: Batbike mod: Okay, the original Batbike from the Harley set way way too wide and chunky, so I devised a mod that would make it into a beast of a bike, but one that wasn't quite so ugly: Mods done were removed flick fires, colours changed to black, removing of grey technic pieces to make cycle thinner and overall creation of a cooler bike: Final shot of the improved Batbike (not ot be confused with the Batcycle or Batpod ): Harley Quinn Truck Mod: Okay, as cool and fun as the hammer was I wanted something a bit more practical for Harley and room for a back seat. Mods done were removed hammer, better red/black colour configuration, added second seat for the "puddin", lowered crate, better controls and more filled in overall (less holes"): The back: And the whole thing in action! Part 2 - The Updations: Whirlybat update: Added a more aesthetically and aerodynamically pleasing nose, as well as a nice piece that provides a little restraint where batman sits: In action: Harley Truck update - Now Two-Face Truck! Enjoy it while it lasts gents, I demolished it to make the Iceberg Lounge sadly: The truck packs four hidden guns at the front. Why four and not two you ask? Because Two-Face likes to pack twice the expected punch! Final shot: Part 3 - The Creations: The Tumbler: Total and utter credit to Wetwire on this one for his fantastic Tumbler design. I merely modded it more to my tastes. Changed things from his designs are the front windows which I decided upon after looking at various Tumbler pics, the front glass which now has the famous "weapons" mode cockpit, and the sides which I decided on having less black "flags". Note that the last part I mentioned was done after these pics. Final shot because I don't want too many: Batsled: No, I didn't like the one from the Batcave set, it was a little too flimsy and too big. So here is my new one: I think it is missing something, but I'm not sure yet, so look for an update in the future. I am happy with the flames and batarang holders though: Like another Bat vehicle of mine, it looks a lot better when Batman is in it: Both Batman and Robin in there respectful vehicles: Bat ATV (or Batbuggy): Less than enthused with TLC's version, but inspired by the practical idea of Batman having his own small all terrain unit for out of the city, I made my own: I must say I'm extremely happy with it, the quasi-silver spoiler pieces helped a lot, as did the simple seat, controls and 1x1 trans slope: One more shot: More of shots and everything else here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=295368 Part 4 - The close shave: Here it is folks, in a many attempt to finally put an end to Brainbox's eternal punning, fanboyism and all round admittingly superior knowledge of the Bat cave extras, Batbrick prepared to chop him to pieces when he next entered the Batbrickcave: The device was a huge failure multiple times, succeeding in only giving the geek a free haircut each time, which he attributed to natural causes. Batbrick cried out: "But he isn't a penitent man!" Batbrick slumps against the transparent wall, saddened and annoyed at Brainbox's ignorance of what just transpired. Oh well, maybe next time! Hope you enjoyed and do please comment, thanks! Batbrick Away! Quote
JimBee Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Great work, Batbrick!! Your (and Brainbox's) dedication to Lego Batman is amazing! Anyways, here are my views on this treat: Batbike: A very good attempt. I like the wings covering up the engines in back. However, I don't like how it slants down at the front. By the way, what is the difference between the Batcycle/pod/bike? Harley Quinn Truck Great! I really like how you modified it to fit two figs and the crate. I would just mix up the black and red a bit more though, because it kind of looks like a Two-Face style vehicle. Copter: It's alright. I like how you had an action shot of the propellers spinning. By the way, what's an "updation"? Forgive me if this is what you call "update" in Aus. Two-Face Truck Simple, but very clever. I really like the windshield and cab. Tumbler Amazing! Very good, Wetwired and Batbrick. The shape is captured perfectly. Sled Great! Good use of those Bionicle weapons. ATV Very good, captures the look of an ATV very well. I wonder why Batman needs so many vehicles? Close shave Hilarious! Quote
strider406 Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Nice job BatBrick. I really like the whirlybat. Two-Face should have fun in his truck. Also the Batbuggy and the Batsled look awsome. Quote
iamded Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Haha! Those are awesome man! While they're all so cool, I'd have to say my favourites are Two-face's truck, the Tumbler, and Batman's ATV. That little buggy is so cool! ~Peace Quote
???theriddler??? Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I love them all, really great job!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
MoWo Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 In One Word: GREAT!! I like the ATV the most! Keep on doing Bat mocs'N'Mods! Undersigned MoWo Quote
Manta Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Awesome job BatBrick. I think my favorites are the 2 Face Truck, The Bat ATV, and the Close Shave. The only flaw I see it the Hammer Truck, the front looks like it is missing something to me, but not too major, it's still an amazing MOC. Quote
The Penguin Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Great as always, sir! ) Great! ) But the greatest of them all is Two-Face truck! ) Huge! ) No words toi express my emotions! ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote
Manta Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Your topic has 230 views, but only 7 posts? I find that kind of sad, especially considering the quality of the MOCs you have made. OK, apart from my random rant, I have noticed that everyone seems to have a different favorite MOC in this thread. Quote
Brainbox Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Brainbox is back in full force now Although if the past few days are anything to go by, maybe not. Anyway, the Batbike looks a lot better. I've still not seen it in person, but it looks a little too chunky and a bit clumsy. This looks sleeker, and generally cooler. The Hammer Hummer (surely you remember that) looks good. I rather like the hammer, but I can see why you removed it. Harley's consideration for road safety is great, seeing as how she's watching the road in that last pic... The whirlybat looks neat, and we finally get to see the fabled Hand of Batbrick... The Two-Face truck is really cool. And twice the punch? Genius...* Wetwire's Tumbler looks great as always. The Batsled, well, I rather like the original, but this is good too. It has a sort of classic-y look to it, which is good. Bat-ATV: Sweet! Close Shave? Absolutely brilliant, seriously. This is the best 'And Finally' yet! Here it is folks, in a many attempt to finally put an end to Brainbox's eternal punning, fanboyism and all round admittingly superior knowledge of the Bat cave extras, Batbrick prepared to chop him to pieces when he next entered the Batbrickcave: Ooh, harsh! Batbrick slumps against the transparent wall, saddened and annoyed at Brainbox's ignorance of what just transpired. Oh well, maybe next time! It's true... I am a little oblivious to everything sometimes. Your (and Brainbox's) dedication to Lego Batman is amazing! Aw, thanks. *albeit somewhat flawed. Quote
Batbrick Posted September 12, 2008 Author Posted September 12, 2008 Thanks everyone! Batbike:A very good attempt. I like the wings covering up the engines in back. However, I don't like how it slants down at the front. By the way, what is the difference between the Batcycle/pod/bike? They are all simply bikes really, this one is the biggest and more powerful, used for situations where the Battank would also come in handy, hence why it slants at the front. Harley Quinn TruckGreat! I really like how you modified it to fit two figs and the crate. I would just mix up the black and red a bit more though, because it kind of looks like a Two-Face style vehicle. Do explain the mixing please, you do know that Harley's colour scheme is the checkerboard red/black pattern right? Copter:It's alright. I like how you had an action shot of the propellers spinning. By the way, what's an "updation"? Forgive me if this is what you call "update" in Aus. An updation is basically my made-up word for an update, yes. And don't ever diss the Whirlybat ATVVery good, captures the look of an ATV very well. I wonder why Batman needs so many vehicles? Thanks, he needs vehicles for many different situations, and often just keeps the old ones for memorabilia. Haha! Those are awesome man! While they're all so cool, I'd have to say my favourites are Two-face's truck, the Tumbler, and Batman's ATV. That little buggy is so cool! ~Peace Thanks mate! I'm glad everyone likes the buggy its one of my favourites. Keep on doing Bat mocs'N'Mods! I will, I've already done enough mocs and mods for a sixth one Awesome job BatBrick. I think my favorites are the 2 Face Truck, The Bat ATV, and the Close Shave. The only flaw I see it the Hammer Truck, the front looks like it is missing something to me, but not too major, it's still an amazing MOC. Thanks, I will look into that Harley Truck problem you see. Great as always, sir! ) Great! ) But the greatest of them all is Two-Face truck! ) Huge! ) Thanks the Penguin, glad you liked the new Two-Face truck. Your topic has 230 views, but only 7 posts? I find that kind of sad, especially considering the quality of the MOCs you have made. Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed myself really, all this work and so ignored The licensed Themes forum is so underrated. Harley's consideration for road safety is great, seeing as how she's watching the road in that last pic... t does look too chunky, so I'm glad with how the mod came out. Thanks for the comment on the Hammer Hummer (Yes I do remember it ) too, you're right too, she is a little road safe today! The whirlybat looks neat, and we finally get to see the fabled Hand of Batbrick... Thanks, the fabled hand of Batbrick has appeared many times before however..... The Two-Face truck is really cool. And twice the punch? Genius...* Thought you'd like that little twist. Wetwire's Tumbler looks great as always. The Batsled, well, I rather like the original, but this is good too. It has a sort of classic-y look to it, which is good. Bat-ATV: Sweet! Yeah, I did like the original and it wasn't as flimsy as people say, but everytime I saw it I got horrible flashbacks to the similar Sled used in Batman and robin, as well as its subsequent scenes Close Shave? Absolutely brilliant, seriously. This is the best 'And Finally' yet! Thanks, did you get the Indiana Jones reference? *albeit somewhat flawed. For you maybe. Batbrick Away! Quote
JimBee Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Do explain the mixing please, you do know that Harley's colour scheme is the checkerboard red/black pattern right? Actually, no. Carry on... Quote
hollisbrick Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Wow You never cease to amaze me with your Mocs Mods etc. I like the mini tumbler. Also the "close shave" is funny Keep up the great work Btw whats in the two face truck? Quote
Flatfoot Thompsen Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 That Two - Face truck is AWESOME!!! Quote
Brainbox Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Do explain the mixing please, you do know that Harley's colour scheme is the checkerboard red/black pattern right? Oh, you've just given me another idea for Batman RIP. The red/black checkerboard is used to represent good and evil all over the place. I was thinking the Black Glove and the Red Hood (ie the Joker), but perhaps the Joker is more involved than we think as red and black are Harley's colours. Thanks, he needs vehicles for many different situations, and often just keeps the old ones for memorabilia. He's a lot more sentimental than he lets on. Who do you think maintains the Trophy Room in the new Hall of Justice? I will, I've already done enough mocs and mods for a sixth one What? Aw, not another one. Great, looking forward to it. Thanks, the fabled hand of Batbrick has appeared many times before however..... Oh... yes, of course. Yeah, I did like the original and it wasn't as flimsy as people say, but everytime I saw it I got horrible flashbacks to the similar Sled used in Batman and robin, as well as its subsequent scenes I've MODed mine a little, as I don't mind it, but... it's missing something. That's why I've held off posting it, I can't work out what it is. Thanks, did you get the Indiana Jones reference? Oh, of course I did. Nice. Quote
VBBN Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 The best yet! The two-face truck is outstanding. To bad it had to suffer... The ATV has a very cool and clever design-Nice job! The batbike/harley truck looks nice. I'm not to fond of the batbike overall mainly due to it's...odd shape. But that's just a personal taste. I look forward to seeing what's next p from you! I must say, this Moc'n'mod treats and the Batmoc goody bag have inspired me to make my own type of thing like this... A different them of course. Quote

I must say, this Moc'n'mod treats and the Batmoc goody bag have inspired me to make my own type of thing like this... A different them of course. I've really started something here haven't I? Who new it would turn out to be so successful? Quote
NewRight Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I guess I will just list them in order and critique each one. First I just want to say that they are all wonderful. BatBike Excellent work. Tons better than the original and I know I own the original and it's junk. I love the angle you added to it and the overall appearance it good. Also it looks much better without the stickers, so good work on that. Harley's Hammer Truck I like the overall appearance, but I really like the Hammer that was supplied with the truck. Maybe it the truck was made longer you could include both the Joker and the hammer. That would really add to it. Other than that good work. The BatCopter I think it should maybe look little larger just since it looks like a toothpick right now. Maybe it it had the appearance of some of the RAMM helicopters I have seen around. I like the way you included the engine though. Two-Face Truck Epic Win. This truck is amazing. Nothing negative at all. Amazing work and great detail. Bat Tumbler It looks a little small, but that may have been what you were going for. Great detail and the overall design is good. Bat Sled This idea I found really creative. I like the way you added the sides as well. Great detail! Bat Buggy Great design. If only more ATV looked like this. Though I don't know how well Batman suits an ATV. The Close Shave I don't even know if I have to comment on this, but I found it humorous in an odd way. Great work on all of these MOCs and I really... really like some of them. Quote
