Peg Leg Pascoe Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I'm in the process of building a stealth jet and need help on the cockpit windscreen as i cant decide which windscreen part to use, i plan to use 2 side by side as the jet's quite large. I have this windscreen: But it doesn't provide a great view when my mini-fig is looking out the front of it, all he can see it the round cylinder things as the 2x2 bit at the front is not completely see through. So basically i was looking around at the various different windshield pieces here and the only one i found which would seem to work better was this one: But before i go buying a couple on BrickLink i would really appreciate it if one of you guys could post a pic in front of it looking straight on with a mini-fig sitting upright in it just to see what view he has in front of him with one of these things on top. Sorry if its confusing, I'll explain further if you want but i hope someone has this piece and can take a pic looking at it straight on, doesn't matter what colour it is as long as it's translucent. Thank you guys, hope someone can help!!! Quote
Peg Leg Pascoe Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 Does this help? It does a bit thanks, but i do really need one which is looking at it straight on. From that pic though it looks like the mini-fig could be placed a bit higher and then he will be able to see straight, but at the height he's at there it looks like all he can see is that stupid 2x2 bit which is about as see though as a black cat at night Quote
The Cobra Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Here's a couple of shots I hope they can help. Quote
Peg Leg Pascoe Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 Here's a couple of shots I hope they can help. Those are good and looks like it's fine but i would still like a pic which is completely frontal. Those are good but the pics still taken from a bit of an above angle. Yes i know I'm way to fussy lol but this moc is one of the best I'm hoping to build. Quote
Dadster Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I'd say "just build it" and then you can see for yourself if you like it or not. If you ask 10 different people what they think, you might get 10 different answers... If you're not sure about whether or not you want to spend the money on it, well you can always try to trade or sell to get the exact piece you want. Quote

I think his point was that he doesn't actually have the part and wants to make sure it's right for the job before he spends his hard-earned on Bricklink. Cheers Rog Quote
Peg Leg Pascoe Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 Well I'm pretty sure it will be fine and i haven't really got any other options as there isn't another suitable windscreen piece. They're not much from BrickLink but i just spent £50 on various bricks for this thing on another order but i will probably wait till that gets here first then leave myself room for the windscreens last. xenologer Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 That windscreen is basically just as bad as the one you already have in terms of blocked front view. Just fill up the front with computer displays to make up for the lack of pilot visibility. The new windscreen in the SW Magna Droid Fighter looks promising btw. Its similar style as those two, but narrower (4studs instead of 6) and instead of the block of studs in the front its flat and clear through. So its nice... but probably lends itself to a smaller ship that your project... I got one just for this part tho... Quote
