After having collectected ALL different 2x4 bricks (well, despite the chrome silver one... :hmpf: ) I was looking for a new challenge.

Thanks to Ras (for the idea) and KimT (who provided me with Brasso) I started collecting all different colors of minifigs.

I needed 6 different parts:

970c00 legs and hips 970c00.png 973 torso 973.png 981+982 arms 981.png982.png 983 hands 983.png 6362 head 3626b.png and any kind of headgear

I faced some problems including trying to buy the needed green goblin torso off Bricklink and then realizing it had black hands (wrong description) and buying a second green goblin for a absurd price having black hands AGAIN (wrong picture)! :sing: :skull: Finally I got the green hands at a second hand Lego shop in Duisburg - a true gold mine for little money. :cry_happy:

Here´s the result:

Closeups here.

These are the "spare" parts I have - looking for the rest to complete them, although dark green, violet and sand blue doesn´t seem to be realistic, because too many parts aren´t produced in those colors. Too bad there´s no 3626 in darkblue. :cry_sad:

Next will be dark red and reddish brown.

Happy birthday minifig!

supercool and very fun to look at. To bad you'll never be able to do every color. I would however get rid of one the light grays, it's to much the same.

Very nice, now I know what you needed those different colored hands for! Which reminds me, I'm making my first BL order today to get some of those different colored hands/ heads. These remind me of my Element series. Whoops! Let the cat out of the bag! And what are you talking about with the chrome silver 2x4? I see it right in these pictures! :classic:

I think thats the gold one.

Great collection, very cool to see.

You know, sometimes LEGO will test a piece in a strange color, so I'd continue looking for the parts you lack.

Absolutely great! I've actually been slowly working on a similar project, it's nice to see how wonderful it could turn out.

Did you have to remove print for any of those torsos? I keep thinking there should be one more possible colour if you do, but I can't figure out what it is.

I know we'll never end up with an all-fleshie, since they'd never have a reason to issue flesh coloured hips. So close...

If your far left one is medium blue, the head and a nice helmet are available, but no hands thus far. That's where I'm stuck at.

Thank you for your replies, guys!

Right.

That´s why I mentioned Brasso in the subtitle.

It´s often cheaper to buy a printed torso and remove the printing than buying the single color version.

And you hardly see the difference after brassoing. :classic:

flesh coloured hips? Ah - now I know what you mean...:grin:

The biggest problem is indeed the limited color variation of the hands.

So thats what you needed the Hands for!

Very nice! I like how Lego can be used to even make Modern Artistic Models (If thats what you call it)

Im sure Godtfred Kirk Christiansen would be proud... :cry_happy:

As I was PMing you about this I was thinking, we should have a topic about cool sigs. But this is one exceptional sig! I really love it. It shows how such a simple concept can be so unique and beautiful. It works great as an individual art piece, but it's brilliant as a tribute to 30 years of the mini-fig. Brilliant job, Holodoc, brilliant! I have to say your kids must be super lucky to have a doctor and a creative guy as a father. They must see the world as endless possibilities!

This is a beautiful concept, with a great realization!

They're so fitting in color and shape

Now I understand why you were looking for those hands

Absolutely amazing project, I really love it!

Hope you get hold of a dark bley torso to finish that one - newer hogwarts jumper is presumably not too expensive and relatively common (should be in the same shops as some other parts).

That's a pity about the navy (dark blue) head and the light blue hands.

Can you brasso these hips for fleshie hips?

Nice idea, Johnny!

The description says "Hips and Light Flesh Legs with Dark Pink Skirt with Silver Flecks Pattern", but somehow I doubt the hips are light flesh. The two "connectors" to the torso seem to be tan. :hmpf_bad: And if you click here, the only parts sold are tan. :cry_sad: If it was light flesh Brasso would of course work.

Yeah I looked closer and now see that, I'd have to pull that fig out just to be sure (can't do it now due to being evacuated) but I'm pretty sure your right about it.

Doing new or old brown (which ever you don't have) should be pretty easy. All you need is Chewie and a head. Dark grey or bley should be easy too.

The new Dumbledore has a sandblue torso too... Purple might be tough, as they're discontinuing it.

Very cool to see someone else with a minifig color chart. I have been working on one for several years now. I have over 60 colors now. Not all complete as you have them. But at least 60+ colors. I need to take some more recent pictures. Also I have never used brasso on any of my figs. Its fun to hunt for those none printed fig parts.

Here are some pictures from a few years ago. I have added many more parts to this list.
