Zarkan Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) Found this on Brickshelf today: General Grievous made using only official lego parts, I've gotta say, that is a really ingenious way to bulk up the extremely mediocre General Grievous minifigure - and it looks like many other fans could do this as well! EDIT: I've deeplinked a single picture for us to enjoy. Edited September 14, 2008 by KimT deeplinked and title change Quote
NewRight Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) That does look great. It has a great design. I want to see the rest of the BrickShelf account when I have time. EDIT: I knew the name sounded familiar. Obscurance entered FC's Motorcycle shop contest. Edited September 14, 2008 by NewRight Quote
Skipper 24 Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I like it, it is much better than mine although as with many custom Grevious' I think the shoulder are too big. Quote
KimT Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Wauw. Nice find. I've deeplinked one of the pics and added it to the first post. In the future, when you guys find something awesome on brickshelf (or similar), please write "Brickshelf find" in the subtitle of the topic. I wish I had the imagination to do a custom Grievous like that. Quote
Derek Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 That is just freakin' cool! They should add a few dark and light bley pieces here and there and that would be perfect. First thing that came to mind when I saw it was steoroids. darthperson Quote
Guss Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 nice ! but Isn't general grivious very tall ? this moc seems to be smaller than a minifig, or as tall as a minifig. Quote
ptdapen Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) nice ! but Isn't general grivious very tall ? this moc seems to be smaller than a minifig, or as tall as a minifig. In the pictures in the creator's Brickshelf, you can compare Grevious to the other Jedi. I think he's still pretty big. Edit: Oh, and its very nice. I like it a lot more than the official minifigure, who just looks odd to me. Like Skipper said, his shoulders are pretty huge, but still better than original. JimBee Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 The design is very good, lots of imagination there. The shoulders are too buff though, and he's too big. The custom cape is good though. I also like his Ki-Adi Mundi (I just like Mundi in general). Quote
darkrebellion Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I think the size is right . If you look at the scene it represents it is the Grevious duel in the old Clone Wars and in that episode he was really massive so too me is all right. Quote
bullet8542 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 That is so cool, Great find. I think it is just the right size. Quote
yellost Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 (edited) Well, I have to say that the built is really ingenious, but I don't really like the end result... He looks way too buff, that way... In the film, he is tall, yes, but he is rather thin as well. Here, he looks like he's done waaay too many session at the gym in the past few weeks... I saw another take on BS a while back which I find more accurate (except maybe for the color scheme)... BS Folder I started from that version to modify mine, although i liked the original body piece which I tried to keep, so in the end, I ended up with a bit of a mix between the two versions above. Sorry I haven't got any pics at the moment but I'll take some as soon as I can... Edited September 15, 2008 by yellost Quote
pr0visorak Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I found this and I think that it is a good reference for what grievious should look like in lego. His shoulders are feinetly way too broad but the height and four arms, body is all quite accurate. All the creater needs to do is to fix the shoulders.By the way yellost, the four arms are accurate for that find but the body and legs are too thin.Anyway, good find! iotacode Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Now that's what General Grievous should be! Structured yet subtle overall, an excellent re-creation! Quote
Lego Knight Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I just made one of those without the pieces for the shoulders, the pieces connecting the arms to the body just looks weird without them. Quote
gravysam Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 great!! it looks soooooo much bettyer than the minifig!! Quote
Legoking Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 God, this is really good. How long did it take you to build this? Quote
KimT Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 God, this is really good. How long did it take you to build this? Kinda hard to say. This is a MOC found on Brickshelf, so it would be difficult asking the maker this question. Quote
Manta Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Awesome, I wish he would post instructions, I'd love to make one. Quote
SupaaSayajin Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Wow that guy really owns at lego building!!! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=obscurance Quote
Manta Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 I've been looking at this from the different angles, and I have an idea of how to make it. I am missing a few parts to make my own, particularly 2 white exoforce robot arms, and a white droid torso. Quote
iH Master 13uilder17 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 oh grievous is ripped by the way I'm new. Quote
Zorro Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 UN-freaking-BELIEVABLE ! This one just slays the official Lego one, I actually hope Lego will COPIE him (but not without contacting the guy first that is) Welcome to the forum, iH Master 13uilder17 ! I hope you will enjoy yourself ! You will find this a very living and creative forum: I know I have. Quote
