KimT Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Yeah I know that feeling. It is a little small actually. Kinda like a wall with nothing on either side. That's why I bought 2 of them...MOCing on! Quote
Dark Sword Ragnarok Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 This set looks amazingly cool, even though I'm not into castle. This looks almost good enough to pick up sometime! DSR Quote
UsernameMDM Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 A really cool set that I really want! Thanks for the review. Quote
Aliencat Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Awesome review! One little thing though: They used the old 12V era tracks but then without the beam openings just like in the harbour sets etc. This is the old 4.5V track, which was like the 12V track but without the beam openings :) Quote
Mr. Crimson Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Yeah I know that feeling. It is a little small actually. Kinda like a wall with nothing on either side. That's why I bought 2 of them...MOCing on! I MOCed mine too. Unfortunately, my wallet can't handle another one right now. So i just put in a few more LURPs and greeblies. I usually don't buy Castle sets, but this is the best (and only ) castle set i have gotten! I am very happy with it! Quote
metalandi Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Well, if i can throw in that, the thing with the mine having no back wall is, if you want it to be closed on the back you'd actually need a whole mountain behind it Quote
fenrir Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Thank you for the review and the pics. I own one, and even think this is one of the best sets LEGO ever made. Quote
dj2005 Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I just built this set today and I must admit, it is damn good. A little small, but all the detail and minifigs just make it worth the price. I chose not to build the catapult as I really had enough of almost every castle set including one. However, the pieces that form the catapult are actually very useful for other applications and the rock itself is awesome (plus it can be mined for silver/gold pieces within it). Quote
Zorro Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Its a very nice set I think, the troll will be worth a lot on Bricklink and I also like the rails. I will not buy the set, since I'm saving up for more Pirate sets as well. Your review is excactly what we expect from an Academy teacher, with other words: PERFECT. Quote
hollisbrick Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Great review for a great set This really is one of the t castle sets out lately, I wish I could get it Great Job!! Quote
Manta Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I have wanted this set for it's awesome design, cool pieces, and viking torsos ( you didn't mention the viking torsos ). You did a great job on this review as well. Quote
gladiator Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Great review... 7036 for me, is the best castle set in 2008. yes, You should buy more than 1, to get better... 4 sets will be completed as bigger dwarves mine. I am lucky, bought several sets to collect the special minifigs wih outstanding price, ($52, after disc) and very happy with TLC, they gave us 7 unique minifigs in medium castle sets (only 500+parts, thats why I noted as medium set) Fantastic !
