darkrebellion Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 (edited) Hi I am just looking around Bricklink and found this minifig: Mysterious Minifig This minifig comes with the Podrace Bucket and in bricklink it says he is Aldar Beedo, but hey we all know he is not Beedo (Who is released as a minifig in the Watto Junkyard set ) so who is this misterious charater ? EDIT: Sorry for the grammar mistake in the title . Edited September 18, 2008 by darkrebellion Quote
ExoBuilder Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 You mean this minifig? Just saw him too, IMO, he looks like crap. Quote
darkrebellion Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Yeah I just solve the link of the image problem, thanks ExoBuilder . Quote
Oky Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 (edited) I think, he is Beedo. Or supposed to be him anyway. The everything in the Podrace/Star Wars Bucket was very, very poorly designed, as bucket models always are , and so is this so-called minifig. The junkyard set came out after the bucket, so they didn't have the new Beedo to put into the bucket. I got this abomination and still regret spending a lot of money on it instead of the junkyard set which was so much better. But I am proud to have it nevertheless since it's kind of a rarity. Also, considering that the other pods included in the set/bucket are a FG 8T8 Twin Block2 Special and a KV9T9-B Wasp, the only other choices of who this mysterious minifig is supposed to represent would be Neva Kee and Clegg Holdfast, none of which he looks similar to. But it could also be that he is supposed to be anonymous. Maybe he is just a random alien pod-pilot they put into the bucket, considering how brick buckets always encourage using your imagination. KimT Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 This is Aldar Beedo. The resemblance is striking, isn't it? This is his podracer This is the LEGO set. I believe his podracer is the one to the left. Nothing mysterious about him Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 The resemblance is frightening! I can't believe people didn't make the connection sooner... We must remember people that this figure is from the seldom mentioned podracer bucket that, in my opinion, stunk. The face would be good for Moc purposes, though...... Quote
darkrebellion Posted September 19, 2008 Author Posted September 19, 2008 I know he is supposed to be Beedo , but the minifig itself is not even near to the real Beedo (Who comes in the Watto Junkyard set) Quote
KimT Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I know he is supposed to be Beedo , but the minifig itself is not even near to the real Beedo (Who comes in the Watto Junkyard set) Of course he's not the same as this one: The Star Wars Bucket was meant for smaller kids and thus it was severly <insert that tiresome argument> in its designs. The podracers are hideous and it has that cheap design to it, just like the rest of the buckets LEGO has designed. Why would you think Aldar Beedo would look good in a set like that? Quote

Derek Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Hate to be a pessimist, but I think even the real minifig version of Aldar Beedo looks like crap... Quote
KimT Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Hate to be a pessimist, but I think even the real minifig version of Aldar Beedo looks like crap... Agreed. Neither is truly good. At least the head from the bucket version can be used Quote
Skipper 24 Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 (edited) Hate to be a pessimist, but I think even the real minifig version of Aldar Beedo looks like crap... I wouldn't really say it is a minifig. It's more just like a brick sort of like the lion head things in castle. You wouldn't go round calling a stone lion head a lion now would you? Zorro Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I know he is supposed to be Beedo , but the minifig itself is not even near to the real Beedo (Who comes in the Watto Junkyard set) I think he looks more like a Fido (a common doggy name in my country) Dont like it either that much, (Lego) Star Wars minifigures are normally amongst the best looking of all Lego minifigs.
