Maybe this has been discussed yet but I've noticed in Spain is totally impossible to find Impulse Lego Sets from any theme. I've searched everywhere but in every store they say they've been sold long ago or this year they've received no one.

I just get to Paris last week and I found a nice Lego Store (at the beginning of Boulevard Des Italiens, don't miss it! ) and I had the two last Impulse sets from the City Theme of the store and the seller told me it has become quite difficult to find them in France too... :hmpf:

I suppose this kind of sets are the best sold because they're the cheaper ones but I have been wondering if this is anormal or if it happens eveywhere :look:

I know where they are. According to a Dutch legend, Sinterklaas (where Santaclaus came from) is buying them all up for his birthday (actually the day before he died) at the 5th of December. You must have met him once with his black helpers.

He lives somewhere in Madrid (already for about 500 years.

For those who are unbelievers, check wikipedia

He actually has given me my first train: 7710, the 5th of December 1981, I was 2,5 years old back then! Dank u Sinterklaasje!

If we're talking about sets from 5618 to 5621, I haven't seen them anywhere in Italy too, but they have been available somewhere in Switzerland (Migros @Serfontana, in Chiasso) since early August.

While sets from 5610 to 5617 have been in shops since January, and most still are (prices vary from 2,75 to 3,50 Euro).

In the netherlands they are still available in all toyshops. Strange. :hmpf:

@ JopieK: Wouldn't buy Sinterklaas all those sets at Shop@home instead of buying all sets in spanish toystores. He must also think of the spanish children.:wink:

We're drowning in the impulse sets here in Denmark.

They've been on sale several times and are almost thrown after you, when leaving a toy-store.

(the throw part is a lie, just meant to emphasize the availability)

Well then we should mail our beloved saint of sailors and children to leave the Spanish alone and go get the impulse stuff in Danmark instead ( @ Wout).

It is strange however, indeed. But what I notice is that in more warm climates LEGO is less popular than in the colder area's. Makes sense since playing in the rain and cold outside is not always fun.

they are a TrU exclusive... :hmpf_bad:

Where? We've got them in discount supermarkets, regular toy stores and a lot of smaller shops selling cigarettes and magazines. They're meant as impulsive buys and it sounds strange that they would be exclusives. Then again TLG's way of supplying their shops is strange indeed.

Here in Ireland I've seen them in Byrnes and a couple of small independent shops. The one in New Ross had a big stand earlier in the year but they've got rid of it and are down to just half a dozen firefighters.

Byrnes in Liffey Valley still had a reasonable selection (two weeks ago) along with some slightly larger sets from 2002!

In Norway they're sold in all normal outlets that sell LEGO. Top Toys, i.e. Fetter BR and Toys R Us usually have them unsorted in baskets and canisters, while others, or Brio to be more specific, have display stands where they are nicely sorted and displayed.

I only just saw one in person for the first time less than a month ago - and it was in a Lego Store. Other than that, I haven't found them anywhere else. :hmpf_bad:

Seriously, if this availability fiasco continues in 2009, TLC is probably going to lose a lot of potential profit that could be made off of the new Pirate Impulses, among other things.

The situation is the same here in north of sweden it seems. In one of the toystores I visit frequently they've overflown that yellow "impulsestand" onto a whole shelf...

However it seems like Troll Warrior has replaced the good wizard. Because that wizard is nowere to be found. Other than on S@H.

And thank gawd for that.

The wizard is ok, but we don't need more than one, do we?

The Orc/Troll Warrior is needed by the loads. So "wizzie out and orc in" is a great thing

Here in Serbia, the impulse sets are currently available at the big supermarket chains (Super Maxi, Super Vero) and at the major toy stores (Turbo Limac, DexyCo). There's plenty of them on the shelves, although I'm pretty sure one of the stores near me had to re-stock them recently. They do seem to be selling well, and I think they will fly off the shelves as the New Year approaches (we give out gifts for New Year's eve, not Christmas). Their average price is 340 RSD, which is about 4 EUR - including VAT. I saw the Good Wizard marked down to 299 RSD (3.5 EUR) the other day.

I can't find them anywhere in England.

No, nor can I. What's the point of having a set designed specifically for cheap impulse buys when out shopping if they're not going to be available anywhere? :hmpf_bad:

Sure we need more than one Good wizard! How else are we going to be able to sell it to the Americans, who didn't get it at all, for overprices?
