LuxorV Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 I was going to answer here yesterday, but then I forgot to do it... As others said, Fabuland is a great memory of my first LEGO years: long wonderful hours of play with my older sister and these strange animal MFs . What I really find cool in this theme is the big ammount of accessories never reproduced to normal MFs' scale in later themes. Just think about the bird cage, the fridge, the big spoons and so on. And they fit in perfectly (well, most of them) with the other normal MFs. Another thing I think has to be stressed about Fabuland is that it's the perfect passage between Duplo and System. I think it was great for little children (like me at the time) to have these big headed animal-like MFs (which still were childish) that could 'interact' and be used long with the System bricks (those we used to see in our 'big' friends collections). This is my contribution So, Fabuland ON! LuxorV

Captain Green Hair Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 I never really took interest in Fabuland, untill i won a set in a building competition. They are good for a laugh IMO and i can't say i hate it. Only thing i hate are annoying and ignorant people....
Shoc Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 (I wouldn't mind some Znap actually! ) I have some (probably because the set was purple), it is only just compatible with System, but more solid than Technic. I do think it is one of the weaker themes, along with Galidor (which I also posses, for experimental purposes). Fabuland is not at that level, definitely not. It's my favourite theme of the ones I don't have any of, I'd say. :skull:
LuxorV Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Belville anyone ?!CopMike Ops! I must have missed that ! Thanks for the info, Copmike LuxorV

Only thing i hate are annoying and ignorant people.... I'm guessing that was aimed at me... I am now starting to see why you guys and gals like this theme so much. It is quite good for peices and what not.. Although some of the characters scared me some of them are kinda cute I never really took interest in Fabuland, untill i won a set in a building competition. They are good for a laugh IMO and i can't say i hate it. Siegfried Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I have some (probably because the set was purple), it is only just compatible with System, but more solid than Technic. Do the holes align if used with technic beams?
Shoc Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Do the holes align if used with technic beams? Align? You mean if you put them side by side? Umm... I'm not too sure, but studs and pins go in the Znap holes like they do with Technic. Anyway, good that hollisbrick is starting to see sense. :skull:
SuvieD Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Fabuland is sort of like a town based gender neutral Belville series. It has loads of really cool extras and parts with okay figures (unmodified) and a bunch of <insert that tiresome argument> crap parts most people wouldn't ever use. At least that is how I see it.
Oky Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I don't really like Fabuland. It's kinda odd and too <insert that tiresome argument> for me. But at least it was good for some interesting pieces. Do the holes align if used with technic beams? Yes, they do. Every second hole on a Technic beam aligns with one on a Znap piece. I liked Znap and have quite a lot of it. It's useful when you're building large Technic structures. Makes them quite solid.
Scouty Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Even though I have absolutely no pieces from Fabuland that came from Fabuland sets (Like I might have Fabuland parts but came in sets which weren't, well, Fabuland), I really like this theme. The parts are also sweet, as well. I guess I'm a sidelines fan !

VBBN Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 As will I. Those look very handy. Thanks Oky. -VBBN
hollisbrick Posted September 28, 2008 Author Posted September 28, 2008 I actually dont mind Fabuland now. It seems like an intersting theme. Can some one please close this topic because it has no meaning anymore because I like this theme now and it seems to be going off topic... Thanks FABULAND ON!
