I'm a member of BZP, under the assumed name of ShaddowCroc:Toa Of The Wii.

I hate how strict BZP is, though.

Wait, what happened to Omicron?

Did I miss something?

To be blunt, anything else would be unnatural. Bionicle's target group is boys ages 7-12, so naturally those are going to make up the majority of a fansite dedicated to the series.

My only issue is the intelligence of those kids. At least Omi is gone now XD

-Ikk

Im not saing that as a bad thing :pir-classic: Im saying that as harder to humor them with comics lol

Okay, dunno how I missed this, but... what happened to Omi? What made him decide to leave BZPower? I saw in his blog that he mentioned someone named Lluvio, who aparrently wanted him gone. Someone please explain. :pir_wacko:

Omi was awesome. Members on BZP were and still are far too immature in their dealings with him. And seriously, that whole drama fest that happened was ridiculously well, ridiculous, and the members involved should be ashamed.

Waitacottonpickinminute, there was a drama fest? What happened?

Waitacottonpickinminute, there was a drama fest? What happened?

first his social life got into the way and got on lesser and lesser with another person tring to make him leave

From what I understand, he was being imped in IMs, however blatantly. It went so far as the person used his email address to try and set up an IM account!

Totally, totally, TOTALLY unacceptable behavior. That the person who did that was not banned at that point is beyond me. Think about it... using BZ's boards... to get a staffer's (or anyone's!) email address... then attempting to use that info to make an account somewhere online? What?!? lol

Barring that the account name would probably again have been an obvious joke, it would also (pretty sure) mean that that email address could no longer be used by the member who owns it, should they want to make an account in the future.

And if I'm wrong on that, it's still totally irrelevant.

Right, bannable offense. With extreme and justified prejudice.

I think where the shit hit the fan was that Omi may have dealt with it his own way instead of just letting the bastards hang themselves, followed by sending Rich after them to finish it. And that's unfortunate.

Anyway, this topic asks a simple question. Do not deviate too far into BZ-bashing (well, be smart about it anyway) and DO NOT be bashing specific members there.

Honestly, I don't care how a small, small, SMALL handful of you feel about Omi.

I don't care if you got so far under his skin and or invaded his online data so badly as to make him bug out.

That there's topics there still now in the blog section crapping on him, astounds me.

He'd have been fine if 2 or 3 guys hadn't come along to push buttons.

It's a fact that if I were still modding on BZ, I'd have maneuvered conversations in the staff forum in such a way (using slap-in-the-face truth, actually) so as to see people banned.

The difference here is I'm telling you what I'll do right here to your face.

For once, I'm going to hold a more heavy fist than is held on BZ.

Yes. Poop on Omi here, I'll get defensive. It's your only warning.

(Now why couldn't I just have said that instead writing a freaking book?)

Now, back to the original topic of this topic's topic.

I'm on BZP. :)

I had an account here years ago, I have no clue what happened to it. Anyway, it's nice to get away from the strict rules of BZP here, occasionally. I don't know what you guys see in Omi... he seems to go out of his way to disagree with everything I post. (Sorry Jinzo). What I hate is that he keeps saying he'll leave and keeps coming back. He gets my hopes up, then smashes them to pieces.

So, what goes on in the staff forum on BZP? :D I bet the staff just love going in there and relaxing from the strict rules everywhere else, huh?

It's cool to see some names here that I recognize from BZP... Ikki and Algernon. (Algernon: your guides to emoticon usage were hilarious). Why were you banned, anyway?

BTW, I love the emoticons here. :kahuka:

Actually, I've been wondering for some time if the Algernon here is the same as the Algernon on BZP. I remember following the Anaglyph gaming topic for a while while it was up there, and I really haven't checked it barely at all since it moved to a new forum. Algernon, are you the guy I and Sidorak are thinking of?

Yep, I'm Terakk, and I just joined Eurobricks a few minutes ago. (This is my first post). It seems a bit similar to BZPower except the spoilers ( :D ) and the swearing ( :( ).

Swearing is megablocking awesome!

And yes, I'm Wrack from there.

I know nothing about bzpower. Is it just bionicle, and is it set up similar to this site?

This is Bzpower. And yes, it is very similar to Eurobricks format wise, though it has certain rules that Euro doesn't.

Yup, I've been a member there for almost a year and a month. I'm pretty active there too, but I can't be bothered telling you who I am.

Invisible virtual cookie for who can guess.

Yeah, I'm known as Neku over there. I decided I'd finally make an account on here, seeing how everything aside from the blogs and CoT have gone to hell on that site.

So yeah.

Whee...

Without getting all irate and conflicty and stuff... does anyone else but me think that once you exit the blog area and go out into the main board... that the thing is practically non-functional?

I mean, I used to like voting in contests, but it started becoming a chore (since 2002 lol?), getting redirected to the server message or just getting white screens, etc, etc.

The other day I was pooping around in the blogs and was, "Hey... these run so much better than the rest of BZ... what they hell, I'll give it a try again, for old time's sake."

I got up to maybe Poll G and it went to hell in a handbasket. I think I wound up having to vote on the same poll 3 times until it finally took.

Well, I THINK it took... Regardless, I tried navigating to the rest but just had to get the hell out of there... not voting on the remaining 9 million polls.

Are the blogs hosted on a different location... or something? Sure, they screw up, even badly time to time, but not like the rest of the place I don't think.

I haven't experienced any of that in...months. Maybe even a year or so.

I dunno why it's affecting you man.

You have no idea how alien that concept is to me.

Really, Fall 2002. Returning from the downtime of the Maori "hacking" event.

That was the END of the site acting stable for me.

And in these past 6 years I've had a myriad of different computers, different operating systems, different browsers, different internet connections...

Right this second for instance, I have about 20 Firefox tabs open, all different sites, some quite large, some heavily graphics-laden, all working 100% fine.

But BZ's tab is a white screen I hit refresh on every 3 minutes or so.

Maybe... possibly... it could have something abstract to do with a person's account creation date?

I haven't experienced that in quite awhile either, Jinzo, and my account isn't that much newer than yours.

I do know that BZPower goes 'down' at roughly 2 or 3 AM CST every night so the database can compile statistics. I asked Andrew (Black Six) about that in person, and that was the answer I received, as that is the only time of the day I have issues connecting.

Well if it's not a low member creation number, and it's not scheduled site maintenance (for I just visited every site I visit I on a daily basis, saving BZ for last and slamming into an error message that took 3 retries to escape) ...no idea.
