Dennimator Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 (edited) Yesterday I got a mysterious package in my mailbox. When I opened the package, there was a letter. It just said: "Från din kompis kompis till din LEGOstad", or "From your friends friend, to your LEGO city". There also was a very small bag with some minifigs and accessories: I am wondering; is there some rare pieces in there? I´m not very good at telling that. Thank you! Dennimator EDIT: Check post #4 for updates!! Edited September 23, 2008 by Dennimator Quote
Sandy Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I am wondering; is there some rare pieces in there? I´m not very good at telling that.Thank you! Dennimator I'm pretty sure that grey ponytail piece only came in one single Spider-Man set, so you're pretty lucky to have it. I wish something like that would mysteriously drop through my door as well... Quote
WhiteFang Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Do you have any idea whom gift it to you? Indeed, it looks like its from someone's childhood toys which is mixed together with various themes. There are Classic Town torsos, ninja torso, some nice headgears from Aquanuts, harry potter torso. The yellow bucket seemed to be a Fabuland element? I am not very sure, but I think it is. Not really very rare and not really very common as well. Quote
Dennimator Posted September 23, 2008 Author Posted September 23, 2008 (edited) I got a package today too, but today´s package was much larger. Today´s package contained the same letter as yesterdays, and these (104) pieces: Close-ups: I think I´ll add torso and legs to these and sell them on eBay... I´ll really need those parfume bottles to my Stop-Motion movie! Any rare pcs here(except the Ewoks)? Do you have any idea whom gift it to you? No, I have no idea... Ok, the first day of this was mildly interesting, but now it's just silly. You aren't getting unexpected packages of incredibly random parts from unknown sources, so what's the story before we go on? You aren't getting unexpected packages of incredibly random parts from unknown sources, so what's the story before we go on? Well actually, I am. I know my friends know I like LEGO, so one of them (I think I know who, he has done something similiar before) simply must´ve told another of his friends to send me a package of LEGO (the friend I´ve been thinking of have recently been to LEGOland Billund along with his friend, that could be the explanation of the random pieces, and that there are so many of the same sort). If it is so, he´ll probably tell me soon. Quote

Be sure to let us know, and if it is him, give him my address, I could use some random stuff from Billund. In the first batch, it's the yellow half-barrel. It isn't expensive or rare, really, but it only exists in early to mid 80's Fabuland sets and at the present, none are for sale in the US on Bricklink, so that makes it interesting to me. In the last batch, the things that stick out most to me, aside from the ewoks are the perfume bottles, Fabuland standards (lamp posts) in turquoise and the Frankenstein headpiece. I can't tell if anything is printed on the clear heads or those could be interesting. I don't think any of it qualifies as rare, though, not like WOW rare. Quote
Shoc Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 All of those pieces are great, and most are kind of rare nowadays. A bit random getting free Lego packages through your door though? Saying that, I wouldn't complain if I did. :skull: Quote

Well, I found out that it WAS my friend (and his friend)who did this, and that the pieces was from Billund.I asked him why he did this, wasted money on shipping and all when we live only 2 minutes from eachother, and he just said "that wouldn´t be as fun as this" Sometimes I don´t understand how he is thinking. Well, I don´t say no to free LEGO! BTW, those clear heads aren´t printed. Quote

You didn't have to pay for it, plus I can kinda see his reasoning, did you happen to start asking everyone you saw if they had sent you the Lego? Anyways it's good that you found out who sent you the packages . I hope that next time I go to the mailbox a box of Lego will fall out from some mysterious sender . Quote
JimBee Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Did you check for bombs? As for rare pieces, I'm not really sure. I haven't seen a lot of them, but I'm sure they're in some sets. The teal lamp posts, orange perfume bottles, and the sand green vest stick out to me. Quote
Dennimator Posted September 24, 2008 Author Posted September 24, 2008 Did you check for bombs? ...the sand green vest... Well, I didn´t even find any LEGO ones... That sand green piece isn´t a vest, it´s a Studio hairpiece(Frankenstein). Quote
Thomas B. Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Did you look for Anthrax? Do you see white powder? Is your nose bleeding and are you coughing? Check your vital signs! I don't see any rare parts. Quote
KimT Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Did you look for Anthrax? Do you see white powder? Is your nose bleeding and are you coughing? Check your vital signs! I don't see any rare parts. Dear Thomas B. Did you even read this topic? Had you read it, then you'd have noticed that the discussion "died" a month ago and that Dennimator has found out who shipped him LEGO and why. No reason to bump this old topic. Frankly your bumpin' all over the place starts to annoy me. Not that I'm against a good bump now and then, it's just silly and annoying bumpin' a topic such as this. Snap out of it. Quote
